******Cohen got Us Weekly to kill story about alleged Trump Jr. affair: report
http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/383282-cohen-killed-an-us-weekly-story-about-alleged-trump-jr-affair

As I understand, it's not unusual for attorneys to have specialized practices.

One issue that this brings up is that if Cohen was already doing this before Trump was running for office then these things can be dismissed as not being illegal campaign contributions. I think we all know that Trump has a long history of paying his way out of compromising situations with females.

Well everyone knows trump was his own lawyer. Until he fired himself as his own counsel over a billing dispute.

They aren't illegal campaign contributions, per se. They were illegal attempts to cover up crimes, and they are campaign contributions, but they are, importantly, unreported campaign contributions.

Says who?

A lawyer I was listening to on the radio. He said Tr could make a case for it if there was no direct evidence linking it to the campaign but that he would need to demonstrate a history of paying women for their silence that was unchanged going into the election.

So if he can demonstrate a history of obstructing justice, he's off the hook for campaign finance violations?

Well if they are all NDA's how could "history" be established?

No clue. I just thought it was funny that a legal excuse for him could be that he's had to pay off so many women that he could say it's not unique to the campaign.

I can't even imagine the kind of life Melania has right now, talk about a caged spouse.

That reminds me of the local jerk who was charged with aggravated assault when he smashed his wife's nose saying that it couldn't be aggravated because he'd hit her that hard many times before. Fortunately the jury wasn't buying it..

Trump "sets the record straight" on the Stormy Daniels thing:

==========
Trump: "We're not changing any stories. All I’m telling you that this country is right now running so smooth and to be bringing up that kind of crap and bringing up witch hunts all the time. That’s all you want to talk about."

Reporter: "You said on Air Force One that you did not know anything about the payments?"

Trump: "Excuse me, excuse me. You take a look at what I said. You go back and take a look. You’ll see what I said."

Reporter: "You said no when I asked you about the payment."

Trump: "Excuse me, you go take a look at what we said."
==========

Why yes, we can do that!

Reporter: "Did you know about the $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels?"

Trump: "No."

Ex-Playboy Model, Freed From Contract, Can Discuss Alleged Trump Affair

I think that we're still assuming a Bill Clinton response to Trump's screwing around but I don't think they could be any more different. Clinton was a Democrat and a large part of his constituency was genuinely upset at what they saw as his attitude towards women.
I can't imagine a mainstream Trump supporter being upset with Trump for having sex with playboy playmates and porn stars.

Clinton voters after this stuff got out: "He's got to go!"

Trump supporters after hearing all this: You go boy!"

I’d disagree with the estimate of liberal reaction to Clinton affairs. There was talk at the time of how ridiculous it was to object to an affair, of how it would be expected in any Western European country, etc etc etc.

The “abuse of power” angle just didn’t make it into a lot of the news. And plenty of guys admired him for still “having it.” The MeToo movement hadn’t happpened yet, Harvey Weinstein was still rising, and the ejecting of CEO’s for affairs with subordinates was just beginning in the 90’s.

Just because I’m kind of embarrassed about my reaction at the time to the president (who gave my cousin the creeps when she met him) having an affair with a subordinate doesn’t make it untrue.

On OU's campus the smelly stuff hit the fan, especially as you'd guess, from the women' rights group. But it seemed like a general feeling of disgust for nearly all students. There were several protests, not just on campus but right down Court Street. And I can't help but think that one of the many things that kept HRC out of the White House was these same people finding themselves unable to vote for a wife who would put up with that. I think that if she's shot Bill no jury in the country would have found her guilty.

I think everyone just said, "Yup, figures, and surprise surprise, he's lying about something again." In the grand scheme I think the typical "Clinton voter" was thinking "Hey, at least it was consensual."

She ran a lot of Bill's accusers into the ground. Seems hypocritical of her to be a champion of women. Yeah I couldn't vote for her. I just couldn't. She knew Bill had a lot of power and clout, and she rode it for all she could.

So Stormy gets into a feud with Roseanne Barr and apparently tweeted at her "I don't even do anal movies, you ignorant twat!" in response to Roseanne's tweet that Stormy's known for anal porn.

Roseanne's right. A simple search will confirm it. :D

Happy Friday!

And President Trump was telling the truth. It has been explained ad nauseam. Time to move on.

Oh come on Ron. A lawyer is the only person who would invite you out for lunch. Then bill you for the lunch, his hourly rate, travel expenses to the lunch, his parking fees, gratuity and then add the "office supplies" surcharge on it all.

Which time? He never tells the truth. Even when there is no need to lie he does anyway. Keeps them guessing I suppose.
