  1. Am I the only one who doesn't like cookies or desserts in general? I was just never really into them. I will occasionally eat chocolate chip cookies or ice cream, but other than that...Oh, but I am that guy that picks the crust off all the pies.
  2. I was on a load where we didn't fully plan/agree on our landing direction. The wind was low and variable, but we had landed the same direction for the last 3 jumps. Me and another guy planed to land the same way, but we ended up being the only ones landing against everybody else. There was high traffic on my final approach and the wind was gusting, I was scared to land down/crosswind. I saw a break in the traffic and decided to cut across and squeeze in before the next guy landed. We all landed fine, but I probably fucked up the next guy's final approach. I don't think it was fully my fault, but I should have just taken the downwind landing. I panicked.
  3. My phone has texting Some of these apps sound cool. I want a smartphone, I just don't want the monthly bill.
  4. I would hold off. Even after I got my A I thought I just wanted my own rig that I could safely land. But once you get comfortable, you start to seek performance. You may want a little more after flying for awhile.
  5. Mine was too. I never got a ticket because of that, or my exH being a cop too, or because everyone knew me from working in the court. I knew I wouldn't get in trouble but I remember running across a fairway at the country club where we were partying when I was a teenager. I tripped on a sprinkler when the cop was yelling at us to stop running. He caught up to us and said to me something along the lines of, You're XXXXX's daughter. Why did you guys run when you know you're not getting into trouble?" I still have a little scar on my shin from that fkn sprinkler. Hahaha. My first time getting pulled over I got stopped twice in 1 day Both cops said "I know your dad", and let me go. I get kind of embarrassed and feel guilty. One time I did a burnout in my Mustang and didn't see the 2 cop cars parked right down the road (it happened to be in my dad's town). The cop almost ripped me out of the car until he saw it was me, so he just punched me in the arm and sent me on my way. Another time I got stopped in his town and the cop saw my officer's son badge. He said "where does your dad work?". I was like "um..this town ". It gets awkward, especially that the cops come into my work and sometimes come to my house. I'll go downstairs in the morning to get cereal and see 2 on duty cops that busted the party I was at the night before chilling in my kitchen.
  6. What is considered the safest camera setup? Are wrist mounts less hazardous than helmet mounts?
  7. Yea, delivering is kind of like hustling. Sometimes I would make my own tips. I delivered to an area where the people weren't the brightest, and when I asked "do you need change?", they would stare for a minute trying to calculate in their head, and I would have to chime in and help them. It was great having weekly pay and then on top of that bringing home cash every night. I was always grateful for those people who gave huge tips like $10 or $20. It really helped balance out all the bad tips. I just delivered fruit as a side job on Thanksgiving morning and got almost no tips. Then on my last delivery I got a nice tip that really made my day.
  8. Nobody ever actually asked for the change, they would just give me say $12 when the bill is $11.75 and not say anything. But a few times I got change as a tip, or change as part of the total bill, and I would throw it in their driveway.
  9. I delivered pizza for 3 years, there are a lot of factors, but mainly I used this layout: No tip -your scum $1-2 -Your cheap $3 -Fair $4-5 -Good tip $5+ -Great tip That was for delivering in a small town. Some deliveries were literally a minute away, so getting $2 wasn't bad. But sometimes I'd drive a 20 minute round trip and get $2. That would suck. Like mentioned, it is kind of a dangerous job. For one, your driving around all day..thats dangerous enough. Then your carrying lots of money and its known that your are. Also, your driving up to a stranger's house and entering their property..There were many times I feared of getting mauled by a dog or murdered by weirdo who ordered sardines on his pizza.
  10. Well I'm only 21 so I don't have that many stories, but I guess the best thing my parents did for me was support me financially. They have always been very conservative when it comes to money..they have a lot of money, but they never buy or do anything "cool", as I would say. But I guess their way of life when it comes to saving rubbed off on me in my earlier years because at 19 I bought a $20k car by myself. They payed for my community college, and recently lent me all the money for my skydiving rig, which I'm paying back now..slowly. Also my dad is a cop, so not that I speed a lot, but I have never gotten a ticket because of that.
  11. I don't really use specific numbers, there seems to never be an accurate number anyway and there are tons of other factors. Sometimes I only jump if students are jumping. Other times I just use my gut feelings. There was a time I was willing to jump, but I saw someone with more experience than me debating, so I decided to stay grounded so I wouldn't influence them to go. I think confidence plays a huge part in canopy flight, if I really think I'll be okay, I'll jump, and maybe gain some experience in doing so.
  12. NY Giants. I have a good feeling this year.
  13. ^ Haha thats great. That dream happened to be cool and fun. Anytime I freefall in my dreams its awesome, but under canopy it usually goes bad. My subconscious knows I have a lot of fears with canopy piloting.
  14. On car forums a lot of people post illegal activity, like street racing, so they hide their plates. I happen to use a custom plate for all my shoots just for looks, I could care less if someone sees my real plate.
  15. There are a ton of these threads floating around and I decided to bump this one because damnit I want to share my dream from last night! So in my dream I wanted to skydive, but for some reason couldn't. Next thing I know I'm on a plane (I think it was supposed to be a 182, but the inside looked like a living room with couches and stuff) and everyone has a rig on accept me. I say "what the hell..you guys are going?!"..everyone just looked at me like, yea, duh.. So I tell the pilot I really wanted to go and asked him to take me down to get my rig, which we do. Then I'm back in the plane on the way up and I realize I forgot to put my rig on..so I start to put it on, only I can't stand up in the plane to put it on properly, so I sort of just slide it halfway on and fold straps in and out of each other and tuck them away in random spots. I walk to the front of the plane and ask "is this like ok?". The pilot looked at me and laughed "good luck with that.." and opened his door for me to jump. So I jumped. The whole freefall I could hear the pilot laughing at me. Then I pulled and ended up with 2 canopies out and I defied gravity several times to dodge bridges and other large obstructions until I finally crash landed into shallow water in what appeared to be Singapore. Also just realized this is not the Bonfire section..
  16. Interesting! I've been to about that many shows as well. I have a 2003 Mach 1 though
  17. I have a Mach 1 Mustang and I like Dave Matthews Band. I use this name for all forums because ain't nobody got time to remember multiple login names.
  18. Get gloves. Keep your hands loose the entire trip to altitude. I keep my hands in a fist.
  19. We didn't get any trick-or-treaters this year. Kind of depressing. I would enjoy living in a neighborhood with tons of kids running around. I've also always wanted to hand out chocolate covered onions to the people without costumes.
  20. I don't see the problem. Seems like the parents are the ones trying to create a stir. I would be impressed if my kid took initiative for extra credit to go, on his own, to tour a brewery, then spent $100's of his own money to order home-brew equipment and spend a few months brewing alcohol, that probably would taste like crap the first few times. If you have a problem with that then you should check your parenting priorities.
  21. I've done more sick things on a phone before, and I was paying by the minute.
  22. I'm thinking about getting a beer bottle or a burning wallet
  23. Like others said, I would say I'm looking forward to getting one out of the way. I just hope it happens 1, when I'm close to needing a repack, 2, at the end of the day/jump week, and 3, when I have enough jumps to use a camera so I get it on film!
