I think it will take a little longer than 5 years to run out of oil. Even if you took into account that amount of time required to build a refinery it still would be greater than 5 years. But I do agree that it does not make sense to build new ones. The point I was making is that the refineries in the U.S. are running at about 40% ( I rounded up a little) of their capacity. I think that the pricing will go the same way the tech stocks did. They have started to compare the two in the media. Time will tell, but I think it will go the same way. Ok... I'll play along..... Ever wonder why you didn't hear about this kind of thing in the past? I'm sure this isn't the first bad storm to come through that part of the country.... I think you might want to read between the lines in the CNN report.... It didn't say that the oil rigs were destroyed now did it.... Think of it this way. How long do you think it takes a barrel of oil that comes out of the rig today to get to the refinery??? When you have that number you will understand (at least I think you will) why I said what I said.... Ever look at the amount of oil that is imported into the U.S. from foreign countries? When you get that percentage... It kind of makes you wonder why (if its not all about the money) we base our prices on what OPEC is doing this week.... Don't get me wrong.... What does that have to do with why fuel is so high today? I KNOW a guy who is as smart as you are knows the real reason that fuel prices are so high. Just in case you hadn't had time to look at it I'll give you a hint... Look at the number of U.S. refineries that are up and running right now. As for the price increase because of the storm.... They (oil companies) don't have to put any pressure on anyone. Remember who owns most of the pumps you are pumping from at the filling station. There really aren't that many "mom and pop" stations left. All they have to do is just keep doing what they have been.... Ignore the hell out of it. Willie Nelson (spelling?) markets his own brand but its mostly in truck stops and there aren't very many of them when you compare it to the number of corporate owned (or at least private owned, chain) stations. You are correct. Its not quite as easy as it sounds on some of the web sites. We have been running one of our plants on bio-diesel for over 2 years. It costs about $0.45 per gallon to make. This sounds low but when you add in all the taxes we pay on fuel (at the pump) its really not as cheap as it would seem. If you did it on a smaller scale I would recommend going to the local chinese restaurant and speaking to them about getting their used grease (it seems to be a little cleaner than most). That hasn't been accurate for quite some time. The "cleaner" used vegetable oil is sold to other businesses. The dirtier Vegetable oil is taken away and used for fuel in places like cement kilns. Pendejo He who swoops the ditch and does not get out buys the BEER!!

The only conversation I would have with one of my guys is.... Pack your shit... You are done. They all know that being above the tandem is stupid. I think the first three represent what we do for "OK" video at BSA a little better than the other pics. The last one is a shot that a buddy of mine Robin Kellam took that is a good illustration of what handycam can't do on an exit shot (although the last one is anything but just "ok" its awesome IMHO). Ok... So that was only part of my post. What about the difference in the quality of the video. Care to post one of yours for us to see? I'm curious how you overcame the lack of image stabilization with the bullet cam. All the videos I have seen without that feature look quite different than with it. Also, How do you keep them in frame while you are doing your handles check? Or are you good enough that you don't need to do one? Also, it seems like I remember someone telling me it was not a good idea to wear my swoop cords under my gloves or altimeter. Has this train of thought changed (this is an assumption that you would not want the cable flopping around in the breeze)? Even though the first five words of this quote illustrate my point about extra crap, I'll run with it anyway.... So what are you doing with the extra 4 minutes of video? Are you editing it out? If so, are you doing your own editing, or are you asking someone else to do that for you (especially on a busy day)? Or are you hooking up on the way to the door? Some of the questions I'm asking might seem silly, but remember that I have not jumped with you and don't know what the process is at your DZ. I think this will be the part where they compare newsmax to fox news. Its AMAZING to me that the same people who are saying that we should pull our troops out now will also be saying they can't believe we would leave those poor people two or three months from when we do pull them out.... There was an entire thread about this... I think it was beat to death.... Funny thing is, all those that shoot handycam say they give as good a product as I do with a camera on my head. Interesting thing is, I have yet to see one that is worth a shit (although I do commend the guy that was brave enough to post his in the other thread). Bottom line... Someday, it may replace the outside guys.... But today is not that day. Not if we compare quality.
