  3. Bush was fine, but now, now you are upset. Makes perfect sense. If Bush had a rap sheet like Hillary prior to being voted in, I doubt he would've been voted in. . . Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  4. + 1, to hell with Hannity's show. It was much better when Colmes was there for them to keep each other in check - but whatever, infotainment. . . Last time I saw that guy's show was during the Chicago protest against Rahm Emanuel over the shooting death of Laquan McDonald - all he could talk about was how many of those protesters were against black on black crime - ok, good point - but he wouldn't let it go. I changed the channel and later went back to Hannity - same shit, what about blacks on blacks? -I switched the channel . . . Again, I switched back to Hannity to give him another chance, but this time it was that shady fucker Bo Dietl talking about black on black crime - I laughed myself to sleep. . . 6. That was just one of many - no sense in posting thousands of links when one is sufficient enough to get the point across. Yes, that was my impression of her. A teenage girl, probably under 18. Woe is me! If they have not had one, but are going to, that is also something you can do nothing about. Because it is not your body and it is not any of your business. Perhaps, but that's why I think education and prevention are the best long term solutions. It does not matter what you are cool with, or not cool with. Again, not your business, not your body, not your zygote or fetus, not your womb, not your life. Even if your sperm happens to be involved. Why do you think your feelings should be a factor in a woman's life decisions? There is no justification for that. None. It's called free speech - it's her choice if she decides to let public opinion factor into her decision or not. As a "pro-choice nut bag" I don't know why I even bother discussing this. Probably for the same reason I chose to discuss this with you, even tho you think that anyone who dares to voice their opinion against abortion must be some type of a misogynist in the Christian Taliban fighting the good fight against women's rights. But I'll agree with Wendy that such "rhetoric" (if that's what you can even call it) probably isn't really promoting our "cause" as much as it is bolstering an environment of hate - even if we aren't necessarily the hateful ones. I would hope that we could at least agree on addressing the heart of the problem and focus on the long term goal of limiting abortion through education and prevention. If not, then we REALLY have nothing further to discuss. As long as you promise to wrap your mind around the 1st amendment, m'kay? 7. *** Neither is it about condemning anyone. There are plenty of women in my life that have had abortions, but I don't hold it over their head and ridicule them whether they've regretted their decision or not. Which one of these two conflicting statements best reflects what you really mean to say about women who have abortions? The reality is you are conflicted. Deep down you feel it is infanticide, which is just a form of homicide. But when confronted by Wendy, who you have at least an online relationship with, you get all soft and mushy. I understand that some women feel differently about abortion than I do, but if they've already had one it's water under the bridge - there's nothing I can do about that. But we can look toward the future and focus our attention on education and prevention like Wendy suggested - and if promoting a negative image of abortion helps people to take it more seriously and mitigate the loss due to abortion, then I'm cool with that as well. There you go again, being all condescending. Women do not need your help, or counseling or a priest or a frigging lawyer if they decide on an abortion. You apparently ignored the story I linked to in post # 21 just as I predicted. Women like that don't need their mother, boyfriend or any other family member telling them that "you're not gonna have that fucking thing" and then pressuring them into a rushed decision that they'll regret for the rest of their lives. 9. Well, I remember discussing it several times with you over the years - but ya, my focus has generally been on late termination and the general attitude of indifference toward abortion as if it's just a cancer resection. It's offensive and I think such apathetic attitudes send the wrong message on what a "First World" society should be. Please don't presume to tell me what channels I'm plugged into or not. Besides, for me, this isn't about the women that haven't had "serious" regrets, but rather those that have. Neither is it about condemning anyone. There are plenty of women in my life that have had abortions, but I don't hold it over their head and ridicule them whether they've regretted their decision or not. Many here would be appalled if a christian family ridiculed, condemned and then forced their daughter to have the baby, but how much more appalling to abort under duress and force girls like those in the link up-thread to live with that regret? Women like that need to understand their rights, that there is help and that they don't have rush into a decision and go through it alone. That's a great post and pretty much sums up the "education and prevention" theme this past week as the only real long term solution in mitigating the loss due to firearms and abortion. 10. Abortion is offensive. Fine, fair enough. Abortion borders infanticide. I do, and they can. I'm not in violation of anybody's rights. I'm just a voice crying in the wilderness . . . However, I think the tears of women that have regretted their abortion are much more effective at influencing public opinion than my expression of disdain for it - but overall, the best way to address this problem is through education and responsibility - same for our violence problem and all the other issues that ail our society. ...and stop trying to make this just a religious issue, there are plenty of atheists that find abortion offensive as well. 11. Well ya, no shit - more people working less hours. In Michigan there is a financial incentive for business to cut the hours of their current employees and hire more minimum wage workers. Instead of 16 employees working 40 hours at $8.50/hr, just hire 32 employees at 20 hours and you'll never have to pay into unemployment - but just don't forget to make the schedule sporadic enough so that it make it's real tough for them to find time for a second job. . . Accident numbers are rather predictable unlike terrorist attacks. when was the last time 19 toddlers killed 2996 people and injured 6000+ in one day. 12. Wow, only 3 days? That's pretty quick. Most women I know have to wait weeks, sometimes even months just to see a specialist let alone have a non-emergency "medical procedure" performed. Some women have to wait 10 days just to get a prior authorization approved by their insurance company before they even see a specialist. Is that what you want? You're better than that. Do you really think comparing this to guns is gonna help any? But seriously, I get it - I can understand how an older responsible woman who has already mothered a litter of 3 can find a legal waiting period offensive, especially if her birth control has failed her - but how about sucking it up for the majority of younger women that bear the burden of having to make that decision? Many girls (along with their partner) actually want to have the child, but feel forced into abortion by either their parents or society like the girl in the story below: I Regret My Abortion I know many of you pro-choice nut bags want to ignore this girl's story and probably won't listen, so here are a few direct quotes: "He (the father) knew I was pregnant...he wanted to see me and know that I was ok. He was scared shitless but...he said that he was ready to do what he needed to do - to be there." "My mom barged into my room and I told her, "I'm pregnant..." her next words were 'you're not keeping that fucking thing....' I couldn't even bear those words." "Of course my mom took me to planned parenthood, and...it's illegal for parents to force their kids into an abortion, but I was scared to say that I didn't want it. . ." "I was only 8 weeks pregnant when I had my abortion and all I had left was the ultrasound picture that they were able to get for me...I carry it everywhere I go - no joke, it's always on me. Whenever I feel upset I always look at that, and always imagine what could have been." "Having that abortion and giving up so easily is one of the things I will definately regret my whole life." I feel like I'm a bad person for what I did - I feel that I will never forgive myself...I feel like I failed my child because I couldn't protect them." "...but I love my child, and I hope he or she knows that, and that they will always be with me forever, but I honestly regret my abortion sooo much." "...and I just hope that anybody going through a problem like that considers everything...and that they make the best decision for themselves - not what's gonna make everyone else happy, but do what's right for you." "I appreciate you guys who watched this whole thing." There are endless stories of regret like this. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

  14. FFS man, suck it up. This is like the 3rd or 4th post you made moaning about people being disrespectful or whatever, but you have no problem calling women white trash along with other inflammatory posts. My reply was in response to your Taliban comment. I was simply pointing out the neolithic nature of abortion - it's appalling. In the words of Normiss, you people celebrate death. 15. Don't put words in my mouth. I'm just not interested in promoting nor being an advocate for abortion. If negative public opinion on the issue can help a women make a choice for life, then great. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  16. Tell that to dekker. . . I've already provided some perspective and given plenty of information on how we can address our violent culture and impose additional reasonable restrictions to continue reducing our gun related crime rate. When you guys finally get your thoughts together, let me know and we can discuss the issue like normal people - until then, I'm pretty much done here. 17. I suppose people like dekker that think we should repeal the 2nd Amendment - they tend to get a little butt-hurt when we don't include them in our affairs. However, I think it's safe to say that many in this country probably feel the same way, even if they aren't dumb enough to actually say it. What does that mean, "well regulated?" Kallend wants us to have safety classes every two years along with government inspections of our arsenals and transponders on all firearms, lol. . . 19. Yes, he got it from facebook - a private entity within a global communication network that allows carbon units to share information - even factual information that you don't want to hear. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. If you believe what you read on Facebook, it explains a lot of your other beliefs. So you don't believe the CDC info because it was posted on facebook?Sounds like a bad excuse for willfull ignorance. . . Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  20. Uh . . . how? With time travel? I believe it was Post #26 of 2238. . . ...ok, ok - he wasn't exactly blaming Bush for benghazi, but you get the point - It's all apart of that franchise. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  21. Actually, infanticide is a neolithic practice - but today, the wonders of science have developed the concept of abortion that allows one to dismember and then tear progeny from the womb prior to birth and killing it for even more selfish reasons - Apparently this method is emotionally lighter on the psyche of more advanced homo sapien brains seen in the mothers of today's society, thus helping them sleep better at night. 24. When did Guns and Ammo become a science journal? Approximately 90% of his post consisted of direct quotes from the CDC. The other 10% consisted of brief summaries of those quotes from G&A to encourage people to read, lest they remain willfully ignorant. If you had anything constructive to say against the data, you would - but you don't, because you can't. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  25. The majority of us handle the responsibility just fine. Let's take Michigan for example. About 70% of gun related homicides were committed in Wayne and Genesee Counties - which is basically like Detroit and Flint. (I don't know, maybe there's something in the water) The other 30% of gun related homicide is spread throughout 60 other counties - most of which is concentrated in other smaller poverty stricken urban areas like Saginaw and Lansing. That leaves 20 counties primarily in Northern MI that don't have any gun related homicides - and let me tell you, the folks in Northern Michigan have quite an arsenal. The gun related homicide rate has already been cut nearly in half over the last 20 years, and we didn't need to repeal the 2nd amendment to do it, nor did we need to have a bunch of ineffective regulations and gun buy-back programs - in fact, we have more guns per person now than we did back then. The decline has been attributed to a variety of causes, but here are some from the Wash Post: 1. More cops 2. More cops using technology to efficiently address crime. 3. Less consumption of alcohol. 4. Less Lead (take a hint, Flint) 5. Better Economy There's obviously more we can do. I think I read recently that there are still like 35 states that don't impose gun restrictions on violent misdemeanors/domestic violence - so that would need to be addressed. Also, the CDC's biggest recommendation is to address our violent culture in central cities when the kids are very young, and to implement programs "to reduce the burden of firearm-related mortality in the United States." I think if we can impose some additional, but moderate restrictions and address this country's violent culture more effectively through education/maturity, then I think we could cut the rate in half once again within a single generation - and at the same time reduce the rate of the 30-40% of murders that are NOT gun related.
