Which sitcom theme song from the 70's did you like best?

Gilligan's Island:

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip
That started from this tropic port, aboard this tiny Ship.
The mate was a mighty sailin' man, the Skipper brave and sure,
Five passengers set sail that day for a three hour tour.
A three hour tour.
The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed.
If not for the courage of the fearless crew, the Minnow would be lost.
The Minnow would be lost.
The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle
With Gilligan, the Skipper too, a Millionaire and his wife,
A movie star, the Professor and Mary Ann, here on Gilligan's Isle.

The Jeffersons:

Well we’re movin on up, to the east side.
To a deluxe apartment in the sky.
Movin on up to the east side.
We finally got a piece of the pie.

Fish don’t fry in the kitchen;
Beans don’t burn on the grill.
Took a whole lotta tryin’ just to get up that hill.
Now we’re up in the big leagues
Gettin’ our turn at bat.
As long as we live, it’s you and me baby
There ain’t nothin wrong with that.

Well we’re movin on up, to the East Side.
To a deluxe apartment in the sky.
Movin on up to the east side.
We finally got a piece of the pie.

And I can't hear that song now without thinking of you. Curses!
She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man,
because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

Uh, Billy, if you want us to pick a '70's theme, then how about giving us two '70's shows to choose from, instead of one from the '60's?:P:P:P

The first thing I though of was M.A.S.H.

'Suicide is Painless'

Through early morning fog I see
visions of the things to be
the pains that are withheld for me
I realize and I can see...

[REFRAIN]:

that suicide is painless
It brings on many changes
and I can take or leave it if I please.

I try to find a way to make
all our little joys relate
without that ever-present hate
but now I know that it's too late, and...

[REFRAIN]

The game of life is hard to play
I'm gonna lose it anyway
The losing card I'll someday lay
so this is all I have to say.

[REFRAIN]

The only way to win is cheat
And lay it down before I'm beat
and to another give my seat
for that's the only painless feat.

[REFRAIN]

The sword of time will pierce our skins
It doesn't hurt when it begins
But as it works its way on in
The pain grows stronger...watch it grin, but...

[REFRAIN]

A brave man once requested me
to answer questions that are key
is it to be or not to be
and I replied 'oh why ask me?'

[REFRAIN]

'Cause suicide is painless
it brings on many changes
and I can take or leave it if I please.
...and you can do the same thing if you please.
My reality and yours are quite different.
I think we're all Bozos on this bus.

I have. But this damn large piece of nylon keeps appearing behind me and screwing things up. I've come close to succeeding a couple of times but as of now, I'm a complete failure.

I have to agree with the theme from M.A.S.H.. I also liked the theme from the Mary Tyler Moore show. Another favorite is the theme to Dynasty, but that is from the 80's.

The Mary Tyler Moore show? MASH? Dynasty? What kind of sicko are you?:P

No way man.....Miami Vice has the vote for the 80's and for the more easy listening would be Hillstreet Blues.

others mean and rueful of the western dream"
