  1. Yah usually orthoscopic is just for minor rotator cuff damage i think. Full open surgery is where they tighten up the ligaments holding the joint together and then much fun with physical therapy getting the rom back... good luck brit! -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  2. SkyKnights is a GREAT place. Used to be my home DZ and I miss it much. Congrats on the PAC for the summer - I'll have to make it back once or twice this summer... -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  3. Cool to me is the person on the DZ who doesn't give a shit what type of flying you are into OR how you look. I've been to DZs that look down upon people just because they don't look cool, and that just plain sucks big giant donkey balls. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  4. ANY? I have never heard of that. Can you ask him how he does that as I'm sure quite a few of us would be interested... Edit - yah what Phree said. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  5. There is a huge difference between legal for listening purposes and legal for production purposes. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  6. I gotta tell yah - ANY position in skydiving is not very condusive to a weakened shoulder. Even the box man puts quite a bit of stress on a shoulder. Be careful - you wouldn't want to get yourself into a a position where you had to pull silver with your right hand and woops, flip on your back while doing it... -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  7. If it is your right shoulder, you should consider it a very dangerous thing. One could run into much problems if it popped out and wouldn't go back in and they had to chop their main for some reason. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  8. My right shoulder popped out at pull time and was useless. I had to go silver. I had surgery one week later. Now its fine. It will not get better on its own. Once a shoulder starts to dislocate, it gets weaker and weaker. Physical therapy CAN help, but not for everyone (like me). -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  9. Jump #1 -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  10. Number 8 has always been one of my favorites... -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  11. Dood - I do that all the time. The only time I used my EPs, I had no issue in completing what I needed to get done. The more you can go over them in your head I think the better. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  12. ditto - i had surgery and its been well documented somewhere on this site... many people have run into shoulder dislocation issues - let me know if you have trouble locating info... -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  13. Its just a generalization, but most unairworthy canopies I've seen over the years are pretty straightforward in detecting their airworthiness if you go through the full set of canopy inspection methodologies. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  14. Always inspect a canopy before a) buying it and b) flying it. That should be a no brainer to anyone trained in the least. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  15. Interesting way to look at it, I'll take my 50 feet of horizontal as well as the vertical that comes with it. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  16. Fifty feet is WORSE than zero? How do you figure? -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  17. I think you are missing the point - if the plane is going down and the pilot is yelling get the fuk out, get the fuk out and 50 feet seperation is better than a) none AND b) going down with the plane. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  18. I had a kid six months ago, haven't jumped but three times in that period. Sometimes life takes over, u just have to roll with it and keep the faith... -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  19. Two more - learn to use your eyes as your primary altimeter and don't get caught up in "being cool syndrome" - just have fun. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  20. I disagree. Most wuffos I talk to think it is because the chute doesn't open. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  21. That and I don't think the average whuffo would even realize or know that the majority of incidents occur while landing - so what would they care anyway? -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  22. Hell yah - and sell what is in place of the reserve -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  23. Yah and lets stop having sex, driving motor cycles, breathing air in medium to large cities, driving to the DZ, and drinking while we are at it to. Get used to the envelope being pushed, its human nature. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
  24. Don't be a "feeder". And once you sell out, yer out. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
