I talked to the assistant dean of humanities/fitness and she said I'd just have to wait until I am healed and retake the classes,but I'm waiting on a phone call from the dean himself right now.I'm hoping I can say something that will bend a kind ear my way.*fingers crossed* "...just an earthbound misfit, I."

I'm at a relatively small community college and they dont offer much in the way of PE.I'd love to take swimming classes b/c I love to swim but its not offered.The only thing semi-less stressful to my foot are "Concepts of Fitness" or "Fitness Walking". CoF requires a 2mile run and fitness walking would be more like "fitness limping" for me right now lol.I was taking the least stressful thing they offered...bowling and I cant even limp down the lane enough to do that. Pardon the rant,but I'm pissed! Since being diagnosed with plantar faciitis I've had to drop both my Phys Ed classes at the college b/c I'm unable to participate.These classes are required for my degree and thus I cant graduate in December.Hell depending on when and how long it takes to heal I dont know that I'll graduate at all!They say it could take up to a year to heal.Needless to say my plans to go to the police academy are shot too for the time being.Plus I had to scrap my gym membership b/c of $ issues. WTF?I felt/thought I was on the right track with my life and then everything goes to hell! God this sounds familiar. My mom thinks I might have torn something in my foot too from my symptoms and the sudden onset of all of this.God I hope I dont need surgery and it can be fixed with some good inserts and the above suggestions along with some life modifications.*crosses fingers* I've been a damn fool thinking "oh it'll go away soon" for the past several months and its only now that its gotten worse that I'm listening to my body saying "no it wont!" I dont know what I'm going to do about this one...I'm in a bowling class for my college PE credit right now and will be in bowling 2 next semester.I HAVE to take these classes before the Fall semester starts b/c if I dont I wont graduate in December.Let me tell ya, I've never limped so bad in my life as I have today after my first day of bowling in those uncomfortable,flatfooted,no-arch-supporting mofo shoes!!!THEN went and worked at the PD on top of that.I came home and took a painkiller and a beer (yeah I know they dont mix well but dammit I'm hurting!) I have to do ALOT of walking for my internship at the Police Dept. AND alot of desk work before I can do my ride-alongs.I'm going to google some good stretch techniques on top of your recommendations.(thanks for them)Thank god its only in one foot!! I've had a real shitty time with what I thought was a heel spur over the last several months only to find out its not a heel spur.Instead I've been diagnosed with a "severe" case of Plantar fasciitis...I've never heard of it before.All I know is that it hurts like hell and its probably going to stop me from going to the Police Academy in the Spring b/c most treatments take about a year to recover from. My only options other than surgery are night splints and corrective footwear/shoe inserts and lots of anti-inflammatories.Keep in mind, I dont have any insurance either,so surgery is out. I've been trying to do my homework over this by talking to my mom who is an RN and googling some info. but I figured maybe some of you medical types out there might have some good insight,info or advice for me aswell. So honestly what are my options/what can I do right now and what am I up against?Help!Thanks in advance. *note: I'm only asking for info and recommendations...I'm not asking for a quick fix or anything just to avoid my own MD and his advice,which I already have.I'm just looking at my options right now. I havent had your specific type of injection therapy before,but I've had 12 injections of Hyaluronic Acid in my knees after an injury to regain some of the viscosity(sp?) so as not to have bone on bone rubbing together in my knees. I went to a pain management therapist for this procedure.It took 1 injection every 3-4 weeks for it to work...and I should be going back to get more but,alas, no insurance since the divorce. It wasnt a bad experience even though he did use a really long needle to get inside my knee with,but it was relatively small in gauge...probably an 18 to 20 or maybe smaller,I'm not sure.It did hurt a little even with the topical anestetic b/c he was filling my knee with this stuff and you could feel the fluid moving into the joint and such...it felt really squishy to me! I know my mom had to have a fluroscopy procedure done on her lumbar area after her car wreck.I'll ask her about it and see if she has any input for ya.

The only medical records they gave me were receipts from the vet for his yearly shots and when he was neutered.They supposedly did alot of tests and screenings on him at A&M when he was young (never got those records either!)b/c he was born with only one testicle.I'm assuming thats why they cut him,so as not to pass on that trait,but it still seems stupid to cut such a well bred,beautiful animal to me.His grandparents were born and bred in Germany for crying out loud.Ofcourse that doesnt really mean anything now.*shrug* So no I don't have a full medical dossier on him.I'm going to contact his breeder though and see what turns up from that.But they live in the Virgin Islands,so I dont know if I'll get a response all the way from there. We're not 100% sure its CHD b/c there wasnt an xray.He favors his right hip and wont put weight on it if you pick up his left leg...he'll just lay down.Plus its progressively worse after alot of activity and the vet said he could feel some "give" in the joint when he did the manual exam.The vet said he didnt have as good a muscle tone/definition in his right hip/leg either.So thats what we're basing this hypothesis on. We'll be going back for xrays and other tests soon. Right now hes on a glucosamine, chondroitine, and hyaluronic acid vitamin supplement and Previcox for inflammation/pain relief. *sigh* what a cluster fuck! "...just an earthbound misfit, I."

I agree.I've only had Tucker for a little over a month.His previous owners said he didnt have a big problem with cats and he handles my outside "barn cat" just fine.So I dont get it,why just this other cat?I'm just glad I didnt see it.My dad buried her before I woke up and my mom told me about it this morning.So I dont know exactly what happened between them. Plus I just found out he has hip dysplasia and adolescent onset arthritis from the dysplasia,which is another thing they didnt tell me about.I emailed them telling them about it and the drug therapy hes now on and they didnt act surprised.So now I'm wondering what else they didnt tell me about him and if they were just trying to unass him to me b/c he will have expensive vet bills in the long run rather than "b/c they couldnt give him enough attention". I've already enrolled us in "K-9 Click" an obedience training class done by a former K-9 unit officer in early June.Now I'm worried that he might be aggressive towards the other dogs in the class even though hes ok with our other dog.I dont know what to do! Hopefully this wont be happening to anyone else's cat b/c we live in the country and there isnt anyone within a mile of our place and our place is 80acres large.He only leaves the property to go to the vet or groomer. My cat was killed by my new dog at 4am this morning b/c she snuck out the back door and was too fast to catch her.I guess the dog was quicker than we were. I dont understand it either b/c he doesnt bother the outside cat,just poor Cleo.She was 13 yrs old.I wish she could have gone in a better way. When I was senior in high school I had a guy whom I met at an ROTC conference in D.C. call me from NY and invited me to fly to NY from TX and go to prom with him.He paid for all the frills too...plane tickets round trip,limo to and from the airport to a private hotel room for me,then to a $100per plate dinner and then to the prom.All I had to do was buy the dress. ....needless to say, he lost his virginity on prom night.
