You just can't beat a tail-gate© Thats why my vote goes to a CASA© A twin otter comes close, but I mean come on© I don't think its fair to include a hot air balloon or a helicopter because they are completely different from all of the other aircraft©

Yeah... Gotta agree that a tailgate is FUN:)Yet, my vote goes to the Porter! Why? It's single engined (more engines equals more to go wrong). It does the short rough strip thing well (a must for small DZs). It still goes up fast & it's got a big door that closes.
So, while my favourite jump plane has to be the C-130, the award for the "best" jump plane has to go to the Porter!

C-130 for fixed wing.

MI-8 for helo. Probably say Chinook if I had ever jumped out of one of those.

C-130s are cute. I'll take an AN-72 anyday tho! ;)
can I have a bottle of Vichy with that, Please :)

DC-3's are loaded with charm and character, and have a beauty from a bygone age, but the slow climb rate and little door make it, for me, far from my favorite jumpship.

No kidding. The only really fond memory I have is sitting in Capt Koolaid and learning from the guy next to me, where the name originated.
