Hey all those bandit jumps out of flying milkcrates are practice for the future. When bandit jumps out of flying milkcrates is all there is...

the point I was trying to make, not hint", is this.

1. keep fucking around with tdm's and killing people
2. keep killing people under open parachutes
3. Keep doing stupid shit like jumping out of PPG's and other non approved Ac's .
4. keep on jumping base gear out of AC's and impact a bridge full of people.
5. DZO's getting half million dollar fines for MX violations
6. leaving dead bodies laying around for days till they are discovered missing.

the list goes on and on and only a fool would think that the FAA is not watching us along with other state and local agencys. Take a look what NZ is now doing to adventure aviation... you all think that shit can or won't happen here?

So keeping fucking around and not playing by the rules we now have a see if they don't bust some balls.

Q: Why do all PPG's in tandem trikes have to have an N # and you have to have a Sport PL to be legal? A: It's didn't used to be that way, but "they" have to protect the paying public.

Which could all be summed up as: " Ignoring any rule (or law) that doesn't suit and putting the evidence on U tube for the authorities viewing pleasure"

BTW re New Zealand. Jumping was banned in NZ in the late sixties after a spate of fatalities. It took SIX MONTHS of lobbying to get this reversed. How many operations would survive six months with no cash flow and legal bills to try and reverse the ban.

Just something to ponder.

Just curious what changes all of you think we might see in skydiving over the next 10/20/30 years?

Gear technology? Aircraft? Regulations? Disciplines?

If Obamacare stands, skydiving and other extreme sports will be outlawed along with jelly doughnuts and Twinkies because they increase health care costs for everyone else.

I must respectfully disagree and offer four examples in rebuttal:

Cannabis.
Coca.
Opium.
Polygamy.

Every Otter with -34s would make me happy...

Frankly I just think it is going to be more expensive.

Heard at the DZ: in the early days skydiving was dangerous and we tried to convince people it was safe; today skydiving is safe and we try to convince people it is dangerous. related to safety advances in equipment, obviously (and somewhat tongue in cheek) but the reality is that we are not dying or injuring ourselves due to equipment safety issues (for the most part) but for other reasons. Sort of makes the community an easy target for the rule-makers...

As someone mentioned earlier, out beyond near-future changes in regulations and so on, as we continue to merge with technology there will come a time when real-life experiences can not compete with virtual ones. This is already happening to a significant extent, with many people preferring to play a computer game than do a similar activity in reality. It won't be long before immersive computer entertainment will trump any physical sport or adventure activity, though.

"The Machine Stops" is a good read, I'm told.

Emulating reality is like proving a system from within the system itself. Or like masturbating. Or like "yo dawg, we put a reality inside you reality &c"

Next 30 years? A holodeck powered by quantum based computer and direct neural interaction (like a hyper-vivid stimulated lucid dream with computer induced/controlled virtual mental environments) where we can do virtual skydiving with safety protocols on (pain thresholds capped)...

Skydives of that nature were chemically induced 30 years ago...
