Hey BigFritz, I am glad to read that you are comtemplating jumping a bigger main for a few more jumps. I saw that one landing after we jumped together last sunday and it wasn't bad but it was definetly not gracefull (you know what I am talking about...) So going for a 150 or 160 main is defenitely a good idea for a while IMHO. I know Bill doesn't rent a 150 in his rental gear... but that's not really a reason to take the next smaller canopy. That's a really good idea... I made my own freefly pants! It's really not as hard as it looks. I drew my own pattern and got to make pants just the way I wanted them. I have attached a pics of the finished pants... I think it's too bad for 20 bucks of material and a few hours of work... I think it has to do with the routing of the bridle... Basically the bridle goes from BOC pouch to underneath the bottom edge of the right closing flap, then the pin and finanlly the bridle goes underneath the too edge of the right cover flap. So when you pull on the bridle straight up, it bearly lifts the pin cover flap to release the pin but not enough to pop the pin cover open... I have about 20 jumps on my New wings container and I realized that my main pin cover flaps never pops open even during deployment. Every time I go to repack my main the flap is still tucked away and I actually have to open it to get to the top grommet. I believe for most manufacturer production time varies at different time of the year. They probably just happen to be pretty busy right now... For example, Bkdice mentioned 9 to 10 weeks for a Wings. Can anyone recommend an extreme sport that doesn't have this heavy family value/bible influence? Surfing? Ice climbing? I can't believe there aren't skydivers out there that have devoted their lives to breaking the laws of god and man. I've seen golfers that are more rebellious than some of you guys. I'm in the minority though, and I digress. And I don't jump high - I already said that. Please don't hate me or try to kill me. Duuuude! What the F...! Why should skydivers be rebellious??? I don't see how jumping out of plane makes one more likely to do dope. The way I understand all your statements in this thread makes me think that the high you get skydiving is not enough for you. Why would someone need "to chill" after a day's jumps or have their mind altered??? I find it sad that one would not be satisfied by the high provided by skydiving and just the normal socializing with the amazing people found on a DZ after a day's jumping... You don't need to explain to me the benefits of pot smoking... I had ample experience with it for many years! To me, pot kills the spirit of skydiving! Bottom line: It's your right to smoke it....
