  9. [qoute]When I first started jumping I floated on everybody (in freefall). Learned to arch hard and was very proud of the fact that I could keep up with some pretty big guys without a weight vest; I too thought that weights made you lazy. I found out otherwise when I started jumping with some serious big way RW jumpers (namely my bosses...). I could arch hard enough to stay with them but I was arched so hard that I had nothing left for manuevering. Wearing a weight vest allows me to keep up with the fast fall rate while staying the middle of my "range" - ie still able to pop up or drop down as needed and able to perform turns without floating up. Whether you like it or not, if you are a featherbutt and you want to do RW you will probably end up wearing weights. A vest or a belt aren't the only ways to carry weight; most container manufacturers offer weight pockets on the rig as an option. Don't forget to add how every many pounds/kg's you'll be wearing to your exit weight when you are deciding on a main canopy size... pull and flare, lisa [/qoute] sorry i missed this post wasnt being rude to ya. yer i agree they r usefull most of the teams i have met use them and they r really experienced. i just meant when u r a student if u keep on using it you can get lazy

  16. sure we all know u r a sex addicted frog :-)
  17. Try to talk about the technical stuff more than the "its awesome!" stuff. Show her how to arch. maybe throw a joke into there, something about learning how to arch right, and being more *flexible* now. Ask her to show you how she arches or something. granted, you might end up dropping the convo, but thats not the only thing that might be dropping (clothes too :) make the wife enjoy it :) good luck, froggie u evil little frog u :-)Well sex does make up everything

  22. Poster: MarkM Subject: Re: Low Hook Turns Kill In reply to: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i agree with everything but it just affects them. that is wrong if some one goes on it affects the whole of the skydiving comunity it affects there family the name of the sport and any witnesses it can also affect anyone who the colide with. so yes it is there own choice and i aggree we shouldnt ban it totally but there choices do affect others -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The above is an attitude that really annoys the hell out of me. It cracks me up that people will throw themselves out of airplanes, but then get all upset when another person hooks in a landing. Yeah, those people really don't need to "push it" and do hook turns. But then you really don't need to jump out of airplanes in the first place, do you? Look in the mirror a little before you get all judgemental on people who do hook turns or maybe don't choose to wear an AAD or even an altimeter. was this aimed at me if it was i was aggreeing that it is there choice and should be their choice the same with cypres what i was arguing with was wether or not it affected others which it does
