Ever tried any John Martyn...Solid Air, or One World, or Bless the Weather..? Always sounds good on an accoustic...

Eagle Eye Cherry
Save Tonight
Go on and close the curtains
All we need is candlelight
You and me and a bottle of wine
Going to hold you tonight
We know I'm going away
How I wish....wish it weren't so
Take this wine & drink with me
Let's delay our misery
Save tonight
And fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow
Tomorrow I'll be gone
There's a log on the fire
And it burns like me for you
Tomorrow comes with one desire
To take me away....it's true
It ain't easy to say goodbye
Darling please don't start cry
'Cause girl you know I've got to go
Lord I wish it wasn't so
Save tonight
And fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow
Tomorrow I'll be gone
Tomorrow comes to take me away
I wish that I......that I could stay
Girl you know I've got to go
Lord I wish it wasn't so
Save tonight
And fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow
Tomorrow I'll be gone....

"I will have to get my fingers moving so I can play at eloy with /for you! "

Mebbe 'The Non Americans' by David Bowie, you know, a special dedication for the 'breakfast club' ?? ;)

Look up stuff by Cross Canadian Ragweed, Pat Green and Robert Earl King Jr. I put a couple Robert Earl songs in my previous list, two of his more famous songs, though. Yes, they're all Texas Country style bands, but their music IS appealing to just about everyong (you'd have to hear it to understand). Especially when played acoustically in a non "country music setting."

"you picked a fine time to fail me reserve"
(at 400 feet and I'm losing my nerve)
sung to the tune of "You Picked a Fine Time to Leave Me Lucille"
I'll try to find the lyrics; I think I still have them lying around.
Wendy W.
There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

Does he really want to be playing the same song for 20 minutes?

the better question would be "Can he get all 20 minutes of the lyric to alice's Restaurant?" I think I'll go looking for an MP3 now...

another Dave

Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friend (Lennon/McCartney)

As long as you sing Hotel California for me I'll be happy. Or any of the older songs we grew up knowing. I'm sorta outta the loop with the newer stuff. Not that you can't play it I just won't be singing along.
