what she said.I havent jumped in almost 4yrs due to various life reasons...money,school,health etc. but I keep in touch with my skydiving friends via dz.com.So dont go away completely! just b/c you take a break from the sky doesnt mean your sky buddies arent still here for ya.Besides, it keeps you in touch with the community in a way so that its like you're still going to the dz and hanging out(or to me it does). Either way best of luck with all you have going on.

Cheer up chica! This is going to be a fun trip.Surely there will be vendors there you could rent a rig from for a day or maybe borrow someone's for atleast a jump or two.Like you keep telling me...it will work itself out one way or the other!Besides, you've got me to party with in 2 weeks.

I just got a call from the dean at the college and I've been awarded a $500 Criminal Justice scholarship per semester until I get my degree finished in May.woohoo!That made my day. Now if only I could get free $ to go to LP.... "...just an earthbound misfit, I."

Talk to Mike Forsythe here on dz.com.He jumps with his dog all the time.They set a canine HALO record at WFFC a few yrs ago,I believe. IIRC, they're a SAR team.

grades are in.I made a 95 on this speech.He took off 5 points b/c I didnt have enough visual aids.I had a powerpoint presentation and showed one of my jump videos for crying out loud! I dont have a rig so wtf did he want, a dirt dive in the middle of class?how would that have explained skydiving history?I only had 8mins max for the whole speech.grrr! ...working as a photographer/journalist for the Navarro County Times newspaper!woohoo! They called me saying they're really interested and to send more of my photography work to them.I told them I was on crutches and in a cast-they said they didnt care.I told them up front I was going to LP and they said they didnt care.I told them I'd be in school in the Fall and they said they didnt care..they want ME!WOOHOO!!!! ok I'll be sure to do the sunscreen thing.(hehehe! I cant help but think of the Baz Lhurman(sp?) song about "wearing sunscreen") I'll have to post that later for those who dont know it.I've also heard that a good moisturizer will help b/c you get really dried out up there.I'm used to the 100+heat here in TX but I guess its a different kinda heat up there.Thanks for the input y'all!
