turtlespeed 212 #7 October 30, 2013 normiss"It's NOT a femur" His personal story and update SO glad they were able to save the foot. And I am glad this is posted here. I wouldn't have seen it. I used to swoop a little. I know how dangerous fun for us is. BASE jumpers are in a whole different danger zone I get it. I would do it if I was more current, and had a mentor. but meh. Maybe one day.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

You're acting like I was calling him names or something. This sure brought back some memories for me. I think it was 2006 when I broke my left heal in five places. It was Moab, and I believe it was Mineral Bottoms too. It was my 18th base jump. Did all but never a building. Out of five of us: three went home on crutches. Within a year plus/ minus my mentor died slipping off a steam shovel. Before he died, another had died at Twin Falls when his wrapped pilot chute would not inflate. I finally sold my gear this past Labor Day weekend to an Australian kid. I miss it, but I don't mend like I used to. Now, it's just an occasional skydive and climbing. I'm glad "Pirate" is doing well, and wish him a full recovery.Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.
