JaapSuter 0 #2 April 12, 2005 What are the recommended skill prerequisites for flying this suit? I guess it is somewhere in between traditional wingsuits and the pants/jacket setup?
unclecharlie95 3 #3 April 12, 2005 The Prodigy is a perfect wingsuit for new pilots. The normal recommendations apply - 200 jumps in 18 months or 500 jumps total. (Note: in the UK, BPA recommendation is 250 jumps in 18 months)BASEstore.it

unclecharlie95 3 #6 April 12, 2005 QuoteHow will the performance compare to other suits, say a Classic 2 or GTi? In forward speed, glide ratio etc This is always a "gray" area as there are many factors that affect performance. From the flocking dives we made at Z flock and the BASE flights I made with GPS I have found the Prodigy sits between the Classic and GTi in terms of performance (but closer to the GTi). More forward speed than I used to get on my Classic but still slow vertical speed. On my early flights I was getting verticals in the 50 mph zone and horizontals in the 80mph zone, so GR around 1.6 - 1.7 :1. It will be interesting to do another jump with the GPS now I have had more practice with the suit. JBASEstore.it

MarkM 0 #8 April 12, 2005 Nice. Only $650 too? I take it releasing the wing grips would be the equivilant of cutting away a bird man suit's wings? ex/ you're in a flat spin and can't recover.

This glide, if your numbers are correct, should put you over LZ at Italian terminal wall bsbd! Yuri.

TomAiello 25 #12 April 12, 2005 Quote yes :) it is just passing over the hill low that I don't fancy :p On my Classic, a long time ago, I dumped too late after realizing I wouldn't clear that hill. I ended up landing (quite soon after dumping) on one of the trails on the back of the hill. I still have the screws in my ankle. So, much as Yuri may taunt me, I think I'm with J on this one.-- Tom Aiello [email protected] SnakeRiverBASE.com

Sylvain 0 #14 April 15, 2005 Does the Prodigy require rigg modifications (longer bridle, larger PC, ...) like one-piece wingsuits ?
leroydb 0 #15 April 16, 2005 none of those mods are required. They are though suggested. I personally had my javlin moded to have cut corners after my first BM cutaway. Havent had an issue since...Leroy ..I knew I was an unwanted baby when I saw my bath toys were a toaster and a radio...
bodypilot1 0 #16 April 16, 2005 QuoteDoes the Prodigy require rigg modifications (longer bridle, larger PC, ...) like one-piece wingsuits ? You dont need to modify a container or pc to jump any wingsuit. It's only a suggested mod if you are wanting to reduce a chance of line twist or a pc hestitation. Pack gromet to pin, or gromet to bottom of container on some rigs, and do have a strong throw out on your pc to eliminate anything like this form happening. Be safe. Base733 0 #17 April 17, 2005 I was lucky enough to take the Prodigy for a test drive from 1600' this morning and really had a nice flight. Pulled a little high as this was my maiden voyage but the suit had great sub-terminal control, lots of forward speed, a slow fall rate and it sure was nice to be able to grab the risers without unzipping/cutting-away the wings.
