In my opinion your doing the right thing by letting her know what you do. My daughter was 5 when I started BASE jumping and now she is 16. Currently,... Black Jack/ACE 280 @ .76 Black Jack 310 @ .68 All canopies have composite uppper skin. I prefer the 280 size over the 310. The drag on a 310 foot lightly loaded canopy is a lot if there is any kind of wind. "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"

If I would freefall it with my BJ 280, I would freefall it with my BJ 310. I can't tell that much difference in opening altitude. Same goes for static line jumps. I've taken the 310 from 165 ft with plenty of room to spare. "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"

I know a jumper who is very close to that weight under a Troll DW 285 and I think his only concerns seems to be the wind. He has little to no penetration into very light winds. Maybe he will reply with more details. "When it comes to BASE, I'll never give advice, only my opinion"

I'll second that. With around 180 jumps on FOX's,45 jumps on a Flik, and 35 jumps on a Troll DW, all in the 285 sq ft range I can say for sure that the Black Jack/ACE will out glide them all. They are all good canopies, but as Tom Manship once told me, "You have to pick the canopy that best suits your flying style. The Black Jack with the ZP rocks!
