Did Republicans deliberately crash the US economy?

any trivial (and objective) analysis of party unity and campaign tactics shows a clear advantage to the Republicans.

Everyone - That really was my point; I was giving credit where credit is due to the national Republican machine for being more skilled and successful political operatives - both in election campaigns and in keeping the opposition (either in Congress or the White House) flummoxed. On the whole, they've got a better A game, most of the time, than the Dems do. I'm saying this from the perspective of a team fan that would like to fire my team's front office and coaching staff because the other guys keep eating their lunch.

Though I'm sure Kelp's analysis certainly is trivial :P and clear to you guys. I'm sure an objective look would show both teams are very practiced.

What's really sad is the level of discourse the two teams use. It's a real indicator that either the average customer is really juvenile, or they THINK the average customer is really juvenile.

Seems a bit off to me given the fact of which party has controled congress the most in the last 50 years

It's really been a new game since the Reagan era. First, the GOP started its incremental success in beginning to regain power in Congress during the Reagan administration, and they've done quite well at it over the past 30 years. Second, not only are Repubs better and more successful at legislative and parliamentary politics than the Dems are when they're in the majority, they're better and more successful at it when they're in the minority. To use a hockey metaphor, not only are the Repubs better at the power play, they're better at the penalty kill.

Some of whay you say, well yes, I would agree

But only because they have had the most practice givne the medial love afair keeping the dems asses in power

And the one time (in my life time) they had the power, they fucked away the chance to make a differnce

Stil, for the most part, I disagree with you

put more simplistically, Pelosi is as close as the Democrats get to a powerful leader, dating back to when she was acting as the Whip. And we're talking about the head of what should be the most powerful state delegation based on numbers, but is routinely outmatched by the Texan delegation.

As Andy writes, compare how successful Pelosi's House was in 2007 trying to force Bush to do anything, vs the GOP success against Clinton and Obama in their first two years where they had majorities and close to or at 60 Senators in the Senate? Then look at how well Reagan and Bush did in getting the Democrat to play along with their platforms...

The last Democratic Congressional leader worth a shit was House Speaker Tip O'Neill in the early 80's. Before him, the last one was Senate Majority Leader Lyndon Johnson in the 1950's, for god's sake. In terms of skill and effectiveness, Pelosi is like a Little League Coach compared to someone like Newt Gingrich - an evil fucking asshole if ever there was once; but damn, he was good at what he did when in his prime.

No.

Yes they did. The facts are irrefutable, if you give a shit about factual information.

Based on your response of "No" to the question, there are two options. One is that you are factually challenged and will not cure that condition. The other is that the corporate media is so overwhelming you with misinformation that you simply can't sort out the truth from the half truths, outright lies, and tiny amount of fact that is presented to you.

Either way, you are 100% wrong. How do you explain the rescumlicans holding up the highway bill? The bills that have, until 2009, passed without issue, with both democrat and republicans voting "yes". If the highway bill doesn't pass, about 1.8 million people will be thrown out of work, onto the unemployment line.

If you think that isn't one facet of the deliberate intent to crash the economy, what do you call it?

The Republicans no more Crashed the economy alone, than the Democrats.

So the answer to Kallend's question is the same. Now, if he asks if the Republicans were equally to blame with the Democrats, then the answer is, Yes.

You only mention the House (currently controlled by the Republicans) but not the Senate (still currently controlled by the Democrats).

Both parties are failures, to have faith on one of the other as the "fix" for the problem THEY caused TOGETHER, is naive or down right dishonest.

You hate Conservatives, and conversely the Republicans, I get it. But that hatred makes debate with you impossible, since the opposition to you is "always wrong", even, if not.

You should hate both parties equally, like I do, makes it easier to debate the truth, since the party line is not one you will have to follow.

Frances Fox Piven, co-architect of a strategy to overload the U.S. welfare system to precipitate a transformative economic crisis, was an early builder of the socialist-leaning New Party.

Scores of other New Party activists, meanwhile, have been tied to President Obama.

The now-defunct controversial third party is coming under increased scrutiny after new information further indicates Obama was a New Party member.

The New Party sought to elect members to public office with the aim of moving the Democratic Party far leftward to ultimately form a new political party with a socialist agenda.

In 2008, Obama’s campaign denied the president was ever a member amid reports, including from WND, citing the New Party’s own literature listing Obama as a member

Own your own business or get voted into office. You are free to try both if you are capable enough.

I might

As soon as Obama and the Dems have less power

When that happens all small businesses will have a better success rate
