  1. hi...im from nottingham so i jump at langar (www.bpslangar.co.uk), really lucky to have a DZ so close to home lol. aff cost me 1450 quid , the 2 levels i had to repeat cost mine and my instructors jump ticket (2 tickets = 38 quid). the 10 consols u have to do cost 25 pound each (with free kit rental!!) the kit rental is 10 and if u can pack urself, a 4 pound refund the jump tickets now cost 19 pound + 10 pound kit rental have fun......... ------------------------------------------------------- if you wanna see the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain
  2. yeah sometimes i think whoaaa if my canopy just fails somehow thats a bloody long way down, then i think 'i wonder how much effect a plf would have if the reserve didnt open' lol but its just a quick thought every so often and i fully trust my gear not to 'fail' once its opened but sometimes i also think in freefall at about 4 or 5 grand - shit this is really fast - because thats when i can see the ground actually getting BIG but i do think it is good to be aware of these things, like a reality check i suppose, although i do not think of these often its good to know i have still got some senses left ------------------------------------------------------- if you wanna see the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain
  3. i totally agree ------------------------------------------------------- if you wanna see the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain
  4. Well may be without radio? when landing will be completly on your plan from opening to flare you'll make it better I was confused with radio and my first good landing was on my 3rd jump when I was landed about 1.5 km out from DZ and had to plan pattern and flare myself
  5. i did once it was my third jump - AFF level 3 and the winds picked up quite bad up high when we were up there, so when i pulled at 5500 ft i had loads of time to get blown backwards over 2 (i think!) villages. this wasnt help by my really light wing loading about 0.6 it was my first un-assisted flare and it was a really soft landing, but a bit scary because of the fence, the bushes and the electric pylons surrounding the field but it was all good i had a nice walk back for about 10 mins before the DZ found me and took me back i now have 29 jumps and have not yet landed off again ------------------------------------------------------- if you wanna see the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain
  6. jst curious - whats the differance between a pull out and throw out? eddie ------------------------------------------------------- if you wanna see the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain
  7. visulize the dive then try your best just to get on with it i had a video of my first jump and i thought about the music which was on the video which relaxed me, so maybe try thinking of music u like or something to take your mind of things after a short while you will be wishing the planes could climb to altitude faster i also remember someone calling the feeling you get when you get weathered out 'bitterly sweet' because you want to jump but its a relief you dont have to and that always made me smile now its just bitter lol ------------------------------------------------------- if you wanna see the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain
  8. lol i probaly seen u somewhere then i jumped the caravan but was on skyvan lift 11 and as we got to the runway that big storm cloud came over and we could not jump, guttering or what i hope the weather is ok tomoro cos i took a week off work for the boogie whats a tube dive? it sounds interesting edit: to reply to zep ------------------------------------------------------- if you wanna see the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain
  9. thanks everyone, some of those sound good i think ill try a couple but although hanging from the bar and dropping sounds really good, i think ill pass on that the tourpedo sounds like what i did for my 10th console jump except i was backwards so i got to watch the plane fly away it feels crazy dont u think, when u dive out and hit still air and then u get hit by wind whoo hoo i love that !! ------------------------------------------------------- if you wanna see the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain
  10. hi, as some of you may know its langar boogie time and we have a skyvan in, can anyone share with me some differant types of exits i got thrown out backwards yesterday for my last consolejump - so im A licensed now yeee haaaaa!!!! and iv ran and dived out but i was woundering if you guys could shed some light on some crazy ways to get out thanks eddie
  11. hey thanks for opening this thread, the piccy with the canopy on backwards is a good one, i never even considered that could happen so it wouldnt be as much of a shock if it happened to me now lol ------------------------------------------------------- if you wanna see the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain
  12. first of all congrats on your first jump secondly you recalled that so good i felt like i was there with you lol ------------------------------------------------------- if you wanna see the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain
  13. yes i agree "priorites" iv got over it now lol so next week im going to be driving up and i cant wait no doubt the english weather will stop me though lol ------------------------------------------------------- if you wanna see the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain
  14. i havent been able to jump for...this is the 4th week now, but today ripps the p**s i was working out how much money i had left over because iv just bought my first car (ill get it on wednesday), and insurance. i worked it out so id have enough money left to get to work this week. the sad bit was it was a good jumping day today and i did not have enough money to get to the drop zone, i was really gutterd all day. i was steering at the clear blue sky for about 99% of the day and complaining to my mates about every 5 miniutes but this is the worst bit, i was thinking about how next week i will be able to drive to the drop zone when it hit me, id already paid £100 deposit for the car, which meant i had £100 to spend. i could of been jumping today, maybe even finnished AFF oh well maybe next week eh! ------------------------------------------------------- if you wanna see the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain
  15. relax and don't loose altitude awearness, in other words remember to pull. my first jump was AFF same as your talking about , i was enjoying the sceenary after the practice touches etc. and all of a sudden my instructor pulls my arm around to pull. i felt kinda stupid letting THE most important thing slip my mind, but you have already done tandems so you'll be fine ohh yeah BIG SMILES ------------------------------------------------------- if you wanna see the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain
