  1. if that was in reply to me? well i totally agree with you. I have just bought a custom wings because i am sick of the little chain of mishaps with my vector i was going through. I am scared shitless of my equipment but in the aspect of skydiving, well i look well after my gear and my equipment and my questions as well as listening skills but i do still enjoy being scared as i feel this is what keeps me alive. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  2. shit, you need to do some b-rels...you sound just as dangerous as your mate.....you wouldn't be jumping at any dz i have been to if that is your attitude. You should know that is not"just simple, jump out and do a few fun things". your fun things sound like dangerous death. you are soooooo lucky that you have good awarness of your surroundings or we would be writing about you in the fatalities discussions. Dude you need to learn a bit more from a dzso, 2 way unplanned dive from 5k with 2 diff flying styles????!!! damn you are one scary jumper .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  3. if you are a STUDENT, you should NOT be holding your pilot chute for a while at all. you should be waving off and dumping. You better go speak to your dzso before you cause a mal. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  4. how about talking over your skydive before you even get in the plane. Is it such a wise idea to be belly flying with someone in a sit? i am not trying to say i know better than you but when i started freeflying my instructors were telling me that if i go on to my belly when we are in a sit.....well they just advised me to go into a ball otherwise i would be dangerous to them and myself in the sky. I have learnt that before i go out the door my partner and i know exactly what we are going to be doing. This means at least break off point, pull point, tracking direction and what style of flying we are doing. Talk more be safe. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  5. man, all of you we are jumping out of a plane at awesome speeds. FEAR, shit, i fear everything but is that not what makes it so addictive, is fear not what got us out of student status? Sure i check all my equipment over and over and i always like to have a buddy check before entering the plane and pin checks before climbing out.....i have this done because i fear jumping out of a plane and accelerating towards the big green monster. I fear falling to my death but then realise if i can hit the ground in my dreams and get up and walk away that i must love fear! this is the greateset sport in the world and that is why we all bond so well on a dz, because we have to put an amazing amount of trust into a whole lot of amazing people. We do this so easily because it is so easy to lose out to fear. Blue skies and few clouds. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  6. so how low do you pull?? .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  7. forget the tandem, waste of money...straight to a classroom then when you get the go ahead put on your student gear do your checks get on the side of the plane do your cadance and kick ass!. I think you are better of saving that tandem money cause if you have to repeat any of your aff levels(including level 1) you are going to have to pay to repeat it so whats the point in wasting it on a tandem when if you know you are going to do aff already. A tandem is a taster, 2 tandems without proggresion is a waster. So much more surreal and rewarding you will find your aff level 1. good luck dude, and welcome to our sport! .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  8. i would like as many effects as possible. Are you interested in selling them? i really would like the slick effects, titles and transitions. Bigway. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  9. can you tell me where i can find some clips of downplanes as i have never seen one and it makes me shudder just imagining it. A guy with 60 jumps doing a CRW with a downplane, wow, he must be doing pretty well with his skydiving not to mention the size of his balls. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  10. where did you get that reprt? i am from G.I. but that is in new zealand and it says her funeral is in australia? was it a kiwi or oz paper?? .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  11. damn that thigs huge...i got a cheap pc1 for 250usd if you want it. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  12. thanks guys...at the moment i have shifted over to the u.k and am travelling around the boggies in europe. I just want max out my equipment while i have the british pounds. First stop it the mtv skyday in austria. I will mainly be using it for my own movies but then again when i get back to new zealand i will be in the rut of making tandem videos. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  13. i would love to hear some suggestions on editing software for the mac or at least plugins for the imovie on mac. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  14. i have just boutght a pc105. first of all are there any problems i should know about this camera. i film tandems. Second of all, someone has offered me a pc1 for 250usd. I know this camera is small and probably no good but have any of you jumped with this camera or know anyone and can give me feedback, it just seems like a good buy. I imagine it will be very shakey?? 16. ok, so i have been jumping for a few years now and am always raving ont to a mate of mine about the sport. He is desperatley keen on fronting up his cash to do the AFF and then his own gear if need be. The problem is in my country, none of my mates will teach him as he is weighing in at 105kg's. he is a built guy, not over weight at all just a full on cut rugby player. I have contacted other mates that teach aff around my country but no one is interested. Can anyone tell me where this bloke and what country he can do his AFF course in. I have been showing him all my vid's and he is just amped and ready to get into it. I am from new zealand and we have a max weight of 100kg's for the course. If anyone knows anywhere, travel is not a problem as we are in the u.k. and heading to the states after watching the world champs. Blue skies and few clouds. BIGWAY. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  17. just out of curiosity.....how the hell did you manage to do 2600 jumps in one year? .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  18. Welcome back to the ground, just be getting that reserved packed before you go buying the good stuff. Get back up there and do it all again.Yeeeahhhhh!!!! .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  19. are you for real? yes you must have your parents sign it. If you are under 18 you should listen to your parents/guardian. Your friends that are over 18 can not sign it. If you were to have a friend pretend to be your guardian and you got injured at all then the dropzone would get sued and you would have alot of people hating you for a very long time. Do not be so cruel. I imagine your parents are not wanting you to skydive. You should buy a video of skydiving or take them to a dropzone where they can see for them selves how safe it is. In my country skydiving is the safest adventure activity on the books. I really hope you get to jump as it is the most brilliant experience you could ever do. But do all skydivers a favour and do it properly. Good luck .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  20. Man you must all come from very small dropzones if you think we are alcohoilcs. People, we are talking about ONE CASE of beer here when you have a first. Firsts do not happen every day and if they do that is only ONE CASE of beer per person. A case of beer at my Dz, my god, you will be lucky if you see two bolttles each!!! there is nothing wrong with this, i think it is a brilliant rule of thumb as it gives the dz a social atmosphere once all the jumping is done. It is the second best part of jumping....Pissing your dzso off and then sitting down with him to talk about your jump over a beer! For the people that don't drink alcohol, A coke would do fine, and i will do the same. Man, a day at a dropzone needs to be celebrated, cause you get to do it again!! Blue skies everyone, with a few scattered clouds. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  21. no way, no skygod here mate...sorry about the get a life...i dont know where that came from. I ask questions all the time, i just dont think you should be asking a tandem master on your first jump about his malfunctions. I guess curious is good but dont get to excited about how often you should have a mal. learn about them but dman man if you go around asking people about how malfunctions occur it is going to be on your mind all the time. The one thing about skydiving that is extremley important is TO THINK POSITIVE. If you keep thinking about malfunctions and wondering how often they happen you are going to be having one. About the 100+ jumps comment, well that would be me saving my life 100+ times. That would be me pulling at my canopy 100+ times, That would be me paying about 15,000dollars towards a sport i love, that would be me showing a shit load of commitment. You think i dont ask questions? You have just done a tandem, i belive the best thing for you to do if you want to get into skydiving is to go to your local dz and start an aff course, not sitting in this forum asking questions about malfunctions when you probably wouldn't have a clue about the many different ways a mal can occur. I am happy you are interested, but here is a tip, I can not teach you anything but this. If you want to learn to skydive hold of on all the questions in the forums about the technical aspects of skydiving until you have a aff jumpmaster training you....the reason is, you WILL learn alot in these forums, i learn new things every day in here, but if you turn up to a dz and start telling your aff jumpmaster all that you have learnt in here brfore day 1 of the course it will piss him off. He is there teach you his way not the way you learnt on the internet. LOOK, you are probably going to take all of what i have said the wrong way but, i love skydiving and it is the best thing in the world, You need to stop paying for tandems and get yourself in a classroom with someone who gets paid to teach you and takes responsibility of you. You will notice in these forums it is all debates and opinions, it is knowhere for you to be leaning about malfunctions until you have at least been shown pics of mals and what sort they are and how they can happen. I am not a instrutor other than formation coach but i do live on a dropzone and have for the last 3 years. I have seen the way wuffos are treated when they turn up to learn already thinking they know everything. Learn the sport and always be nervous but always think positive! if your offended by this, i am sorry but i DO wish you all the best and blue skies with little clouds! BIGWAY. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  22. Dude, get a, you dont go researching tandem masters and interviewing them. They are all licensed or would not be taking you up. Gett to an aff course and learn it yourself because the price of ten tandems in my country and you will be a licensed skydiver, then jumps will only cost you a tenth of the price of a tandem. If you have a malfunction, well you have a malfunction. It's good to be nevous, you will be more aware but also remember you are falling out of a plane at 120mph.......You dont want to have malfunctions stuck on your mind, you want to have the thought of a malfunction in the back of your mind but your emergency procedures grilled to your brain. On my 60th jump i had a mal....i remember being extremley calm because when i realised i was in trouble(wrapped up in my lines from being stuck on the door handle) I thought well now is the time to do the second part of what i was taught during my aff course. I am actually happy i have had a malfunction, because now i have experienced that. The reason i say dont have malfunctions on your mind full time is because i did after my first mal....This lead to my 68th jump when my end cells did not open, because i had mal's stuck on my mind i thought i had to cut away....boy was i wrong when the media and ambulances turned up to me getting a blasting from my cso. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  23. So how many jumps should it be until we strap a camera to our heads. I got into skydiving through a school. The deal was i saw an article on the news in new zealand. I joined this course and we spent 40 hours a week at the dropzone, rain or shine. Learning a whiole lot of stuff about skydiving. i know this sounds stupid but alot was drilled into us. NZ is a tandem country. So after about 100 jumps if that, we were jumping with camera helmet and no cameras. After about 5 of these jumps we would be loading up our helmets with full camera. This course went for 5 months and we all left with 200 skydives and straight into work as camera flyers around new zealand. Most people are now tandem masters. This course takes about 50 students a year. We learn meteorology and before the course is finished we must have 200 pack jobs plus 40 tandem packs. I do not think this course is the best way to learn because we all come out thinking we know everything. This i think is because we do 200 jumps plus in 5 months while a normal sporty would do this in a year or 2. But we are all bloody good safe camera flyers. I know you will all disagree with this way of learning but it has proven good so far and put a 200 odd people into the sport as we get government student loans to pay the course fees. Belive it or not the course is called...."bachelor in commercial skydiving". the school has a web site with the prospectus of this course on the web site. I suggest you all take a look at this as it is primarily a course fo people with no jumps to be trained camera flyers after 5 months. I would love to hear what you have to say in regards to this course after you have read about it on the web site.........'www.skydiving.co.nz" well cheers guys, this will get you worried, i promise. 24. thank you all!!!, i might have said myself wrong, but i never had any intention on going straight to my 150, i have had this all made for me as something to work towards. yes i paid 5000 but that was for a complete system as well as pro track cypres helmet jumpsuits, the works. Thank you all responding, i think you all said what i already knew, but just needed so encourogment and a bit of friendly advice. I must say though, i have no problem going back to radio, at least for the first jump, i actually thin i might, just to get my landing run correct at a new dz. Thank you all, you have given me what i need, and i will now start doing what i love again. YEE fuckin haaaa!!! .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
  25. Hey all, i have not jumped for over 2 years, i have 160 jumps, mainly on a 200 maveric and a few on a 170 which i loved, each time on the 170 my accuracy was spot on to the dot. I dont know what to do now. i am scared shitless of jumping but i must because it is all i can ever think about and it is who i am!! how should i get back into it? to force myself back in to it i have just payed for a custom made wings container, custom reserve and custom sabre 2 150 main. I know that i should not start jumping my 150 straight away. i bought a 150 because i know i will want to downsize again as my experience is gained. so why waste 5000 us. Should i get straight back on a 170 or go back to the 200 while i get my nerves up again. I know i do not have many jumps but i learnt fast and safe. i did a course in commercial skydiving and did 160 jumps in 5 months. i went to this school for 40 hours a week and learnt all aspects of skydiving(meteorology, spotting, and safety over and over.) my 60 th jump was from 18,000ft and most of my others were from 14,000-16,000. Some one give me advise and help me build up my courage. i weigh 78kg's and am 5'9ft. i forget how to work out my wing loading, can someone help please. Well thank you if you took the time to read this and hope you all have blue skies when you wake up in the morning. Cheers, Bigway.Quote .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
