  4. ive been jumping my crossfire2 119 for a while now, and it snivels for a long time. im looking to speed up the openings, any suggestions? currently pro pack, split the nose, keep the center cell exposed, and dont push anything in. ive tried leaving the entire nose exposed, but on heading openings suffered. im jumping it with a wingsuit, so heading is a big deal to me with this small of a canopy Flock University FWC / ZFlock B.A.S.E. 1580 Aussie BASE 121
  5. the ribs on the strix are made of "Skytex hard 38 gram zero porosity material with crossports" I owned an Rbird2, still own an X1, and have jumped a friends Freak a bunch of times. my Strix just arrived today. ill post back after i get it aired out. i am not sponsored by anyone and will provide an unbiased opinion once i get it in the air. ok i received my Strix, i absolutely love this suit! hands down the best suit ive ever flown. i exited on my back the very first jump. had zero problems with stability and pitch. it felt very natural to fly. transitions are a breeze, losing zero altitude. i was flying with a freak2 and out floating it with zero effort. i put it head down and it was perfectly smooth, no bobbling around. i cannot believe the power this suit has, honestly its really wild. i can flare on my back and gain so much altitude its unreal. i laid the suit on top of my Aura and could not believe how big it was. the aura has longer grippers, maybe 1/2" more tail and a little less arm sweep. when flying it there is no comparison, the aura has very high arm fatigue after floating it for a couple min, i didnt notice any arm pressure at all in the strix. there is absolutely zero comparison to the Rbird2, they are completely 2 different classes of suits, the rbird2 is much smaller. as far as the freak2 comparison, the freak seems to have more arm sweep and does not float as well, forward speeds are basically identical. with the strix i can fly the whole range of speed on its back with out my pitch being affected. i could not do that in the freak2. i can hit the brakes on my back and keep it level no problem. i struggled in the freak2 unless it was close to max or somewhat headlow. im still getting used to a few things on the strix because i didnt fly PF suits much. 1 flat grippers, strange feel but work good in the air, 2 zipper system. im used to the full body length zippers of Tony/Squirrel so gearing up is still feeling weird to me, 3 bootie snaps instead of magnets (i will swap the snaps to magnets) 4 the short leg zipper pulls. im not sponsored by anyone and paid full price for my suit. this is an honest review. *when i orderd the suit i requested thicker 420 denier fabric instead of their normal parapack, i prefer longevity over light weight Flock University FWC / ZFlock B.A.S.E. 1580 Aussie BASE 121
  6. i had 2 out from a wings, the reserve flap was always coming untucked. the rig was sized for me. you know how i fixed it? i got a vector. ive never been a fan of that short tiny tuck tab covering my pin. now my pin is covered by a flap that closes in the opposite direction and actually gives protection. good luck. it wasnt worth it for me. piece of mind goes a long way in this sport Flock University FWC / ZFlock B.A.S.E. 1580 Aussie BASE 121

  8. I guess that's all a matter of opinion Keith, just got power back from hurricane irma. Pops had a heart attack during the storm, spent 12 days in icu. Hoping to pick him up today. But I've gotten into ppg flying and absolutely love it. Haven't sky jumped much this year. Got a new strix on the way, should be here end of the month. We need to catch up. Hope you're doing good! 9. i put a backfly vent on my xbird and it flies great now on its back. just make a cardboard 3d template. cut out the fabric, sew it up, and attach. then hotknife the wingsuit fabric inside of the vent. i used some plastic as a stiffener to keep the vent open Flock University FWC / ZFlock B.A.S.E. 1580 Aussie BASE 121

  11. ive been flying PPG for a few months now, not much transfers over. flare timing is really different than skydiving/base Flock University FWC / ZFlock B.A.S.E. 1580 Aussie BASE 121
  12. i think the R2 is the smaller of the suits you are looking at. I would say if you want to keep the class of the suits the same, you should look at Tony's foghead2/psycho... it has a longer tail than the r2 so it will be more comparable to the Freak2 and Strix. 13. you only get 3 alarms, but you can also have it count down the altitude every thousand feet. i love mine Flock University FWC / ZFlock B.A.S.E. 1580 Aussie BASE 121
  14. vector makes the same container for taller people, they have the "1" in the size. a vector 306 and 316 hold the same size canopies, but the 316 has longer packtrays. i tried a 306 and a 316 side by side and i chose the 316 because the pud is a lot easier to find if you have a long torso/arms. 17. Optimum fabric with ZP nose. It packs smaller than f111. Also they use the same material on the proxy base canopy. Openings are very similar to the pilot 7. Seems like a faster opening, lighter weight Spectre to me. It will have a shorter lifespan than zp. Its PD's version of the epicene, with a better flare. 18. i shoot with the 16mm also. great lense! i have used it for over the top wingsuit record formations and close ups. couldnt be happier. that thing focuses like nobodys business! Flock University FWC / ZFlock B.A.S.E. 1580 Aussie BASE 121
  19. Thank you very much man! I can't even begin to tell you how much this helps me. I've been trying to figure out how to budget a mac into my quiver and wasn't liking the timeline. You are the man! I'm at work now, I'll try it out when I get home. Thank again! Flock University FWC / ZFlock B.A.S.E. 1580 Aussie BASE 121
  20. thanks John! ill try the opacity. Jeff Donahue was helping me last weekend and we could not get the layers to work together. I can get the photo in there fine, and i can get the layer in there, i just cant get them to work together. The grid was white and you can barely see the red lines. but i cant get the lines to appear over the photo Flock University FWC / ZFlock B.A.S.E. 1580 Aussie BASE 121
  21. I've got photoshop and the wingsuit grid downloaded. I'm trying to get the grid layer to fit over a still. I'm using a pc, is there anyone that uses a pc and not a mac? I could really use some help. Thanks, Jeremy. Flock University FWC / ZFlock B.A.S.E. 1580 Aussie BASE 121
  22. Try an n3a. You can enable/disable canopy, freefall, and count down alarms, as well as set the heights and volumes. You can even record your own wav file and have it play that! Flock University FWC / ZFlock B.A.S.E. 1580 Aussie BASE 121
