  2. I was born on christmas... (It sucks...) I have my hair growing in two different colors... (substantialy different!!!) "We see the world just the way we are...
  3. Well for me it's the opposite... I would never date a skychic! (not that I date much I am married anyways..) But seriously I would hate to have the exact same passions as my mate/wife... We would get on each others nerves real soon... The whole dating thing with a skychic might be fun for a few months... but I don't think that most skydiving couples would last a life time together. To tell you the truth I am kind of glad that my wife is a whuffo eventhough she did one tandem a while back... She said she understood why I do it but that it was not for her... I love that time at the DZ by myself... It's my time. And I don't have to work on a relationship when I am there. All I do at the DZ is having fun! No drama, no maintenance, no nothing. I wouldn't want to change that. Of course I don't get to spend every weekend at the DZ but that's ok with me. I believe if you are in a relationship, it's only 50% about you. But I would chose skydiving in a heart beat if she wanted more that her 50%... "We see the world just the way we are...
  4. I've been jumping since 1972 and never heard of a "Brantex" suit. However "Brand X" suits were once quite popular. OK... Now I feel like an idiot... Yeah that must it... "Brand X" not Brantex ... I bought the suit on Ebay in Mint condition and one day as I was jumping it, an older jumper came up and was tripping on the suit. He told me it was a " Brantex suit" At least that's how I understood it! I think I am going to turn it into smoke suit by adding a ZP insert in the legs and arm... That should get me to haul ass!!! I'll keep you posted! "We see the world just the way we are...
  5. I got an 82 mph average on a track dive with an old Brantex suit... If you saw the suit you would understand why... Some older jumper would really get a kick out of that one!!! It's as old as I am!! My next goal is to modify this suit a little and i am almost sure I can get a fall rate in the low 70's... I' ll keep you updated on that experiment! "We see the world just the way we are...
  6. Yeah Happy Birthday Bro!! I really wish we could have done that washing machine exit we talked about Fly free! You are not forgotten! "We see the world just the way we are...

    Dating a Lie

Yeah really nice avatar... but your camera needs a flash!!!! "We see the world just the way we are...
  9. Yeah I wear a helmet! Not just for protection against scratches and bumps but also because it helps me relax in freefall by making things more quiet... It must be psychological but I get more nervous when I can hear myself fall! "We see the world just the way we are...
  10. Just call it "THE BOMB DIGGIDY" "We see the world just the way we are...
  11. I am so sorry to hear that you got hurt! Last thing I saw before leaving the DZ staturday night was you enjoying Roysplaything attributes and then the next thing I read about you is that you got hurt. That sucks!!! Get well soon girl! "We see the world just the way we are...
  12. I am thinking about coming out on Saturday to Byron...since it seems that some of the Hollister peeps will be there! No a serious questions! Is Byron really cool with kids or is it a joke... I am thinking about taking my 5 years old daughter with me (not because I have to, but because she wants to go with me to see daddy jump out of the plane...) Now after reading some of the sarcastic comments in this thread I am not sure if it's a great idea... "We see the world just the way we are...
  13. Oooops my bad... at least he was not so long ago "We see the world just the way we are...
  14. From what I remember the price for renting gear through "action air" shop was 20 bucks a jump... The one I got was very nice with an infinity container and a near new sabre 2 150... So yes I would say they have nice gear! You might want to PM "rigging65" as he is the manager at action air. I am sure he can answer all your questions about rentals! As far as taking your rig on commercial planes it's a bit of a lottery. I never had any problems but that really depends on the mood of the TSA guy/girl. and if you are tan that doesn't help either "We see the world just the way we are...
  15. I am certainly not knocking off the view of static line training in the middle of fields from a 182... because that's the route I took.... and still take most weekends... "We see the world just the way we are...
  16. Your questions kind of goes in all directions so it's hard to answer... It really comes down to what YOU prefer, feel comfortable with... If you are most concerned about money there are some drop zone that will get you in the air for really cheap... but often you get what you pay for I know that for a fact... So to answer your quesion of safety... IMHO I believe that safety is better some places that others. Like I said you get what you pay for... If you want a super view, to notch AFF instruction, good vibes, turbine planes etc... it's gonna cost you more than a static line program from a cessna 182 in the middle of fields! Again, the choice is yours... the view? the money? the quality of instructions? time available? "We see the world just the way we are...
  17. I usually try to get 4 or 5 in a day of jumping. I really admire people who can make 10 jumps in a day and still pack for themselves... My limitation is more by being physically beat by my pack jobs than by limited funds! and since I hate the idea of packers... I am limited to 5 maybe 6 if I took my vitamins in the morning "We see the world just the way we are...
  18. Thanks a lot chuck. I will give Aerodyne a call for the reline. "We see the world just the way we are...
  19. Yeah....well you don't live somewhere launching a crusade against media of all forms because we saw Janet Jacksons boob for a split second. Hey Fish! The man's got a point there... "We see the world just the way we are...
  20. Big Fat Juicy steak that I marinated this morning before leaving for work...some pastas, and a bottle of two buckchuck! Anyone hungry?? "We see the world just the way we are...
  21. No I would not sue for anything that involves spoting... it's everyone's choice to jump out or not. But I do think that sueing a DZ or hold them legally responsible for some aspect of their operation would be acceptable. By that I mean I do expect the jump planes to be properly maintained by trained mechanics and that the rental gear should be in airworthy conditions.. I think that if it can be proven that the DZ or someone at the DZ did something blatantly negligent to save a buck on mainteance for expample, they should be held responsible for their actions. "We see the world just the way we are...
  22. Hey I saw this suit for sale on Ebay... doesn't it look a little fishy that a wing suit ends up with a guy like this? Maybe someone might recognize this suit? Stolen gear? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3662258485 "We see the world just the way we are...
  23. Sorry to hear that bro... Personally I wouldn't have a problem going with you on a tandem... But basically what it comes down to is personal choice. Some students will likely not be too hot about jumping and being strapped to some one who is HIV+... but then again it's personal choice. I have a friend who is HIV+ and that never stopped me from hugging her, eating with and interacting normaly. I say that as long as you are honest with the student regarding your condition, and that you feel 100% fit to tandem someone, there are no reasons you should give it up. Honesty is the best policy... "We see the world just the way we are...
  24. I get nervous every time I am first out and I have to open the door and spot.... What scares me is not the spotting part, it's the fact that i have to stick my head out fully and hang at the door. For some irrational reasons, I am scared of falling out No Joke! But then again when I determine the spot is good I get up and do my thing and jump out with no fear... I think it might have to do with the fact that my brain see falling out is not like jumping out... "We see the world just the way we are...
  25. It's all about balance baby!!! If you keep things in balance, everything will be fine. I am married to a whuffo wife who doesn't care much about skydiving, I have two young girls, a full time job and many other activities on the side as well as hobbies ect.... It can be managed just fine if you keep things in balance. Skydiving is a blast, but it's just an activity among others. The thing is that it's very addicting and if you have an addicting personality it could get you in trouble with other aspects of your life... Just like other addictions... Keep it under control... accept the fact that you won't be able to spend every second of every weekend at the DZ because you have other responsbilities( Mom and wife) and it will be just fine. Have a blast girlfriend...it's all about balance and compromises!!! "We see the world just the way we are...
