I play roller derby. lots of girl on girl battling. one of the roughest parts is trying to pick out with panties will make your ass look best at a bout. But seriously, I've got "rink rash" on my hip from having my feet swept out from under me and a nice bruise and swollen spot on my leg from where someone stepped down with their skate on me. The last bout we played, we had a dislocated shoulder, whiplash, concussion, and broken ribs.

That's why I continued with coached jumps. I really didn't have any problems with canopy control or anything, however, it was kinda scary to be cut loose so soon compared to others... Especially the prospect of, HOLY SH!T What would I do if I had to do a cutaway so early in skydiving?! Although we went over EPs like a gajillion times. I can find those handles in my sleep and in the correct order. But, sadly, I've come to a break in my skydiving life... I don't have time anymore and money... you know. plus, I've gotten into roller derby now, and it keeps me distracted from other sports! ...... yeaaa..... I did a SHITTON of tunnel time and my first jump itself I had already accomplished most of the stuff I needed to do. I just really had to work on canopy control. which is pretty much all I did with my other student jumps. My sister and I both kinda did the accelerated course like that. I still did coached jumps until the 7th jump. and even still, I continue to work very closely with my mentors and coaches. :) I guess that's a benefit of having a sibling working at a tunnel. I haven't yet mastered head down, but, as soon as I can get back to the tunnel, that'll be next. THAT is when I was SUPPOSED to do my first AFF jump... needless to say, Nick Scott-Tomlin and myself stayed grounded. when I was supposed to do jump number 2, again, freezing and overcast. so, I learned to pack instead. my 4th jump was beautiful, I passed all my objectives for AFF and was signed off, and JUMPED my first official pack job. good things come to those who wait (or maybe I'm a little crazy, but whatever!). I took Air Canada from Orlando to Toronto to Shanghai. came back from Beijing to Toronto to Orlando. I had no problems whatsoever. I did find it funny that they served Cup O Noodles at one part.

For general info, if anyone has questions as to why acupuncture works or anything like that, here is some info: Yes it does help tremendously depending on your individual complaint (chronic pain tend to take forever to reverse, the injury didn't occur overnight, nor will the recovery). More or less, the needles create microtrauma to the local area which causes the body to flood it and the surrounding areas with blood, white blood cells to fight infection as well as some hormones. It takes a week for those areas to heal (although you really won't be able to tell, no bruising generally occurs and really neither does bleeding). In that time, your body continually flushes the area out in order to fix it. At first, your practitioner may choose to see you once or maybe even twice per week. Over time, the treatments will be spread out. Many insurance companies are now covering at least office visits. If not, most acupuncturists will work with you on a cash basis. Best advice yet! The Indian river is LITERALLY the only thing that separates the Space Center from Titusville. There are a SHITTON of cheapass motels right on the river (they have run down a little bit...) and some nicer ones the closer you get to SR 50/Cheney Hwy. There is a high school there- Titusville HS, the closer you get to that area, I've found, is best, but, just make sure you understand that it's going to be crowded and if you'll end up traveling WEST again, you'll be sitting in the worst traffic imaginable. Stay in Tville if you can. I grew up there and I've seen so many launches that it's not exciting to me anymore. HOWEVER, my dad works there, so, I always watch just to make sure everything goes well. It's always nice seeing that my daddy still has a job when the shuttle goes up with little to no problems.

I just got some new piercings, so, I figured I'd finally post on here what I have. I have a back/spinal piece from the "tramp stamp" area all the way up to about where my collar is- sun/moon/stars. a ribbon with "Hope" and two roses on my left wrist. A tree frog on the top of my left foot. 2 piercings in each ear lobe. Right ear cartilage is pierced. Right nostril. tongue. VCH. and as of this past saturday, 2 dermal anchors in my chest. I absolutely LOVE my coworkers! One is a bit of a drama queen, but, it's nothing I can't handle. The other doctors I work with are amazing. I seriously couldn't have asked for a better office staff! I don't hug my patients. I may put my hand on their forearm or shoulder... I spend a good length of time with my patients too, 20-30 minutes or so on average. If a patient approaches me for a hug, I do the whole one-armed, mostly side-of-my-body approach, as to not let them think anything different than I'm just happy they are feeling better. Granted, most of my patients are female patients who are much older, mean age 85 or so? So, they are all like my grandma, and they are some of the sweetest little ladies. but still, there are so many out there who are a little too happy about trying to sue, it's just best to keep a little distance. Just approach him and just tell him you are uncomfortable. in ANY relationship, whether it is doctor-patient, siblings, significant others, the key is communication.
