1 pointYeah, because selling arms around the world, that are used to kill lots and lots of women and children is a good thing. It generates income for Trump's donors, so he gets lots of money. And the people being killed are mostly 'brown people' in 'shithole countries', so it doesn't matter. And it's also an entirely symbolic gesture. The Senate never ratified it, so the US was never a part of it. Also, it only regulates international trade. So the idea that it would affect US citizens obtaining arms inside the US is simply a lie.

1 pointSome social security benefits are also paid out to children who have never (and may never) paid into SS. Kids born with a variety of mental and physical ailments are eligible to receive benefits. some of my money goes there, and I'm well more than okay with it. This IS the right thing for a society to do.

1 pointAs soon as I found out you were a libertarian, I kinda checked out of the conversation. I have a brother who is a card-carrying libertarian, and it is too difficult arguing with him. Personal freedom is paramount, even at the cost of a happier healthier society. You also seem to be willing to make that trade, society as a whole may suffer so you can feel better about your wide array of choices. Thankfully we are just shooting the shit on a forum, so no need to work toward something that could become law.

1 pointHello everyone, glad to be here. I just completed my second tandem jump this weekend. I will be starting AFF next month. I'm hoping to get some good advice here to help me through my AFF course.

1 pointWolf is right about staying Hydrated an well fed. Stay healthy and stretch often. You will be suprised at how sore you can get after a few jumps. Bring a lunch an bunch of snacks. Lots of water. If im not picking some jumpers brain for advise im either eating, stretching, or sleeping. Above all else once you get over the I could die doing this thought you will start to have so much fun either during freefall or under canopy. They are 2 totally different experiences..Enjoy them both. Listen to your coaches and don't over think anything. Stay loose an hold your arch.

1 pointMore protection on landing. Less snag hazards. Yes, controlling fall rate. The miltary has a saying, "Train like you fight." Works here too. Less prone to covering a handle? Old timers here will remember a post from Sangiro when his shirt did exactly that. And he knew what he was doing.

1 pointBetter un-employed than dead. Manufacturers hold TIs responsible for reserves being in date. If the rig owner refuses to show you the packing data card .... refuse to jump that rig. Some DZs prefer to keep PDC in a filing cabinet ..... fine ..... but they should still be available to TIs. If anyone tries to rush your pre-flight gear checks .... tell them to “mellow out!”

1 pointDisappointed? Shouldn't even be surprised at this point. Spaceland and Skydive Chicago have been doing Single instructor training ever since Roger Nelson pioneered in the 90's. Do these BOD members even have a clue of what's happening in the Real world? How about doing something about keeping costs down? Less Government restriction (ADSB) and how about recognizing those that try to make a career outta this? Plenty of more important stuff than what is being addressed beside these BS stuff. Jeesh!

1 pointSoooooo, The BOD meeting in Wisconsin is now over. As per usual, they decided to pass out awards and the usual blah, blah, blah. An interesting note is the decision to donate 25K per yr for the next 5 yrs to the NSM. Seems every month in Parachutist we hear all about how tight money is and the USPA can't afford this or that. National teams need public support to compete at World meets. And these are the type of decisions they come up with. Does anyone else think this is NOT the best the USPA can do?
