'More folks' is a non-sequitur. In fact Twitter's user base is projected to shrink over the next few years and nothing Elon is doing seems likely to reverse that.

It really doesn’t matter about the absolute numbers of Twitter’s base.  It just matters about the number of folks being educated on climate matters.

Agreed!  And over time we have gotten better and better at educating people.  Today, the younger you are, the more likely you are to understand climate change, and to support mitigation strategies.  More real information is getting out there now, and with younger people, there's not as much misinformation and FUD to overcome.  As the older generation dies off and/or becomes less relevant, the younger, more educated voters will set more of the climate-change policy.

From a recent Pew poll:

Oppose more offshore oil and gas drilling:
Gen Z 66%
Millenials 64%
Boomers 46%

US should phase out use of fossil fuels:
Gen Z 43%
Millenials 42%
Boomers 25%

US should prioritize alternative energy development:

How does boosting a set of ideas that aren’t strong enough to compete in the marketplace on their own help more people access the marketplace?

Noting that change happens is not the same thing as noting that change happens for a good reason.

You have it backwards, the older one becomes the more relevant one becomes.  That is why the world is largely run by folks older than fifty. OTOH Youngsters become less envious once they begin to accumulate some assets.

The world is run by folks over 50 because they have had the time to gain control. They’re relevant only so long as they maintain that control, and I doubt seriously they’d want to give it up. If they did they would immediately become irrelevant as they wouldn’t be able to compete with younger folks in attempting to regain it. Admittedly conservatism is an ideology that seeks to maintain this status quo, and you could argue this is proof that older folks somehow acquired a brain as they aged. But I think they just acquired greed and fear, the main qualities that drive one toward conservativism.

And the other only reason is the increase in life expectancy. The Founding Fathers of the US were largely not over 50, but they seem to have done a pretty good job. The older people get, generally the more they feel as though they have to protect, but it’s for a shorter and shorter period of time that they have left.

Any more, I almost alway vote among the younger candidates. It’s their world coming up. A council of elders to be consulted might be a good idea, but an elder council of rulers not so much.

Not past a certain point.  Once someone's mind starts going they generally don't vote any more.  Then they die, which makes them even less likely to vote.  (Unless they have republican relatives of course.)
