She is not, IMO, sacrificing a child (which makes it sound like an open air altar, a sharp knife and moonlit chanting etc.), rather terminating an unwanted pregnancy.

You seem to be taking the position of that hippie in northern CA. That is to say, if someone draws Social Security they should support the government's position of complete socialism. I have never understood that thinking.

I, as do all working individuals, paid into SS with the understanding the administration would refund my money upon retirement. That is a mandatory contract that is now being fulfilled by the SSA. It is an entitlement by implied contract. Note, my legal language may not be correct. The SSA does not meet, nor do I expect them to, all my needs.

On the other hand, overly taxing the working population to provide unearned benefits to those not willing to work is not an equal analogy.

I can understand politicians promising those benefits to gain power and votes. I am not able to comprehend how those in the workforce desire to relinquish their disposable income to freeloading welfare clods.
