I completely agree with you... the facts are that some DZ.s are not USAP and don't follow the USPA jump courses...They basically have their own methods of teaching skydiving! That's is exactly where I screwed up. I did not ask questions nor questioned anything or the training. I took things for granted... When you are new to skydiving and a DZ you don't know any better. And rightly so. Instruction varies widely in quality. Some of it pretty much plain sucks. I am with Tom on this one... Not the fault of the students that some DZ instruction sucks... when you are new to the sport, you don't really know what the standards of intruction should be. So you take the instruction you receive as "nornal". A whole lot of things were not covered in my instruction... But I only realized that after a few dozen jumps... and a few month in the sport! I was looking around to buy a video camera to jump with and I came across this... Now I am not looking for a workhorse of a camera or anything. I am just looking to buy a camera to take on fun jumps so that I can film some friends and have fun with it. I don't plan on making grand films/editing or doing tandem videos anytime soon... So do you think this could be an acceptable alternative to a Sony PC or the more expensive cams? These Mustek cameras are dirt cheap... like this one is about 150 bucks and ridiculously tiny and light! I would feel pretty comfortable strapping something that tiny to my helmet... Any suggestions? That's like buying a Mercedes and not getting the leather seats because you want to save a buck. Why get the Mercedes in the first place? Because it's under the hood that counts! The car still drives as fast and runs as smooth with cloth seats. The reason I am asking is because I have landed on my feet on 65 out of 66 jumps I have made so far ( the one miss was jump number 3 where my instructor told me to land in a specific direction that also happened to be downwind ) Sure some of my landing were not super gracious but never ended on my ass nonetheless.
