  1. Sounds like a deal to me. I paid $1200 for my PC101 when it first came out. Been real happy with it all except for a cracked board for my lanc port. But I think that was from my abuse. I know a few people that use one, haven't heard any complaints from them. KW
  2. Could anyone please tell me if there's any real downfalls with the Digital Rebel vs. other popular digitals. I'm looking at getting one soon unless someone tells me it has a lot of problems. Thanks
  3. I already took one for the team. I'm fresh out.
  4. I don't know what your planning Pendejo, but I have a bad feeling. You guys have fun with that one. You can leave Wilbur out of it. I have to salvage what little dignity I have left after the loin cloth incident.
  5. I don't have any pics, but I have an Optik with an articulated bracket and swivel clamp and ring site. I mounted it on the upper right side of the helmet with the ring sight extending down over my left eye. I do this because I'm left eye dominent and I can't hardly see the crosshair with my right eye. The articulated bracket is good cause I can swing the sight out of the way if I need. Hope this helps you out a little. Keith
  6. Go to pricescan.com and do a search there. You'll be able to find a PC-101.
  7. It's my understanding that they built the X-fire2 with the intention of lightening the riser pressure that was with the X-fire1. I could pick myself out of the harness with my X-fire1 139. Now I have a 109 and it's remarkably better. If this is happening with your x-fire 2 then something has to be wrong. my 2cents
  8. I have a Rebel EOS 2000 and I use the Conceptus tongue switch with out any problems. As long as the 3000 kept the same type of remote plug. It looks like a headphone jack on the right side of the camera. I also have a tight chin cup. You would want a tongue switch. With a bite switch, you run the risk of shifting the helmet when you use the switch. That would suck unless you use a ring sight to keep everything in frame. Also I heard that bite switches wear out over time. Hope this helps.
  9. Does your hawkeye have the flat top? The stroboframe I have just mounts to the top of my optic with 2 screws from the inside. If you don't have the flat top, then I'm not sure. That's out of my league. You'd have to fasion some type of mount to counter act the curve of the helmet and give you a flat surface in which to mount the stroboframe. Keith
  10. Is there a big difference in using 200 spd vs. 400 spd. I know 200 is for outdoors and 400 for indoors. I'm just trying to find out if either would be better for freefall, besides the price.
  11. I agree with blair, I got a 10 pack of premium sony dv tapes for $40 on ebay.
  12. What is the best type of mount to use for a still camera for the top of an Optic or a Hawkeye? I want to use a quick release. I just want some opinions on how secure they are, the cost, and the best place to get them. Thanks
  13. F*ck Quatorze Rodriguez!!!!! Love ya, mean it.
  14. I was one of four jumpers that did a demo into Shaw AFB last October. Landed right in front of the Thunderbirds. Man that was a fun demo. 2 weeks ago I was one of two that did a demo for the American Cancer Society into a middle school football field. Thought about hooking though the uprights, but I didn't want to press my luck. I did scare the crap out of them with the 180 degree left riser. Man I love a good Demo.
  15. The "other" Airforce team is "the chuting stars" and it is filled with PJ's and CCT guys. They hold their tryouts and do yearly training at NAS Boca Chica in Florida, seven miles from Key West. When our C-130 broke down about two years ago on one of my many KW trips, they let me borrow their C-17 for a HALO lift. I took myself and four other people up to 12,999 and JM'd the lot of us off the ramp. Five people.......nice Where can I find info about these guys concerning tryouts, etc.
  16. Ya, that's a snap turn for me. I'll hold a 270 carve for about 3-4 seconds at about 400 ft. I can't hold a carve for much longer than that, the riser pressure is too great.
  17. Pendejo, you never told me about the excess brake line thing. Damn. I think I'll start stowing mine as well.
  18. My Crossfire 139(original) loaded 1.4 with weights and camera stuff. 300ft. 180 degree front riser = massive swoop.
  19. I jump a crossfire, so I don't worry about spine allignment and all that stuff. I look up on deployment, hands to the risers and ride my nice looong opening.
  20. I'm left eye dominent, but I'm right handed. It sucks for my skeet shooting cause I have to put a piece of tape over my left eye to shoot right handed and be able to shoot with both eyes open like you should. I have my ring sight over my left eye.
  21. I had a GRDVM75 JVC and it was a good thing I got the extended service plan from best buy. A couple of months after I started using it, I found out that the playback on the camera was crap. And the camera would always say to clean the heads. I turned it in to JVC and they said it was moisture damage and it was not fixable. My PC101 would never do that. JVC sucks.
  22. My first and only crew jump(so far) was on jump #235. And we got a 3-stack. Definitely looking forward to the next one.
  23. I've had my a cam eye in my PC101 for about 6 months now with no problems. I hope it's not contagious.
