3. "Other schools like to fill out the yellow license card just once, at the end of the program, but document progress in the student logbook after each jump." Thanks for the update, Tom The above is the scenario I'm in. I've got a current logbook, but only received my yellow card after asking for it, and it's not filled out. My JM has a file on every student which may include more detail than the logbook. I'll try to get the file, when I attempt to "cash-in" my remaining jump ticket. 4. Saturday was a beautiful day in eastern Pennsylvania. After taking care of some work around the house, I threw my gloves, alti & jump book in the truck - and off to the DZ. I planned on making my AFF level 13, 14 & 15 jumps in the sun. Upon arriving at the DZ, I was greeted by some stern looking club members, and jumpers that told me the club may no longer be in operation, pending an emergency meeting that evening. I learned from a friend (AFF L9) on Sunday, that the club had indeed been disbanded, and our AFF continuation could not take place there. Has this happened to any of you guys/gals? A friend was jumping at another DZ (farther away) over the weekend, and said we could continue there, after a training session, but they want to see our "yellow cards" in addition to our jump books. Our JM hasn't filled in any data on our yellow cards, saying "I'll do it all at once, when you take your test". I also have a $75.00 jump ticket in my wallet for jump #13 !! We are supposed to call our JM on Wednesday, but it sounds like we are likely to get hosed. How does the dissolution of a DZ usually affect learning progression ? Pissed off in PA. ----------------=8^)---------------------- "I think that was the wrong tennis court."

9. WE have one mid-sixties C-182, and a 1985 C-185 Skywagon (taildragger). They both run decent, but everyone looks forward to the Boogie, when the Super Otter comes to "town". ----------------=8^)---------------------- "I think that was the wrong tennis court."

14. "You can buy "Issue" Military Free Fall double zipper jumpsuits for about $20 at a surplus store. You can usually pick them up in a range of colors from black....to well....black.... Or a pilots flight suit in tan or green for around the same price." --------------------------------------------------------- I got this off a thread back on page 5, and I've been looking for one of these puppies at Army-Navy, and surplus stores in eastern PA - no luck. I think at my experience level (AFF L12), this would be the way to go. The "loaners" at the DZ don't fit (6'-2", 210), and are pretty nasty. Some of my landings have been train wrecks, and I don't want to blow a couple hundred on a nice RW suit - until my landings are more consistent. Anyone know how to hook up with this military gear? New or used. Thanx ----------------=8^)---------------------- "I think that was the wrong tennis court."

This piece was built in 4/98. ----------------=8^)---------------------- "I think that was the wrong tennis court."
21. My favorite is a Ruger Super Redhawk, in .44 mag., with Tasco PDP-5 red dot optics, and a 9 1/2" pipe. Big fun. Loud noise. 6 holes close together. ----------------=8^)---------------------- "I think that was the wrong tennis court."
22. It may be wise to consider the venerable 1911 Model .45ACP designed by Mr. John Browning. For guys that like their firearms made of STEEL. I've owned/carried one for several years now, and have no complaints. There are also thousands of accurizing/customizing parts available for this classic cannon. ----------------=8^)---------------------- "I think that was the wrong tennis court."
23. A little useful info. for the Skyhotties. (Creep attack prevention) FYI Cell Phone Feature #77 on your cell phone. I never even knew about this #77 feature! This actually happened to someone's daughter. Lauren was 19 yrs old and in college. This story takes place over the Christmas/New Year's holiday break. It was the Saturday before New Year's and it was about 1 PMin the afternoon, and Lauren was driving to visit a friend. An UNMARKED police car pulled up behind her and put his lights on. Lauren's parents have 4 children (high school and college age) and have always told them never to pull over for an unmarked car on the side of the road, but rather wait until they get to a gas station, etc. So Lauren had actually listened to her parents advice, and promptly called #77 on her cell phone to tell the police dispatcher that she would not pull over right away. She proceeded to tell the dispatcher that there was an unmarked police car with a flashing red light on his rooftop behind her. The dispatcher checked to see if there was a police car where she was and there wasn't and he told her to keep driving, remain calm and that he had back-up already on the way. Ten minutes later 4 cop cars surrounded her and the unmarked car behind her. One policeman went to her side and the others surrounded the car behind. They pulled the guy from the car and tackled him to the ground..........the man was a convicted rapist and wanted for other crimes. I never knew that bit of advice, but especially for a woman alone in a car, you should not pull over for an unmarked car. Apparently police have to respect your right to keep going to a "safe" place. You obviously need to make some signals that you acknowledge them (i.e., put on your hazard lights) or call #77 like Lauren did. Too bad the cell phone companies don't give you this little bit of wonderful information. So now it's your turn to let your friends know about #77 ----------------=8^)---------------------- "I think that was the wrong tennis court."
24. The guy just got back to me. The goddamn thing sold last week. Looked like the perfect rig for a new guy my size. Oh well, will file your info for future use. Thanks ----------------=8^)---------------------- "I think that was the wrong tennis court."
25. Hi I have been shopping on the internet for my first rig - and found one that I, and a rigger, both think is a decent deal. How is payment usually handled? I know the shipping is on me, but I want to be able to return this thing if it fails inspection - and not lose my hard earned cash. Sure would appreciate some help from you more experienced folks ----------------=8^)---------------------- "I think that was the wrong tennis court."
