moodyskydiver 0 #1 March 1, 2007 I just left the college admissions office, which I havent been enrolled in for 2 yrs.I've just applied for enrollment for Fall 2007. I quit school when my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and took a long sebatical to try to put my life back together after she passed away last June. But I think I might finally be ready to go back and finish what I started.Luckily, even with all the classes I quit and never withdrew from (resulting in an F) havent damaged my GPA to the point where it cant be fixed.Luckily I had a high 3.6 when everything when to shit,so the failures brought me down to a 2.5.BUT a 2.5 is still high enough to re-register and be accepted and I wont even be on probation. So I'm hoping to get my enrollment/registration papers in a week-10days.Now I'm in the process of getting all my financial aid stuff together.*fingers crossed that I can get some serious financial aid* *sigh* Am I really doing this? Am I really ready to go back? After talking to my hubby,he said he'd rather see me back in school than struggling to find a job.So atleast hes supportive. "...just an earthbound misfit, I." MF42 0 #3 March 1, 2007 I can relate. Looking at the possibility of getting back into school yet again, this time after a six-year break. Glad your guy is supportive, though. Matt

jceman 1 #6 March 1, 2007 Go for it Amber -- I know it meant a lot to you before and I'm sure you'll find that it means even more to you now. You can do it! You! You! You can do it! Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

FreeflyChile 0 #8 March 1, 2007 it sounds like you had quite a bit on your mind when you took your hiatus from school. im guessing that once you start up again, now that things seem more stable, you'll be pleasantly surprised that class is not as difficult as you remember it! kbordson 8 #9 March 1, 2007 Yeah, Amber!!!!!!!! New challenges (and old challenges made new again) are scary, but just resolve that you CAN do this and make it happen. It's your future. Do as much as possible with it!
moodyskydiver 0 #10 March 1, 2007 QuoteI know it meant a lot to you before and I'm sure you'll find that it means even more to you now. Yes it did and probably will mean even more now b/c that was my grandmother's dying wish. She never wanted me to quit when she got sick,so to ease her mind I kinda 'white lied' about it and told her I was still going even after I quit b/c I knew it would hurt her and depress her.All she ever wanted was for me to go to college. So if I cant finish for me,maybe I can finish for her. Michele 1 #11 March 1, 2007 I did it...at close to twice your age, and a much longer break (something like 21 years...). If I can do it, darling girl, you can, too. When the days get really long, and the material is hard, and all you really want to do is throw up your hands and just be done!!! with it all - remember that you can do anything you set your mind to, and no matter how torturous it is, if you know it will end, you can withstand anything...and get the grades, to boot. Rock on, girl...rock on. Hugs! Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
