What amazes me is, these 'occupiers' are allowed to continue.

They should be allowed to their free speech. But when they cross the line into trespassing, vandalism, riots, etc., then they should be held accountable.

I don't want any prior restraints on them. The world should be allowed to see what they are really about.

>Exactly. It has long been called "criminal."

More like just pissing people off. Cops (and landowners) have been kicking vagrants out of vacant buildings for centuries; this isn't much different. Often it's not even worth the effort to prosecute them for trespassing.

I believe, we've seen just about enough.

When we have this many trespasers, they should be prosecuted. Put them on clean-up crews, picking-up trash in town as well as streets and highways. Let them go 'home' at night and if, they don't show-up for work in the morning, throw them in jail. These people are bored and need a j-o-b!

probably shouldn't make jackboot references then. But it's interesting to note that where you are, deep friend roaches are readily available for sale.

It was only a couple months ago that Oakland occupied an "abandoned" home that was in fact in escrow to sell to a couple. When informed of this, their response was that the city should find them (the couple) another home. And this was back when they still had people interested in the 'cause.'

Now all they have are the anti establishment types who have been doing 'fuck the police' marches for decades. The primary purpose of every event is to engage in conflict, not to promote anything productive.

San Francisco, otoh, got more interesting last night. The few out there last night have shifted to performance art, escorting people who happen to be walking down Market, serenading them. I had a cutie (much more than typical) crooning to me some sort of nonsense, I was just happily checking her out.

The actual occupy movment was started in face of land use mis-managment and then blocking employment - Its a rotation tack that was sold with wall street backing - the GAs are built from the 99%ers - out sourcing money from the Government that was founded from the Newer Homeless senses - the doors get closed on the banks when the rotations loose the land title - the investers move to a different company name and turn their back on the responsability - that forces small busness and low income to deal with big issues localy- You do the right thing and work together to build -so we can work around the conflict - or you see how fast police hood stateism falls to my Black Water Special Forces 9mm and thousands of federaly licensed home protectors - you should learn about law and not just tag protesters as wrong- 35% of our homeless are veterans - I am one of them - if you think I am homeless because I am a looser and a cop should hit me with his pr-24 / you can pick a different web site to be a @#!*% kicker on - Blue skies right:)?? The GAs have to deal with block tachtics and other back stabing lobbyist that have enough money to use cops against correct change direction- If their built-- I am a Demicrate -GIA

I compare them to cockroaches. They'll show-up anywhere and you can't get rid of them. There should be a bounty on them.

Chuck

those jackboots are a good fit. you can strut in them with pride...

You're way off the mark there bub! Since when, can't I protect my home and property against a bunch of low-life leeching scum? In this country, I have the right to keep and bear arms and the right to protect what's mine. If, you don't like that, it's too damned bad. Anyone who supports these 'occupiers' is on the same level and they aren't 'entitled' to a damned thing.

Chuck

Where, in any of my posts, did I call you, personally, a 'cockroach'? You and your twisting words to start a bunch of shit is getting real old. I find what you post, inflamatory and inciteful. So, slow-down there dood!

Chuck

you called occupy supporters 'cockroaches'...

(several times)

Agreed.

Quote

they have every right to...occupy

Disagreed. Only by thinking that their rights are superior to others does that right exist. The right to protest exists and causes no duty for others. Those asshole punks (you didn't occupy Oakland because you're in a tax haven like Thailand, so this isn't a personal attack on you) that break into places and take control are stepping on the rights of others.

You only justify it because you think that your cause and your peeps are worthier than others. Which is a disgusting thought. It's a difficult thing to break to people that none of us are more or less worthy. Nobody. Not even your "I used to be considered a thief but now I am calling myself a protester" friends.

The occupiers think the world 'owes' them. I hate to break the news but the world don't owe them shit. The lazy dead-butts need to find something more worthwhile like picking-up trash or some other public work instead of urinating and taking a crap in front of businesses and stealing houses and other structures. All they are is a bunch of thieves and squatters and need their collective ass kicked. If they accomplish anything it will be that of giving the rest of the world a bad image of people in the U.S.A. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who even supports them is just as guilty.

Don't you think the world has seen enough of them? How much longer should we let them continue?

Maybe or maybe not, but that's mostly irrelevant to the First Amendment. The First Amendment is rather toothless if it only protects speech that society finds popular, or is conveyed in a manner that people find comfortable.

Forever. Within the law, and where their rights sometimes conflict with the rights of others (such as blocking public sidewalks or camping out in certain areas), those rights must be carefully balanced against each other. Not an easy task, but that's how it's done. And if they break the law, they should be prosecuted.

I can certainly understand what you are saying but thes people are in fact, breaking the laws by trespassing, camping where they shouldn't, public defication and urinating and so-on. I do believe that our Constitutional Rights are being stretched to the breaking point... toothless or not, enough is enough. With our rights must come responsibility on our part and not just an open door for folks to do anything they want in spite of everyone else, while screaming that they have their rights to do so.

Well, 'cockroach' isn't so bad, I can think of many more applicable labels for "occupiers"....assholes, idiots, jerks, scumbags...and my all-time favorite...bozos.
How's that?

What they all need is spankings. Turn 'em over a knee and spank 'em...in public...televised...with names attached...with the underwear down around the ankles. The punishment would then fit the emotional development of the spankees.
My reality and yours are quite different.
I think we're all Bozos on this bus.

They may be useful until after the election
then they will be ignored and will go away on their own
