Think Im a little late here...but....Ran into an old instructor of mine (back in 99) day before yesterday at "Mojave Mile", from Air Adventures West in Taft and was told George has his operation running, Skydive San Joaquin Valley, close to the base of the Grapevine (I-5). 2 on, 2 off, 2 on, 2 off, 2 on, THEN 8 off. Kern County Ca. Private ambulance (Hall) in Frazier Park (Top of the Grapevine). ALS unit. Borders LA County and Ventura County. I've been on the same schedule for just over 5 years now-2 days on, 2 off, 2 on, 2 off, 2 on 8 days off. a lot of those 8 days off I do day 12 hours, night 12 hours, a 24 here and there, whatever I can pick up (OT is where the $$'s at). I work in emergency services so those 48 hour shifts are generaly nights of broken sleep, naps when I can. I found that temazepam works for me. If I need it. I do get to the bitchy stage but its generaly only for that first day off. I dont know, dont really have any suggestions....the way I look at it is My deal is absolutely voluntary so if I dont like it, I need to just get the hell out of it. Good luck. My mother is from San Francisco (now lives in socal), just LOVES the Giants. I thought what the hell, she'd love to go see them when they come to town (LA). Yep, registered last night. Great site thanks!! As far as the lathe its a South Bend Precision Model-C 3' bed. Got it running with my Dad yesterday (he's staying at my place for a few days, out snowbirding). Seems it only needs mainly a new leather flat belt.. The drill press (forget details at the moment) needed a new power switch and power cord, replaced that yesterday. The Band saw is a Walker Turner, mainly needing a guide assembly. Havent seen my Dad light up like he did playing with this stuff in many years. I remember all this stuff in the garage and him working with it all the time (tool and dye (sp?) maker). GREAT stuff

Of course, where else would I go for information Anyway kinda generic for the moment but Im setting up my Dads old metal lathe, drill press and band saw (details later?). Thats what the neighbors must think anyways Roy is an 11 month old German Shepard. Annie is a Burnese Mountain Dog about 15 months old. She's in freegin heat and the area coyotes been sniffin around past few nights. This morning 3 in the a.m. Roy was goin complete ape shit out back. I went out and a coyote was screaming and yappin like 20 feet from the back fence. Annies in the basement and Roy's quitely sleeping out back finally.
