Jumpship numbers?

Recommended Posts

The other thread about dropzones got me thinking. If you're as anoraky as me and like to note in your logbook what unique aircraft you've jumped from lets hear it!

For me, grand total of 8, which again for the number of jumps I have I think is quite respectable. MY AIRCRAFT

Islander,
Nomad,
Cherokee 6 (Now out of action),
Let 410,
Twin Otter,
King Air,
Pilatus Porter,
Turbine Beaver (Now out of action)

Even the dropzone refer to it as the King Air. When you maifest they tell you your on load 'King Air Number 5' or whatever. I don't doubt I'm wrong but thats how its always been referred to. Not that it really matters :P

Whatever it is... it rocks! B|

The Kansas boogie last year was the first time I had ever jumped anything smaller than a 206 (except for the helicopter and the cub but these were both noveity jumps.) and if I never do it again, I'd be alright with that.

I think it would be cool to do a jump using 2 lil baby cessnas in formation. Just for the novelty of launching out of 2 aircraft :)

I was on a 4-way team of big boys, and we couldn't all fit in a C-182, let alone get any altitude. We did a formation load with 2+video on one C-182 and the remaining 2 members in the other. Our team varied from 200-300 pounds each (sans gear)

To keep from thread drift I will add that I have jumped out of 28 different types of aircraft.

If you want to pick nits, both the Beechcraft King Air and Beech 99 evolved from the (piston-engined) Queen Air.

Most (try 95%) parts for Beech 99s came from the King Air B90 and C90 production lines. The biggest difference is that 99 is not pressurized.
In other words, a 99 is just a stretched King Air 90 series.

They can call you to manifest with whatever they want, but you've still jumped a Beech 99! ;)

My list...

Turbolet 410

Dornier G92
Turbo Finist (SMEG ?)
Twin Squirrel
Long Ranger

I need to jump one of those lovely balloons that are always taking off from Headcorn.
