It doesn't hurt that some people want to believe that sort of garbage. They want to believe that HRC & the Dems are running a child sex ring in the basement of a pizza place. They want to believe that HRC deliberately abandoned the ambassador in Benghazi. They want to believe that HRC divulged classified material in her e-mails. They want to believe that the "liberal media" is full of lies. They want to believe that FB, Twitter & other social media are censoring conservative views, not just hatred & violence. They want to believe that Trump is a successful businessman and a 'strong leader, not a thief, con man, sexual predator, and on and on. Show them the truth and they will still believe what they want to believe.

billvon 2,402 #66 April 2, 2019 A bad day today - not for Trump, but for farmers because of Trump. If you recall, farmers across the US are having to store a lot of grain because Trump's tariffs prevent them from selling that grain overseas. (Thus worsening our trade deficit, of course.) They have been holding onto it hoping that domestic demand goes up, or that Trump cancels his farm-killing tariffs. Maybe if they can sell it, they can avoid bankruptcy, and the loss of their farms. And some have indeed found contracts that will take their grain - if they just store it for a while longer. Then it started to rain. Oh - and the money that the USDA wanted to use to compensate farmers crippled by those tariffs? Sorry, that doesn't apply to crops ruined by flooding. ========================================== U.S. disaster aid won't cover crops drowned by Midwest floods Tom Polansek APRIL 1, 2019 MALVERN, Iowa (Reuters) - The Black Hawk military helicopter flew over Iowa, giving a senior U.S. agriculture official and U.S. senator an eyeful of the flood damage below, where yellow corn from ruptured metal silos spilled out into the muddy water. And there’s nothing the U.S. government can do about the millions of bushels of damaged crops here under current laws or disaster-aid programs, U.S. Agriculture Under Secretary Bill Northey told a Reuters reporter who joined the flight. The USDA has no mechanism to compensate farmers for damaged crops in storage, Northey said, a problem never before seen on this scale. That’s in part because U.S. farmers have never stored so much of their harvests, after years of oversupplied markets, low prices and the latest blow of lost sales from the U.S. trade war with China - previously their biggest buyer of soybean exports. The USDA last year made $12 billion in aid available to farmers who suffered trade-war losses, without needing Congressional approval. The agency has separate programs that partially cover losses from cattle killed in natural disasters, compensate farmers who cannot plant crops due to weather, and help them remove debris left in fields after floods. But it has no program to cover the catastrophic and largely uninsured stored-crop losses from the widespread flooding, triggered by the “bomb cyclone” that hit the region in mid-March. . . . Indigo Ag, an agriculture technology company, identified 832 on-farm storage bins within flooded Midwest areas. They hold an estimated 5 million to 10 million bushels of corn and soybeans - worth between $17.3 million to $34.6 million - that could have been damaged in the floods, the company told Reuters. Across the United States, farmers held soybean stocks of 2.716 billion bushels as of March 1, the largest on record for the time period, the USDA said on Friday. Corn stocks were the third-largest on record.
wolfriverjoe 1,345 #67 April 2, 2019 Well, on the plus side, the floods destroying all that stored grains will reduce the surplus. That should put the price up a bit. Sucks rocks to be one of the farmers who lost most or all of last years crop though.

billvon 2,402 #71 April 3, 2019 Another thing for Trump to tweet angrily about. Damn the US justice system! No wonder he hates the FBI. ======================================= Feds are investigating possible Chinese spying at Mar-a-Lago and Cindy Yang, sources say BY JAY WEAVER Miami Herals APRIL 03, 2019 Federal authorities are investigating possible Chinese intelligence operations targeting President Donald Trump and his private Palm Beach club, Mar-a-Lago, sources familiar with the never-before-reported investigation told the Miami Herald Wednesday. The federal counterintelligence probe was turbo-charged on Saturday when U.S. Secret Service agents arrested a Chinese woman, Yujing Zhang, after they said she tried to enter the club with a bevy of electronic devices, including a thumb drive infected with “malicious malware.” The ongoing investigation has also recently focused on Li “Cindy” Yang, the sources told the Herald. Yang is a South Florida massage parlor entrepreneur who has promoted events at Mar-a-Lago with ads targeting Chinese business executives hoping to gain access to Trump and his family. The investigation — spearheaded by the FBI — began before the Herald revealed Yang’s business of selling access last month and focused on other Chinese nationals doing business in the region. Before her arrest, Zhang was unknown to federal authorities. Now, investigators with the FBI-led Joint Terrorism Task Force in South Florida are trying to figure out who Zhang is, whether she is involved in a possible Chinese intelligence mission and whether there are links to Yang’s social events at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago. ======================================

They truncated a video of him speaking that left out the context that he was specifically referring to the murderous gang MS-13. This was last year, and a lot of dumbocrats called him out for it. Media brought it up again recently. Like they just want to keep attacking Trump. I agree with Trump calling MS-13 gang members animals. They are especially depraved and callous with no regard for human life when they kill, maim and rape innocent people. But they are like that for a reason. They want to be the most feared gang of all. And it's especially galling to see certain dumbocrats in congress speak up for them.

It can easily be argued that Trump provoked the war on purpose. But it can't be proven. That's part of his genius for media manipulation.
