I want to apologize for the flippant response to your post. I was still in the process of waking up and didn't immediately realize how profoundly your position had changed ...obviously as a result of this discussion. But you seem to have finally recognized the fact that the events of 1948 (over 6 decades ago) and 1967 (44 years ago) are just the way it is and that it is time for the Arab world, the greater Muslim world, and the "rest of the world" in general to accept this reality and to work out a solution that embraces the prospect for future peace and prosperity in the region.

Rae Abileah, a Jewish-American activist of Israeli descent with the peace group CodePink, disrupted Netanyahu’s speech. Standing in the Congressional gallery, she yelled, “No more occupation, stop Israel war crimes, equal rights for Palestinians, occupation is indefensible.” As she screamed, members in the audience tackled her to the ground, and undercover security forces later dragged her outside. She was taken to George Washington University Hospital where she was treated for neck and shoulder injuries. At the hospital, police arrested Abileah and charged her with disorderly conduct for disrupting Congress.

NYET CRAMROD.....

In the first confrontation they were far outnumbered.. as has been the case the whole time...

And they were FAR OUT GUNNED. The A Rabs that attacked them had modern armies and air forces arrayed against very poorly armed or trained militias thruout the very new country of Israel.

i don't think so - they had lots of weapons from their allies and a nuclear strike capability to top it off.

And you feel that if the P's were given a state according the the 1967 borders... that threat would be dissolved?

Because... if Hamas/Hezbollah had one currently, they would have already use it.

And Iran has been set back at least 5 years, and they are paranoid as crap, due to the Israeli/US virus.

Although no official statistics exist, it has been estimated that Israel possesses 75-400 nuclear weapons, including thermonuclear weapons in the megaton range. Delivery mechanisms include Jericho intercontinental ballistic missiles, with a range of 11,500 km. Additionally, Israel is believed to have an offshore nuclear second-strike capability, using submarine launched nuclear-capable cruise missiles. The Israeli government maintains a policy of deliberate ambiguity on whether it has nuclear weapons, saying only that it would not be the first to "introduce nuclear weapons in the Middle East."Former International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Mohamed ElBaradei regarded Israel as a state possessing nuclear weapons. Much of what is known about Israel's nuclear program comes from revelations in 1986 by Mordechai Vanunu, a technician at the Negev Nuclear Research Center in Dimona, who served an 18-year jail sentence as a result. Israel has not signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

not paranoia then - there was a virus (i remember starting a thread about it at the time). attacking a state's nuclear facilities like that could be classified as an act of war...

Israel has signed but not ratified the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC). There are speculations that a chemical weapons program might be located at the Israel Institute for Biological Research (IIBR) in Ness Ziona.

190 liters of dimethyl methylphosphonate, a CWC schedule 2 chemical used in the synthesis of Sarin nerve gas, was discovered in the cargo of El Al Flight 1862 after it crashed in 1992 en route to Tel Aviv. Israel insisted the material was non-toxic, was to have been used to test filters that protect against chemical weapons, and that it had been clearly listed on the cargo manifest in accordance with international regulations. The shipment was from a U.S. chemical plant to the IIBR under a U.S. Department of Commerce license.

In 1993, the U.S. Congress Office of Technology Assessment WMD proliferation assessment recorded Israel as a country generally reported as having undeclared offensive chemical warfare capabilities. Former US deputy assistant secretary of defense responsible for chemical and biological defense, Bill Richardson, said in 1998 "I have no doubt that Israel has worked on both chemical and biological offensive things for a long time ... There's no doubt they've had stuff for years."
