For all of you who think this guy is so intelligent, take a look at this. It's painful. Of significance is that it's a military term, and there are Navy corpsmen stationed at the White House. Seriously, can't they upgrade the teleprompter to include a pronunciation guide?

I heard a recording of it, not once, but three times...:S

**shaking head**

He is truly made for TV. Puts on a great show, but needs laser-point-precision-guidance to put on the 5-star show.

So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

Shocking. It's enough to make me go nukeyular. We've clearly misunderestimated this man.

Next thing you'll know, he'll be bowing to a mere mayor who has an Italian name but is really a closet Asian. Or is that Alien? I forget.

I had a professor in college once; very bright guy with a PhD. Once, in class, he mispronounced Thailand "thigh-land". Yeah, we made fun of him, too.

Anyhow, maybe he was thinking of this guy:

For all of you who think this guy is so intelligent, take a look at this. It's painful. Of significance is that it's a military term, and there are Navy corpsmen stationed at the White House. Seriously, can't they upgrade the teleprompter to include a pronunciation guide?

Believe it or not, Rush Limbaugh defended him on this flub in his Thursday broadcast. He said that BHO, like his classmates at Hahvad, are taught to speak that way.

The days when most people who attended Harvard had either aristocratic or New England accents is many decades long-gone. In any event, I'm pretty sure that Obama had his personal diction more or less locked-in by the time he started law school.

There's a class at Harvard that teaches people how to pronounce military job titles?

I thought he sounded kind of buzzed in that video.

In fairness to any President - long hours, high stress, lots of speeches delivered, often without much advance review of the text, especially for the less momentous events. Yeah, they're going to sound tired sometimes, not unlike candidates in the middle of a campaign.

Right. Bush does it and he's an idiot, moron, etc. Obama does it and he's tired, stressed, has no time for preparation, etc.

Review of my posts here would demonstrate that I have a huge problem with anybody insulting the character or traits of a person by names. Calling Bush a moron or Palin an idiot (especially when referring to dialect) is, to me, a juvenile act.

Bush mispronounced things. Yep. He's an idiot for pronouncing "nuke-you-lar" the same way genius Jimmy Carter did. Our president can commit the same verbal flubs and NOT face the same criticism?

I think those who criticized Bush but fail to criticize Obama lack intellectual honesty. And those who would defend Bush and criticize Obama have the same problem.

Obama is human. He makes mistakes, too. So do all of us.

My wife is hotter than your wife.

Agreed. Thus why I said "any President."

All presidents do it some. Bush-2 did it more than average. He was fine when delivering a prepared speech. But he was very awkward speaking extemporaneously in public, to the point where listening to him was painful and embarrassing at times; and frankly, to some, those instances probably made him sound less intelligent than he actually is. (Neither his father nor his brother Jeb do that; they're both quite articulate and sharp-sounding extemporaneously.)

I recall that Gerald Ford was also poked fun at for being an awkward public speaker. The "can't walk and chew gum" expression entered our pop culture once Ford became either VP or President, when it came to light that LBJ had used that expression to describe him. It also belied the fact that, for example, he graduated in the top 25% of his Yale Law School class.

True dat. I'll cut him a break for not knowing how to pronounce a few words. I think this goes to more of
1) Teleprompterism
2) Lack (TOTAL LACK) of military knowledge by the CIC

Hell, the guys in the Marine Corpse fly his chopter!

'W' certainly was an idiot when it came to extemperaneous speaking, but why do you include: "I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf. I feel I owe it to the families to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., May 13, 2008

It seems to be a noble thing to do even given he sucked at golf.
For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.

Well that is quite true... his business acumen SHOULD have given all of you who voted for him a CLUE of what kind of a president he would make.

BUT.. yall voted for him anyway:S:S:S and our economy is like most of the other things he ran into the ground>:(>:(

You've missed the subtlety of what I was saying. For all of his faults I never once thought W was putting on heirs. Barack is an eloquent speaker who looks more like a teleprompter puppet. People like that make me want to keep an eye on my personal possessions.

Face it Obama is a puppet to the Bilderberg Group.

It doesn't matter if the DEMs or the GOP control the White House. The real people calling the shots in this world are the Rothschilds and Rockefellers etc, etc, etc.

Unless some folks here are Bilderbergs themselves (not likely) we are all being setup to be their slaves.

Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
