  1. We just spent the weekend hanging out with John and Valinda Mitchell, and they rock (as if we don't already know that)
  2. Wow! Thanks for all of the great information! We'll have to try out both driving and public transportation and see what's easier for us (we'll definitely have a car). We'll be coming with a toddler, so the idea of hucking him, our gear, and his things seems unappealing at best (it's unpleasant without rigs, if I'm being perfectly honest )
  3. Nice! I'm not sure how far away we'll be by train, but google maps says the DZ is about 2.5 hours away driving. I'm assuming traffic is delightful in and around Tokyo, much like it was in Seoul, and that it'll be substantially more than that.
  4. Yep, next year or the year after or the one after that . I've had my B license for over five years now, and I've yet to make a night jump. Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully, I'll still remember to email when we arrive in country
  5. Night jumps are on September 13th. Alternate dates (weather) are 14th, 20th and 27th, in that order. Thanks for the heads up! We definitely won't arrive by the 13th. Plus, I'm not sure either one of us will be current by the time we get there
  6. Hi! Thanks for all of the great info! Because my husband will ask: Are there wingsuiters? I'm looking forward to meeting you next month!
  7. Who's there? We're moving out that way next month
  8. This. I also have a popular name for my age. I also prefer Abigail, but I do think both sound nice. We talked about doing the two middle names, but we decided against it for paperwork purposes. What do you put for your middle initial? It was a cause of stress for me in my pregnancy haha. For me, my initials have never been a problem, either before or after marriage. You bring up a good point, however; kids (especially) will certainly find some way to make fun, if at all possible. When mrowc6 and I were expecting our son, he had his heart set on Christopher. I took one look at that and saw how our son would grow up hearing "Merry ChrisSmith" at every turn, and put my foot down. I really wanted Sam to be a Leo, but my husband said Leo Patrick was way too close to Cleopatra Can't wait to see pictures of sweet baby Brooklyn!

  10. Congrats! He's a cutie!!!
  11. Yeah, we packed up our gear for the 2+ years we lived there. It just wasn't worth the time or money (two skydivers on one income in Korea just wasn't going to work for us). There is a LOT to do in Seoul, though
  12. Happy Memorial Day, I'm absolutely with you, it's a weird phrase; but I definitely disagree about no celebration. We celebrate and honor those who gave their lives for our freedom.
  13. I just took a journey through wikipedia learning about various serial killers. Yep, don't think I'll ever pick up a hitchhiker now.
  14. Here you go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hitch-Hiker JerryBaumchen PS) It is actually a very good movie; I saw it when it came out, it was really scary then. This is basically what I imagine happening every time I pass a hitchhiker Thanks for making me feel like less of a jerk for not stopping
  15. What are your thoughts on picking them up? I passed an old man hitch hiking yesterday on my road (country road pretty close to town). I always feel guilty passing people by, but I'm small and not confident in my ability to defend myself and my infant son in the event the hiker is dangerous.

  17. Ditto. I did lose a lot more weight than I expected after I had my son, though. I was really happy with my pre baby body, so it took some time to get used to being this small.
  18. Well, I did before you said you were vegetarian. Try Umami Mia, if you aren't vegan. It's a pizza place. It's on the way into the Nature and Science center, which is pretty neat.
  19. Yes, ALL OF THIS!! Praying for your journey and for mama, baby, and daddy! So exciting!
  20. LOL Dude join the 21st century I'm sitting in my hostel room in Guatemala, posting this from my Samsung galaxy Note 10, tethered to my smart phone. I have previosly travelled all over the world, and am currently travelling Central and South America, and then Spain. I only ever stay in hostels. Use common sense, vett your accommodations, and dont fuck with purple haired hungarians. You CAN travel with modern conveniences just be sensible. Glad to see you're still squeaking, Squeak
