myself and another jumper just went from Newark to San Juan on Continental, no problems what so ever at either ariport with the rigs as carry on. Mine was in a gear bag, and the other was out in the open. both have cypress's in them and we didn't even get a funny look BUNGE I don't hate them, I just like us better.

when i transitioned from a manta to a sabre 210, the DZO (whos rig i was jumping) told me: play witht he canopy up high. find the point where it planes out, and then find its stall point. when you are on final, dont flare where you used to. Wait till you think you are about to slam into the ground, count to 2, then plane out, when you feel the sinking, flare the rest of the way. its been working for me ever since! all my siblings except one, and a nephew, and a cousin have made multiple tandems . I am the only one who has gone as far as to get licensed, but we do enjoy spending days at the DZ together. my oldest brother has gone as far as to host water training at his home whenever we need to use a pool! My best friend and jumping partner, also has a 10 year old daughter who is counting down the days till she turns 18 to start jumping, there are times i think she knows more about skydiving than some of the 1st year jumpers! Don't be too hard on yourself. Like many other things, the first step sucks. its comon for the first jump to be sensory overloading. try to concertrate on the positive, Did you feel the hacky on the PRCP's? i don't pack for a living, but when i pack for friends, esp. if its a canopy i havent packed before, i ask the person how they like it packed, pro, flat, psyco, nose open, nose tucked, nose rolled. after a while you will get to know what canopies like what done to them as well. i live 15 from Skydive Jersey Shore. A little part of me loves the tiny cessna DZ's and the view of the ocean is awsome, and i am quasi staff there. if i have the whole weekend off from my paying job, i usually spend one day at Jersey shore and one at CK BUNGE I don't hate them, I just like us better.

Parachutes Over Palm Springs is where I learned to Jump. Unfortunately, they are no more. The original DZO got out of the Business a few years after a stroke grounded him from jumping and flying. I know one Fun jumper in the desert tried to keep a tandem operation open there, but it faded away too. Last i heard, Al Champlain was still working a appointment only operation, but even that group membership is no longer listed. BUNGE I don't hate them, I just like us better.

I'm happy that one of the DZ's I jump at regulary is only 15 minutes from my house. before they opened, Crosskeys was the nearest at 1 1/2 hours travel time. (Still love to go there at least twice a month!) BUNGE I don't hate them, I just like us better.
