  1. Wow, Ed .. that's some old info. Chris is [email protected] . You can find him at http://www.skydivecity.com/html/staff/ Even better would be to PM me and I'll make sure you and him connect. I'm over 400 w/s jumps now, but I won't be available that weekend. Chris has a couple new suits I know he'd love to get you into. Make sure you've got of the right gear, you're current, etc and you should be good to go. Scott
  2. I've tried just about every method, but for my Icon/Pilot150 I've settled on the standard packing method (grommet towards reserve), long bridle and standard corners. That gives me good openings 95% of the time .. the other 5% I chalk up to lazy throws and bad kharma. I have heard people complain of line twists that insisted on unzipping their arms during deployment. Unless the ground is about to slap you I think I'd wait until the canopy is open before messing with the zippers. Cross your arms over your chest after you throw the PC (my choice) or fly through the deployment sequence. My 2 cents. Scott
  3. The bill hit my credit card, if that counts.
  4. Does this question REALLY need an answer?
  5. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1668805;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread
  6. .. of Arrow Dynamics. I need to get more visors for my old Apache helmet. Please PM me if you know how I can contact him. Scott
  7. You've got it right. I couldn't get used to the motion and switched back to the BOC.
  8. Matt ... Me, Chris and my new WS flyer Mike will certainly be there. Omar said he might show too. It should be a sweet cloud day!
  9. Chris and I should have our Phi's in June. Drop by Z-Hills if you'd like to have a look. No drooling please.
  10. Scalloped trailing edges have been shown to improve airfoil performance ... http://www.eurocbc.org/humpback_flipper_aerodynamics_applied_to_plane_design_10may2004page1594.html Whether or not that research applies here I don't know. But I do know the Phi looks like it's going 100mph while it's standing still! Sweet! Scott Scott
  11. Skydive City has me and Chris Ware. Let Chris (call Skydive City) or me (PM me here) know when you're coming this way and we can make arrangements. Of course, Deland has wingsuit instructors too. There are questions ... do you have a suit or do you need one? What main do you have? Is your handle BOC? How current are you? ... the usual stuff. Wingsuit season starts here in May when the GORGEOUS cumulus clouds start their slow march across the state. Flocking takes a backseat as the clouds beckon. I can't wait. Scott
  12. It's lighter by a least half. Between the lighter weight and the reworked attachment to the PC it should be much less likely to knot or drop into the PC. Scott
  13. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=1503247;page=2;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25; Look for Moonglo's post.
  14. After seeing Jen's malfunction during Z-Flock and Dock I swapped my hackey for a PVC handle. Paragon rigging did the work, tacking it through the middle as well as both ends. I cut a piece of foam from a pool noodle to stuff in it so my finger won't get stuck in the hole. Back to the '80's, huh? Scott
  15. Hey Chuck .. check out my buddy (Bill) near me in his GTi. He doesn't have any problem extending his legs. Flying relative .. gotta love it.
  16. The pic James posted was Sunday after a few folks had skipped out. Saturdays loads topped out around 28 people split into 2 Otters! I'm still working through pics, but here's a few from Perry. scott and bill ... Bill saw I had some gum on my shoe and was kind enough to get it off. matt grins ... Matt's sh*t-eating grin as he swoops between Aubrey and Perry Friday 10way ... one of our first day jumps More later.... Scott
  17. I missed thanking the sponsors of the meet: Morpheus Technologies Phoenix-Fly Sunshine Factory Skydive City Go-Fast Alti-2 There were some great prizes handed out Saturday night, and the chances of winning were about 1 in 3 ... a lot better odds than the lottery! I'd like to point out something in Todd's 16way.jpg photo ... obviously the flock must move at the rate of its slowest-forward/fastest-downward flyer. The guy (Bill) in the middle of the shot is a pretty big guy in a GTi and he's nearing the best he can do. The V-1's are flying really dirty to stay in place. The point is that compatible weights/suits will enable flocks to fly optimally (oh yeah, and ability to fly the suit to its best). So if you're a bigger person in a GTi or Classic and want to flock with V-1's, you may want to consider upgrading your wingsuit. This excepts those light folks like Anni and Omar ... put either of you in a V-1 and I'll be drinking in the bar before you open! Scott
  18. I can't be sure of that dive, but during the 3 days we worked on horizontal formations which reached about 24, purely vertical formations which reached about 9 and mixed horizontal/vertical formations around 14. It's going to take awhile to sort through the data ... I have over 10G of pics and video from Perry and Darren. There's no way to thank everyone ... Rob and Kathy from Morpheus, Robi Pecnick, James (where's my beer?!), Cancer Chris, TK and the whole Z-Hills staff, Perry for all that incredible video (will you name that bump on your head after me?) ... and all you flockers who came ... Bill, Paul, Matt, Marc, Greig, Jenn (ditch that hackey!), Larry, Darren, Luke, Aubrey, Omar, Petter, Baxter, Anni, Scotty, Kris, Mike and many more. I think we had about 30 people all told with 28 on Saturday. YOU PEOPLE ROCK! It was really a privledge to help organize you guys and we all learned SO much. I can only promise that the next time will be even better with 3D dives I can only begin to picture. I'll work on the video and stills, but I've got several real-life things that will slow me down. I'll post when I've got somthing in a finished form. I've got everything from Perry and Darren. Send me a message if you've got anything else I missed. In the meantime here's a couple of shots that jump out at me.. a shot of our partially complete stack (with 7 people and 3 different types of wingsuits) and another of our double-arrow mixed horizontal and vertical dive. I'm sunburned, sore all over (especially my ankle) and bone tired .. WHAT a GREAT time this weekend!! THANKS! Scott
  19. I'll be looking for you, Darren! Bring that new V-1!
  20. For those of you on the fence whether or not to attend ... we have over 20 people pre-registered, 2 Twin-Otters (3 if we really need them), Robi-bird, organizers, beer, food ... and gorgeous weather predicted. Be there!
  21. Do the SugarGlider folks have a website yet??? Any demo suits out there yet??
  22. I crashed my powered paraglider .. fortunately my body (ankle first) broke most of its fall. If you're gonna be stupid, you better be tough they say ...
  23. My ankle is mended enough to make some dives now .. so I'll be out there Sat and/or Sun. Chris, Bill, Omar and the rest of you are welcome to show for some big-way warm-up dives. We'll be dusting off those "hold-still" flying skills and testing out the pilot's ability to fly the pattern we've agreed on. Make sure to bring beer money to the Flock and Dock!! FYI ... be sure to download the info packet from www.baserigs.com or http://www.skydivecity.com/html/calendar/documents/Z-FlockandDock.pdf Scott
  24. You won't be making solo's unless you want to. BTW, Chris loves to take pictures!
  25. This whole thread is a real eye-opener. I'm going to switch out my hackey handle for a golf whiffle-ball this weekend. I just don't need the kind of surprises I've been reading about here!
