It goes so far back I can just remember seeing images of it on TV and getting the sense that I had to try it when I got older. With the ignorance of a whuffo I had thoughts of it being tranquil and peaceful, like a leaf floating on the air. Withouut trying to sound crass, it's best to do it when you have a boner. It helps get the thing you don't want to cut out of the way. Anyway, going back to the original title of this thread, my reasons why women skydivers are so cool are (in no order of preference or importance) :- 1) They are gorgeous. 2) They are friendly. 3) They offer good support and advice. 4) Because their hips are structured slightly differently than men, their arching skills during training are more impressive. 5) They are gorgeous. The one thing that would have benefitted me more than anything else for the initial AFF jumps was flexibility. Sure strength and stamina are important too, but for me, it was that flexibility that I needed more than anything. I'm working regularly to extend and stretch all the areas associated with holding a good arch. I was stiff as a board when I tried Level 3 for the first time. A skysurfer could have used me beneath his feet. I'm hoping these stretches will work to give me the confidence to eventually push through to level 8. Good luck with your AFF. There was a very popular Breakfast Show in the early nineties here in the UK called The Big Breakfast. Two alien puppets were made famous on this show going by the names of Zig & Zag. I had a picture of mine shown on their ickle show, which I drew using a computer (Remember this was about 13 years ago). The picture was entitled :- "Sad Zig. He's Lost His Paper Clip Collection." Whenever you get a lot of different people together, (DZ Excluded),especially in the workplace, your always gonna meet someone you don't get along with, but you still deal with them professionally. But every now and again, like you've discovered, you will have to work with someone that surpasses evil. My previous boss was one. I say was one because after two years of harrassment from her, not just to me but to the other 7 people in her department, I filed a grievance against her ass. 6 Months after that grievance she left. There are too many examples to indicate how evil she was, so I'll just detail one. We were in a meeting where she suggested a wipe board to be put up in the middle of the department, designed to record absences from our desks. Whenever we went to another department, a meeting or lunchbreak we had to write these details on the board. Where we were going, what time we left and what time we expected to return. And this had to be adhered to even if we just popped over to another part of the building to drop off a report. Anyway, the worst part was when she told us that we even had to record when we went to the toilet. Yep, that's right. If she had her way, the board standing in the middle of the department would let everyone know when each one of us was taking a dump. Fortunately I told her that there was no way in hell that I was going to do that and if she pushed the issue she would be speaking to a Union Rep. Eventually she backed down but I was still amazed that she genuinely did not see a problem in us estimating how long it would take us to take a piss and detailing that on the board. No-one in my family is younger than 32, and it did get to the point where none of us could think of gifts we wanted for birthdays or christmas. It got to the point where we just gave money or gift vouchers everytime a birthday came up. After a couple of years I had to put a stop to it. What's the point of Me giving a £30 gift certificate for something when I will get an equivalent gift certificate on my birthday that cancels it out. My sister tried to hide behind "It's the thought that counts" comment, but that to me was just an easy cop-out. I told them that if they couldn't think of anything they wanted then I wasn't going to give them anything, it was then that you kind of realise that as you get older you place less value on material things and it's just as much a special gift to go out for a meal with your family than to have the latest CD or DVD. That said, I am a materialist so I haven't quite reached that point of enlightenment, but I do see it's there ahead of me. It must be if I can see and agree with those words you've posted. Nice one. I'm so bored of food here in work that even when my stomach is telling me that I'm hungry I haven't got an appetite to eat. We only have one place here that sells 'healthy' sandwiches within walking distance and I've been going there every day for the last year or so. Their selection hasn't changed so, despite the sandwiches being of excellent quality, I am now bored of the food. I've reached the point where I'd rather be hungry for the afternoon until I get home than to eat the same stuff again. Am I a screwed up individual or what ?
