  1. Could the rise in obesity have anything to do with this trend? Obesity has been described as approximately 10% genetics, 10% physical activity and about 80% diet. We choose what we eat. If we choose poorly, if we eat all the wrong foods, we gain weight and our health suffers. Some people may need help being educated in how to eat healthier. But no amount of Big Government programs will make people eat healthy. If someone wants to eat better and live a healthier life, they must be proactive. It's not easy, but the choice is a personal one and people must take personal responsibility to ensure they eat the right food if they want to live longer healthier lives. Oh and what's with this slant on "Women's Life Expectancy"? I guess when Progressives are bored playing the Race Card they jump on the Gender Card bandwagon. 2. Since when was the German Chancellor ever a celebrity? A politician yes, a leader of a G8 nation yes. But a celebrity? Huh? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  3. When the two largest northern land mass countries, Russia and Canada are both experiencing -30s°C at the same time, you know this is not some localized weather issue. Al Gore and David Suzuki are full of shit. The exact opposite of what they said would happen, is happening. There is no shortage of very cold air full of moisture (in other words, snow) here in North America and it sounds like the same can be said for most of the North on the other side of the Globe. 4. Of course back when nickles had pictures of bears on them, nobody outside of downhill racers wore helmets, but actually a lot of people are wearing brain buckets these days. It's not mandatory, so not everyone wears them. But people do wear them, and it has been reported that Schumi was wearing a brain bucket at the time of his accident. PS: not that he is conscious to hear this, but Happy Birthday Michael. Today is his 45th birthday. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  5. It's laughable how the Progressive chattering classes still have their panties bunched up in a wad wondering how a man like Rob Ford with all his personal faults can still have the support of so many despite his poor choices and some lies to try and hide these poor choices. Let me sum this up in as least words as possible. The tax payers who struggle to keep their heads above the muck are sick and tired of the Progressive's Culture of Entitlement and are sick and tired of the BS the Progressive's media continue to push. Yes a sometimes drunk, sometimes drugged out, obese and lying SOB still does a much better job as Mayor than any of the entitled Progressive elites has ever done. 6. I can't help but notice that the vast majority of politicians are lawyers (at least they are up here in Canuckistan). Get ride of one and you might cull the other. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

  11. MS will never be the same (assuming he even pulls through). I am well aware of the dangers of skiing. But I did work as a volunteer ski patroller (as well as worked one year as a pro patroller) in the late 80s early 90s at Lake Louise and got a rather close in your face view of skiing accidents. Most injuries were sprained thumbs followed by injured knees and most accidents occur after lunch when the drunks got out of the bars, or occur at the end of the day on the slick intermediate slopes when people got tired and lost control. But every once in a while you could get called to a nasty accident scene and you really needed to be able to desensitize yourself to the carnage to do the job effectively. 12. I know the gay lobbyist want to push their gay agenda during the up and coming Winter Olympic Games in Sochi Russia. But looks like they will take 2nd billing to the Islamist Chechen terrorists who have killed more than 26 people and counting in two separate bombings from Volgograd, Russia in the last two days. Yesterday 16 people died when a female suicide bomber detonated her explosives in a train station and today at least 10 more have died when a bomb went off in a Trolley Bus in the same city. I know if I was headed to Sochi for the Olympics I would be concerned. Russia is far from perfect, they have their issues. But they do not deserve this crap. 15. In the 1990s, when the "Liberal Party of Canada" brought in their beloved 2 billion dollar gun registry, many law abiding firearms owners in Western Canada said F-YOU, they took the risk of being an instant criminal in the eyes of Liberal justice system and never bothered to registered their firearms (mainly hunting rifles and shotguns). Today there are millions of assets that lay dormant here in Western Canada. So yes the official stats are not accurate. The actual number of firearms are much higher. 16. Celsius makes much more sense than Fahrenheit. Celsius is easy to use and understand. Water boils at 100 degrees and it freezes at zero. 212 and 32? Who came up with than nonsense? The metric system is logical what with everything working off of base 10. However as a Canuckistani who's head splits in two when I talk, I do have to say I am still reliant on the Imperial system when it comes to weight. I have no idea how many Kilograms I weigh. Without googling it, I am clueless on the matter. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. I have never had to endure something as cold as -48C, but I must deal with -30C several times every winter here in Canuckistan and at -30C it begins to hurt. I can only imagine what -48C must be like. Ouch Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  18. Are you serious? Posing with firearms desensitizes children to the dangers of a firearm? What desensitizes children to the dangers of firearms are: 1) Parents who neglect their jobs of raising children to be respectful towards life. 2) Hollywood Progressives who continue to produce their violent movies. Now I am not calling for Hollywood to be censored (even though the vast majority of the movies Hollywood produces these days are pure garbage). But if you want to find the source of who has desensitized children towards the dangers of firearms, it is poor parenting and the make believe world called Hollywood. Back to this family, please provide us proof that they have not educated their children on the dangers of firearms. I do not know this family, I have no proof that they have been taught to respect firearms, but once again I wish to live in a society where people are "Innocent until proven guilty". I have to step out away from the 'puter. Have fun trying to defend your ideological intolerance. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  19. I have no proof that the firearms in this photo were unloaded just as you have no proof that the firearms are loaded. But I wish to live in a society where people are "Innocent until proven guilty" and I am assuming that the adults in this family are responsible people, that they verified that each and every firearm was indeed unloaded and safe to handle by anyone including children. Yes I know, it is an assumption, but there is that "Innocent until proven guilty" thing again. However if these firearms were indeed unloaded, how the heck are they more dangerous than any other inanimate object? The whole reason why you started this thread was because you are offended by a family holding firearms in a family picture. Do you have any proof that this family has a history of irresponsible firearms use? Do you have any proof that this family has a history of using firearms in crimes? Unless you have proof, you are just showing the rest of us just how intolerant Progressives are to all those who do NOT consume their ideological Progressive koolaid. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  20. Seriously you are upset over this photo? What a fucking joke. Your progressive panties are stained and starting this thread just proves to us what a weenie you are. Yes assume every firearm is loaded when you first pick it up. But then what do you do? Were you taught to assume that the firearm would always remain loaded? or were you taught to verify that the firearm was or was not loaded and proceed to unload it if it was indeed loaded. I was taught to "PROVE" that the firearm was safe to handle by: Point the firearm in the safest direction. Remove all ammunition. Observe the chamber. Verify the feeding path. Examine the bore for obstructions. Once this is done, the firearm is no more dangerous than any other inanimate object. So please show us the proof where the adults in this family did NOT ensure that each and every firearm in this picture was unloaded and safe to handle prior to giving the firearms to the children in this benign family picture. I swear being Progressive is a mental disorder. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

  22. Sun TV is just asking to be treated the same way the CBC, CTV and Global TV are when it comes to access on Cable TV. But that is Sun TV. Sun Media the broader company was in print media long before Sun TV was ever brought online and the OP's article came from the print media division, not the TV channel and yet that didn't stop you from slamming them.
