Just sell your stiletto and get a Sabre2. It's a great wing to start learning hp landings.

fyp. I've seen bag locks with standard rubber bands too. I've used tubes for 500 jumps now no problem. I take some care in stowing the lines though. [edit] not saying it wouldn't somewhat increase the risk of a bag lock though.[/edit]

It's a 5-10 minute job to lenghten the steering lines and remove the problem.
-
I would disagree on that. It can cause quite a lot of stress to one's neck, and the impact is horizontal which I would think would be worse than vertical stress. Unless you'r really good at it ;)

What reserve do you use? Anyone else have any other experiences?

I've been real happy with mirage. Just ordered my second brand new G4. Third mirage overall. :p The fit is great and they are super comfortable.

25 Ways to become a better canopy pilot
cube replied to strop45's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
superb. Someone linked it to our club's forum too. :) -
Shenanigans ? Packing/packers issue
cube replied to KevinMcguire89's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
this also then....I'd avoid the place completely. I wouldn't want to jump in that kind of place either. -
I couldn't resist a little troll, but I'll keep it small and not continue ;)

so ? did you have a look ? Sure. Falls in the category of me trusting myself not to throw my pilot chute into my camera gear like I said. :)

is it wise to buy a Pilot 188 with 120 reserve?
cube replied to CloudyHead's topic in Safety and Training
thought so from the pic... no problem -
if you are interested to know the story, search the incidents forum, thread title is something like : Last night a CYPRES saved my life. You have the whole story, and at the end there is a link to the video. will take a look, thanks.

why wouldn't you tell me here?

In what kind of camera entanglement will AAD help? If it's pilot chute(can't really figure why I would throw that into my camera gear), then maybe, but I still would use the reserve myself before AAD activation. I'm just saying that at this point I trust myself enough to jump without one at certain situations. Absolutely not saying it's not a great thing to have on a rig.

the landing area isn't smooth enough to slide anyway, so I wear kind of hiking shoes for grip. Don't really restrict running since doesnt go too far up the anckle. They are gore tex too, which is nice if it has rained before.

tandem rating good for any dropzone?
cube replied to poodlemaster's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Sounds a bit strange to get a tandem rating just to take one gal for a jump.. -
If I took measures in minimizing the possibility of a collision in freefall, I wouldn't use one.. But as long as there are sometimes low time jumpers in air with me and/or I'm freeflying, I'll have one in my rig.

maybe its a typing error, and the poster meant to say 210 sqft? -
My first scare. Toggle turn stall and line twist.
cube replied to ttribe's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I too got myself in linetwists and chopped 'cause of them when I was a student. Be smooth. -
Does it fit in it? Mirage's sizing guide says 107 katana/vengeance/xfire is optimal for MX, though last time I ordered "optimal" mirage for sabre2, it was acctually quite soft. edit to add: reserve would be optimum 126.

They all seem to be waterproof unlike original versions.
-
Yea it's pretty much useless unless the container is very tight. :) I don't use mine in packing my own rig, but sometimes use it in case I'm helping a student with a hurry pack(someone else needs the rig for the next load.. we don't have too many student rigs)
-
http://skydiving.pl/img/packboy_.jpg this rocks. Especially with student gear that have spring pilot chutes. And yes you will learn some new tricks to improve your closing technique. It's not all about how hard you can pull the cord. :)

Nice monday morning. Good weekend behind. Even though the weather was crap, got 2 jumps during the weekend.. Got to love jumping while ground is covered in snow. :)

Well I think it's good to find out the best price, I only do it myself and don't ask other people to do it for me.. You can find out the best price just as well as any one else around..
