Doing CNN at 4pm

Again? They might as well give you your own show!

I heard one radio announcer call it "creepy" this morning. I don't agree. It brought back memories of standing before my own father, knowing I screwed up and knowing that I disappointed him and it was far worse than any kind of physical punishment he could have given me.

Bottom line- everyone is talking about it this morning, so I guess it has served its purpose!

TOTALLY what I said - I've never felt worse about shit I did then when I had to hear it from my dad.

Something I read this morning on the Tiger Woods issue that was excellent:
Quote

...
And in the premiere episode of the current season, “South Park” took on Tiger Woods.

Regardless of how you felt about that episode's quality, Parker and Stone acted once more as call-out specialists. This time, their target was everyone who acts incredulous and surprised in the wake of rich, successful, famous men who are caught cheating. Woods famously spent weeks in a rehab center for sex addiction, but we all know that was nonsense, an olive branch to the media and his family who sought some kind of retribution for his behavior. Leave it to the guys who make fart jokes to be the only ones to call Woods out on his BS and the media who willingly went along with it.

The value in calling everyone out is that it's all-inclusive. The targets aren't selected for any reason other than they've drawn Parker and Stone's ire. And, in the case of Tiger Woods, it's not even the specific person who has provided “South Park” with material — it was culture's reaction to that person.

CNN might as well be TMZ ...

That's not fair to TMZ, they are far more responsible when it comes to accurate reporting.

I hadn't seen the ad before.

I'm seeing what Tiger is doing as "just enough" to get everyone off his back. A lot like the Mark McGuire "apology" a couple months ago.

Whether or not he's really sorry, or just sorry he got caught is the real question.

Just another reason I won't buy Nike, I guess.

If you've nothing better to do, tune into CNN at 4pm. I'll be talking about Tiger Woods and the new Nike ad he did.

Anyone see the ad? Thoughts on it?

The ad is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIYejgkqd0o

I thought it was interesting that everyone seems to have a clip of it on their website. Every radio show I am listening to is saying "check it out on our website". They don't even need to buy commercial time to air it - everyone is doing it for them.

Keep in mind, Woods didn't invent this add, Nike did in an effort to maintain market share and to keep sales flowing,,,Woods was and will continue to be an endorsment machine

I'd venture to guess that Woods is not happy with this add, but Nike, by right of contract, decided it was a good idea.

I'd venture to guess that's hogwash.

I'm sure Woods has final say on the use of his image by any sponsor. Nike doesn't own Woods, or his image. You can be sure of that.

I'd even venture that Woods is using this as an opportunity to further his public apologies, in a venue that doesnt allow any follow-up questions by the press.

His little brain may not be too smart, but his big brain is (when he uses it:D).

I think Earl is spinning in his grave over all of this!
If he was still around he would kick Tiger's punk ass all the way up and down each fairway at the Masters!

The Skydive San Diego guys have some interesting thoughts about Tiger. He did AFF there a few years ago.

Tiger is probably buying Jesse James some drinks. Talk about taking the heat off of a guy!!!:PB|
