I only thorw a few pieces in the earlier arrivals bags because I have to make it last. by the end of the night I am dumping handfuls in. Considering there's no snow on the ground (like there was LAST year) I'm at about HALF of what we had last year (for the entire night). I normally shut it down at about 730 or so ... maybe 8 if I see there's a lot out on the street. Guess that means more candy for me!!! We had a fake hand in our candy dish and some of the smaller children didn't want to take a chance and reach for the candy lest the hand grab them hahahahahaha My wife helped them out though and put candy in their bags.
