  1. hey hixxx, are any friends from the southeast going to make it up for some good iowa partying? or did we scare them all away at dublin?
  2. duh! of course i'll be there. i will be accepting bribes on wednesday in cash or liquid form () from those who want to be bumped up in the electrical outlet hookup rotation. i'm also accepting applications for billo's beauties, more details to come...
  3. hell, the midwest freefly legend J.C. might even be our FF LO this year, but we'll never tell you. we'll just dangle the thought of it around in front of the masses in hopes of getting more people to attend this year's boogie. more updates to come...
  4. i prefer teaching people to pass with regular ol clubs, but if we're gonna start off with torches then so be it!! if i can have someone haul some extra luggage down there for me i will bring some clubs to do some passing action.
  5. Iwan, That's a pretty sweet flash bracket. I'm interested in refabricating one or purchasing one for myself. Was it homemade or ordered off the shelf? (just the bracket, not the QR ) Thanks, Bill
  6. yep, you made it! big props to david on the video! watching it almost made me think of thinking more seriously of what a mac can do when it comes to video editing and dvd authoring.
  7. blue skies shannon! thursdays won't be the same w/o you, it was fun drinking with you all those winter games. i'm glad we got one game in together at dublin. best of vibes go out to all her family and friends. this is rough news...she was taken away way to soon.
  8. looping isn't so much a function of the video editing, as much as it is the dvd authoring. as in, looping is more a function of how your menus are set up and how the disc is programmed to behave, rather than just editing the video to be itself back-to-back ten times. (turning a 5 minute promo into a single 50 minute file) on PC i use DVD-lab pro for dvd authoring and it can set up loops and playlists quite easily. i know the pro and studio versions have this functionality, but not sure if the standard version can do this or not off the top of my head.
  9. hehe you're a great spanker, but i owe jay one for picking me up one dark and not-so-stormy night!
  10. HA! that sounds almost like my trip to GA. jay, i'd have to hook you up, but my ride is no where near as pimp as your van.
  11. spence, i completely understand your argument. i'm not even sure why this thread isn't locked yet as the posts are getting incredibly childish, personal, and straying off topic. alas... during my short season (due to school) in 2005 (and i know this since i recently did my taxes) i drove 8464 miles, averaging 455 miles per weekend of drive time to go to fun dropzones and fun boogies in NE and IA. i did this because i could not find a closer dropzone in KS or MO that had the airplanes, facilities, videographer rate (selfish reason), VIBE, fun jumper rate, or nearby location (# of miles) that made them worth my money...let alone a dropzone that allowed me to jump with a 265 exit weight when my reserve is TSO'd to 254 (and please, nobody hijack this thread due to the TSO comment...stick to the illusive subject matter at hand). i won't bother to suggest the number of miles driven in 2001 thru 2004 in pursuit of a location that i was welcomed to jump at. DZ's in KC have zero reason to fear each other unless they feel they are playing catch up. at the new DZ, KCSC, i have been told, "it doesn't matter if you go jump somewhere else, as long as you had a fun time while you were here". i wish that remark was echoed at all locations throughout the sport and country. but mentioning "dropzone ethics" in the same sentence as "kansas city", holy crap, i don't think that has happened in quite awhile. "that's all i've got to say about the war in vietnam..." for now... peace, billo PS - thanks to all the posters in this thread who made me laugh today, i laughed so hard my face hurt and that is better than most days as the office PPS - spence, do you remember me complaining about KC through all those beers at dublin? now you see my pain...
  12. sounds like a blast. looking forward to being there either on a team or shooting video if you need me! i'll pack my grippers suit (in case i end up on a fast team), damn, i wonder if that thing still fits!!!
  13. yer KILLIN me!!! # tourneys, avg. # beat, gotta be somethin i can move up on! 9 weeks down isn't too bad for playing a few times as many, it'll just take one nice place to get me back out of the red. really though, i appreciate your vote of confidence!!!
  14. dam, i'm sucking that bad? i was going to take this thursday off to go party, but now i'm thinking REDEMPTION!!! thanks for posting. would also be cool if you uploaded the csv or xls so that peeps can sort on different rows.
  15. Can't believe nobody mentioned the hilarious advertisements that you might run across in Skydiving...
  16. holy crap, that was a helluva storm that rolled through this evening! hopefully mother nature got that out of her system and the weekend will be AWESOME. looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!
  17. keep flinging those torches around and you're bound to find one. girls only want boyfriends who have great skills! you know, torch juggling skills, bowhunting skills, computer hacking skills....
  18. details should be up soon at www.couchfreaks.com, i'll pester the webmaster to get it up there. boogie is organized and ran by the des moines skydivers, a c182/c206 club out of winterset, IA. gates open @ noon on wednesday august 30th. usually get a load or two up wednesday evening. planes fly all day monday september 4th as long as jumpers are around. http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?latlongtype=internal&addtohistory=&latitude=wcmJIQhVo0c%3d&longitude=Wx6OZk1xv4w%3d&name=Fort%20Dodge%20Regional%20Airport%20%28FOD%29&country=US&address=1639%20Nelson%20Ave%20%23%202&city=Fort%20Dodge&state=IA&zipcode=50501&phone=515%2d573%2d3881&spurl=0&&q=Airports&qc=Airports
  19. holy crap...mapquest puts the trip for me at 22h21m to Kalispell, then 50 more minutes from there. if i'm going to make it, i'll definitely need to find someone to carpool with. or what's the closest commercial airport to there? flying in worked good for me in georgia, i just might need to do that again!
  20. pictures pictures pictures! to make it easier for everyone, i put up a few friday and saturday pictures up in a gallery. maybe this link works for you and maybe it doesn't...if not, just go to photo galleries and dig into my personal gallery. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/gallery/imageFolio.cgi?direct=Personal_Galleries/billo/dublin2006 if you're not identified in the caption and want to be, speak up! i'll try to add more next week, but these were all i had time for last night.
  21. when i'm logged into my photo gallery (http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/gallery/imageFolio.cgi?direct=Personal_Galleries/billo), there is a FAQ link in the left nav pane that is broken...here's the link it points to - http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/faq/smartfaq.cgi?subject=1055895917 i'd love to see it point to the proper location if there is still an FAQ out there
