  1. Interesting... my info came directly off of the bushmaster website in my wanderings I remember coming across it. I have looked again, and cant find it. Who knows what I was smoking at the time... its also possible that I got that info when I was looking at other similar mfr websites that might have that restriction. *shrug* I stand corrected Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
  2. I've had it before... pretty dark blue, tastes kinda like oranges... great in margaritas.... I dont recommend it straight. Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
  3. Just remember, before people spend too much time pointing all the blame at Trolls, remember without hothead regular users, they wouldnt exist. Wanna end the troll problem? Learn when to just say "NO" to responding to them. Unlike that scorching case of herpes, they WILL go away eventually... even though the troll can be more irritating... 4. I wonder if this guy is still alive... "Plane in the Mud is "Hang The Expense III" flown by Big Frank Valesh, 351st Sqdn EP-Z 239867. On January 24, 1944 this plane landed with tail severely damaged by Flak. Roy Urick TG, was blown out of the aircraft but survived" Hmm... that last part technically happens to me repeatedly every other weekend... coincidence? 6. I see no problem with this thread... this is an appropriate place for this thread.... so long as it doesnt devolve into a discussion on the merits of guns, theories on thier place in society, etc. the HH rules mentioned above are intended to keep debate type threads on guns in that other forum, and to prevent the bonfire from getting political and "non fun" for the general population... I think this video DEFINITELY falls under the fun category. just my .02 Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
  7. From my experience (at least with bushmasters) you can only interchange if your barrel (sp? I just chugged 3 beers and there is a spelling for each bottle that makes sense) is stamped with "5.56 NATO", otherwise your weapon should ONLY be fired with .223 rounds. something about gas pressures of the 5.56 being MUCH higher to the point of causing the barrel to bulge and/or explode if it isnt stamped as such. 8. I have a Bushmaster XM15-E2. some have mistaken it for an M4 with its collapsible stock and AK muzzle brake. I LOVE it. at the time, I wished I could have afforded the "nato" version as I too prefer the 7.62 caliber. However, now that I have shot it, I like it. Since I bought mine to silence that paranoid little voice in my head (he only whispers, so I can ignore him ;) ) I do like the thought that in an extreme emergency I can carry quite a few more rounds than I could with my SKS. My only caviat... try not to order parts from bushmaster.com. SLOW ass service. I orderd misc tools and parts ( sight tools, ambi charging handle mod, etc) and they literally took a week to ship them. I called 5 days after I hit submit to ask where it was, and was told " oh, that order should ship within the next 2 days.... " and that was after sitting on hold for 15-20 mins. Now this WAS right after the ban was lifted, so that COULD have had an effect... but still... 6 days to ship? c'mon. Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
  9. I also get the strange feeling that this guy representing himself is probably not helping matters. I doubt he is a lawyer... Can anyone else think of a profession that you NEED to have one of your own to protect yourself from the other guy's? I am at a loss. The only times I can think of (like having your own auto mechanic) is when the other side is trying to defraud you. If it werent for lawyers, we wouldnt need lawyers! You know what you call a bus full of lawyers going over a cliff with one empty seat? a waste of space! You know what you call 10,000 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean? A good start! 10. I'd appeal. Its a "gift" and now its hers (according to her). it was given to her in a way that she cant possibly get preggo... SOOO..... Doesnt that mean that by the time she... um... USED the sperm for its original purpose, it was no longer his? that means she should pay her own child support! Thats kinda like me abandoning a dead car on your property with the assumption that you are going to dispose of it. Then after you have the engine rebuilt you go out and run over a kid... then sue ME because it WAS (not IS) my car. Its also right up there with having unprotected sex with a woman that claimed to have had a hysterectomy sue you when she gets pregnant... Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!

    Skype??

I tested one of the early betas. the clarity was amazing. I remember wandering around my house with a headset plugged into my pocketPC, connected via my wifi network as I wandered around the house like I was on a cordless phone. Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
  12. Uh... dude, those are starch based packing peanuts.... not candy. Although in a weird way, they are kinda tasty... melt in your mouth... Nothing gets your coworkers looking at you stranger than when you walk up to a box of those things and pop a couple in your mouth, chew for a few seconds, then after they dissolve continue talking to the person like nothing happened... everyone always assumes you just snarfed down some stryrofoam and gives you the weirdest looks. But seriously, those folks are GREAT. I buy all my tapes from them (when I dont need them immediately) Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!

  14. Good Question... I have actually never used final cut. I dont own a mac (not for lack of want). I'm one of those that I mentioned that needs the thousands of programs... :( I am sure its not that hard. If you can pick up on Premier, you can figure out FC. 15. Hell... water is "harmless" but people die of "water poisoning" (drowning) daily ;) I also remember that ingesting (not inhaling) too much water can even be lethal. Its freakish, but has happened. Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
  16. If ALL you want to do is what you listed, go MAC. and this is coming from a PC geek! PCs are great, but they have thier problems. MACs are SO much better in the graphics and video dept. I have two great real world examples: 1: one of my oldest clients is the top graphics shop and photo lab in town. They have 3 non mac systems... two Linux based servers and a windows terminal server... the latter was against thier wishes, but required for some specialized server app. Not one single PC. Why? Why not? 2: Adobe bailed out of the video editing race on the MAC because they didnt want to compete with Final Cut Pro... which I have seen in action... blows Premier out of the water... Now if you wanted thousands of programs, wanted to play alot of cool games, then I would suggest a PC. IF you are happy doing only what you listed, by all means go MAC. 17. Its better to have a weapon, and not need it, than to need one and not have it. Its a shame that we dont hear more stories like this. Alas, the news outlets only care if it goes one step further... no blood, no body, no story. and as for the original story, the quoite about "..i;ve been getting on that plane for 42 years..." Maybe somebody at the TSA finally REALIZED that, and wanted to prevent more damage to the country. Every time I hear that man's name, and think about Chappaquiddick, my heart sinks.... how many times have THEY voted for such a letcherous old drunk, and in comparison all we have to worry about is a lying vietnam flake... I would probably vote for him over Kennedy at the senatorial level. At least he didnt drown a lover (at least not that we know about). Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
  18. what I dont get, is why we arent looking more at the YEARS he spent in politics, not the MONTHS he spent in a war. Ok, what If I spent all 10 of my post school years doing nothing, goofing off, only showing up for roughly 12% of work meetings I was supposed to be attending, then trying to convince a group to hire me as the CEO of a company just because I was my HS student council prez? Thats pretty much what he is wanting us to do. Would you promote a person to the head of your "organization" that worked as a low level employee for a year 30 years ago, then when he left the company on workers compensation, accused it of doing illegal stuff? Then to make matters worse, when he was re-hired many years later to a more senior position, slacked off, missed meetings, and constantly reversed his decisions between the meetings he DID attend? Things like " Yes go ahead and build a new company building/No, you cant have any money from the budget to build the building" I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he did serve valliantly 30 YEARS AGO. but that is just that... 30 years of HISTORY. I think we should look more on his political history, than his war record. As for the "inconsistencies" in Thurlow's bronze star app... The award was based on info Kerry submitted for his own bronze star. Thurlow and others got them automatically because they were a part of the operation (according to Kerry). The commendation would not have the detailed info in it, just something generic like "for heroic actions on date such and such, at place blankety blank". He would have had to have requested the after action report to see all the details that Kerry submitted. He assumed it was for helping to do damage control to the sinking boat, and nothing more valliant than that. And "lies funded by a Texas Republican Millionaire"? Two words: "George Soros" (who is quoted as saying that he would spend his entire fortune if he could GUARANTEE a win) . So now we are playing "my millionare is better than your millionare???" Millions are spent by Moveon.org, Soros, etc. then after a single commercial costing around 250,000 the dems cry foul???? Come on guys... Its time to cut the ancient history crap, and start looking at more realistic near term histories. What has Bush acheived in the last 15 years? How about Kerry? and for the record, not a huge fan of either candidate.... I am a libertarian. I'll probably vote Bush, as I find him the lesser of the evils. They're all a bunch of rich sleazeballs... (its late, so sorry about the rambling) speaking of lawyers... can anyone else think of a profession where you need to hire one to protect yourself from another one? Realtors are the only ones I can think of, but once again, it all comes down to legal stuff... Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
  19. huh? I think I missed that one.... if you are referring to my sig, its meant in the most literal, and physical terms possible. If not, please explain, cuz I am LOST. Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
  20. Well thank you very much can I be in charge for a little while? Hell, I like you. You can come to my house and fuck my sister. Interesting bit of trivia. Take a REALLY good look at that scene, specifically where he punches private Joker. Notice anything odd? Ok, for those that dont have the movie. you see him wind up with one hand, then when they cut to the other angle, he's punching with the other hand. also take note how oddly he is holding the other arm in that second angle. Apparently they needed to re-shoot part of the scene a bit later on in filming, but Ermey had hurt his hand/arm during shooting and couldnt exactly reproduce the punch with that bad hand. and does anyone else stop watching about 35 minutes in, Right after Pyle smears his brains all over the tile? The rest of the movie just isnt that great beyond the basic training scenes. Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
  21. One final update. I finally have the item in my posession. Apparently the guy only bothers to correspond when its "life and death", and doesnt consider general auction discussions worthy of his time. I emailed him regarding the messed up zip. over the weekend, he replied, then called fedex to have them hold it at the office for me. Better than nothing I guess. In the end, since he actually took the time to contact fedex (and I didnt have to wait and be delayed a day) I will be giving positive feedback. Yeah, he isnt the greatest, but at least he does respond when its absolutely necessary, and doesnt leave you hanging out to dry. Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
  22. I'm not complaining about the wrong zip. thats my bad, and I will accept it. Its the fact that if he would respond, he could correct it... but thats not even the issue... its that he wont respond to ANYONE as far as I can tell. Its just rude... thats why I wont buy from Buy.com anymore. you cant call anyone with a question about your order, and when you email them, it takes a minimum of 2 days to get an answer... hell, it took 3 days to cancel a backorder the last time I dealt with them. Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
  23. Ok, so here's the deal. I buy a new item on ebay from a "power seller" his feedback rating is somewhere in the 1500 range. I email him for an amended invoice. wait overnight, and no reply. Upon closer inspection, I see I didnt need the amendment, so I completed the transaction using my paypal account. Another problem. the alternate (work) ship to address that I provided him in the next town over has my home zip code, not the correct one. So I send ANOTHER email... then a third one marked urgent. I get an email from fedex that the order has shipped to the alternate address. I check the fedex tracking info, and sure enough its got the wrong zip. So now its been 3 days, and I havent gotten a single reply from the idiot. Fedex wont change it unless HE calls. I have to wait till they try to deliver it unsuccessfully, then change it to a "hold at the sort facility" and lose a day (I cant change it at all unless I am the shipper). I dug thru the guy's feedback list, and found 6 neutral feedbacks in the past 6 months. ALL are for the same thing... TOTAL lack of communication. He ships the product ok, just ignores any correspondence from you. So what would you do in my shoes? I am inclined to post negative feedback because he does this habitually, Just trying to decide. On one hand, he completed the transaction per the minimum requirements in good time. Nothing wrong with that. However he totally ignores any questions that you ask. And it appears that he never responds to ANY questions... so the only positives he gets are from people who either dont care, or didnt have any questions or need to correspond with him. Am I asking/expecting too much? (edited to add the following) I am not complaining about the zip code screwup.... that was my bad. Its the fact he wont respond to ANY correspondence. This lack of response led to the zip code issue being bigger than it needed to be. I sent TWO emails correcting it before he shipped it, so it theoretically could have been corrected. Hell, if he emailed me back and told me he couldnt do anything, I'd be happy(er). at least he wasnt completely blowing off a customer. Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
  24. Back when I was 17, I enlisted in the army. My parents had to sign a release. When I turned 18, I could have gotten myself a free discharge because as an adult, I never actually signed myself up??? Not quite the same... If I remember right, its ONLY the part about the kid's right to sue you being waived that doesnt fly in court. I guess I probably should have been more clear. Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
  25. To my knowlege (IANAL) it is not truly possible for any parent, guardian, whatever... to sign away a minor's rights. This is true anywhere in the US. BECAUSE...... (drum roll please) If anything happens, down the road as soon as said minor turns 18 he is now responsible for his own butt... and can now sue the DZ because the parent had no binding legal right to waive his rights to sue. (non fatal accidents of course). Basically, once the ability/responsibility is no longer on the guardian, any rights they waived are now null and void, and the now EX minor can turn around and sue you because they never signed away thier rights... For example... 17yo gets parents to sign the waiver. kid does something stupid and ends up in a wheelchair. the following year, he is now responsible for himself, and can sue because he never signed away his rights. His parents signed that right away as a minor, and he is no longer a minor. Its also a catch 22... even if he was asked to sign also to prevent this scenario, his signature is void because he wasnt of age yet to legally enter into a binding contract... That boys and girls is why we tell the kids to wait... (once again, I could be wrong... if there is a lawyer in the house, please correct me) Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!
