I wonder if the FBI does have the cig butts and got their DNA from the butts not the tie. That would make them justifiably confident that it was Cooper's DNA. The "missing" cig butt story always sounded a little suspicious to me.

Mrshutter45: The costs are less than $1000 according to my expert on DNA at the UofW that I talked to on my Russian trip. That would also complete the FBI's investigation of the four letters and I believe expose Sheridan as being DB Cooper. His perfect alibi would be blown and the FBI could solve their only unsolved crime very quickly. Sheridan was very smart but could not have known in advance that DNA would be used to solve the crime. The envelopes/stamps on the four letters may be the last evidence that the FBI has to look at.

I think it's ridiculous that the FBI has not released the evidence, what is the hold back, the huge net they have in waiting for Cooper? let us have a crack at it, they could even allow volunteers to upload the evidence online so there would be no cost to the tax payer! they have had 41 years and have not really gained an inch other than your typical Marla's and Knoss trying to be on top of the Cooper Mountain.

Old lady called and when I answered she hesitated and then asked who she was talking to. I understand old ladies dialing the wrong phone number - but this ONE CAME our of BEAVERTON, OR.
or Union County. She had a old but soft voice - and just hung up.

I tried to check it on the web but it is a CELL number so I would have to give my credit card on the internet and I NEVER do that.

Got screwed one time and that was ALL it took for me. I kept getting a bill on my credit card every month. I made it clear it was for the one time use - but these intel people stop at NOTHING short of putting gun to your head.

What area does Marla's crew live in?

The call could have come from anywhere else in the world other than OR or WA and I would not have given it a second thought.

If the authorities or anyone really cared enough to take a look at documented dates and incidents in the past of Weber and those which occurred during the last few yrs of his death and within the yrs afterward - they will find clues to the past. Guess I will just cry myself back to sleep and hope I can remember the good dreams.

Last night was a nightmare if you can call falling asleep at 5Am. The club was having a BOO benefit - and the acoustic from the Club to where I live was like a large sound tunnel. Mostly what I hear last night was Boom, boom boom boo be boo.

Tonight - it is not the bass I hear but Wooommm, wooo, Woommm hnummmn, dddummm..mmmm. There are two streets of homes and 2 fairways and a driving range between my house and the club.

The way my home was built it acts like a mega phone for sound coming from next door or across the street - I even feel the vibrations in the ground from the band. I have live here for 11 yrs and never have I experienced what I have the last 2 day.

I called the sheriff's office and they told me this was a special benefit and would not be happening every week. I feel like I am living across the street from a nightclub this week-end.
Every hotel room in the area is full and people rented out rooms in their houses. Since I am in an ajoining subdivision with the homes across the street having a golf view - we were NOT part of that homeowners association and were NOT informed of this Event.

We chose this area because it was quiet and secluded and all culdesacs - never think anything is forever.

The DNA that the FBI thinks is DB's from the tie is probably from the person that helped him put on his tie the morning of the caper. They (or she) would have placed the tie bar in their mouth while putting the tie on and then finally placing the tie bar with the non DB Cooper DNA on the tie. So, the FBI could have been looking for the wrong DNA and not actually have Cooper's.


By testing the four letters for DNS under the stamps/envelopes the FBI would have the DNA of the person sending the letters and if it is a match with Sheridan Peterson, then the FBI knows that Sheridan was in Portland (scene of the crime) and not in Nepal where he told them he was for his perfect alibi.

There were hints in the four letters that only DB Cooper would have known so I think the FBI can really give more belief in the four letters and that they are not just crank letters.

keep in mind that this was a clip on tie, not a lot of help needed to put in on like other ties when someone would need help with it, the tie clip was probably already on the tie, Tom Kaye stated the clip was on for a period of time plus had a tie tack at one point that left holes in the tie.

this clip is is extremely small and fragile giving another reason to leave it on.

In addition, this statement does not hold true. Male vs. female DNA is unlike as male DNA has Y vs. the X chromosomes. If female DNA was on the tie or tie bar it would not have been used as a possible Cooper sample.

Sorry I compose my posts on the thread and if I don't send right away I loose the post. Then I go back to the post and pull it to make the corrections in grammar or add or delete something.
It is easier for me to read the print on the thread - in the posting area the print is very small and if I try to correct it - the whole post gets deleted.
