How many jumpsuits or skydiving outfits do you have?
robskydiv replied to Jessica's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
One Crater suit w/swoop cords and now Afterburners. Woohoo. -
Way to be Joe! Keep Jumpi'n!

Rgoper, I get your point and respect it. We should all be mentally prepared to react to emergency situations regardless of our equipment. If not, why skydive? Personally, I depend upon my light wingloadng for an extra measure of safety, but I'll also depend on mentally rehearsing emergency proedures. Time will tell if I become complacent.

Kudos to your instrucors. Now that is the type of people you want to be trained by. Obviously they instilled the confidence in you that you put to use and congratulations on those successful skydives. -
Congrats Yoshi! Train them up now. and have fun doing it.

How did you get involved into skydiving?
robskydiv replied to robskydiv's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Watching Point Break made me want to try it and then I met a pharmacist who had actually made it about half-way through the static-line program and he referred me to an instructor. The guy had his own plane in his hangar next to his house and he trained me and a friend right there in the hangar. But the seed had been planted long before that. I remember my uncle telling me to come with him outside. He threw something into the air. A blue plastic parahute-man came floating down to the earth. I was only two at that time. -
"Over a few beers?" You guys must have had a few 12 packs.

Christian Ministry to Skydivers

I think that a prayer for everyone's safety would be a good thing. I'd probably stop into your tent to check it out. I usually pray on the ride to altitude and on the way to the drop zone. -
Yea Lurch, an then they go" inching along the freeway in their metal coffins..."

Hello Jessica. In response to minimizing risk, situational awareness is a big key. You may want to purchase the video "Fly Like A Pro." Just a thought. Harry

IMHO, CrazyIvan I like the way the Wings container looks. If it's as comfortable as it looks to be, I'd go for it. Harry

I voted in the feline category however I remembered the ring-tailed lemurs at the Nashville Zoo. We'd love to have a few of them in the backyard.

It's was good to "unplug" from CNN while the war was going on. The rest will be good. But you've got to return. It wouldn't be the same without you. Harry "If you go, we go." BackDraft

Yo' mama is o fat, she's got other little fat ladies orbiting around her. She's so big, she went to the movies and sat next to everyone. She stepped onto the dance floor and the band skipped. Every time she turns around it's her birthday. I've got more...

Rgoper, don't forget the trip flares and claymores out in the yard. Harry btw I don't blame you one bit. Harry

Congrats on your successful jump. Some instructors refer to line twists as abnormalities as opposed to severe line twists which is definitely a malfunction. No matter. You dealt with it and have a little more experieince than you did before you jumped. Keep it up. It sounds like you have an excellent instructor. Harry

You are right Mac. I stand corrected. I gleaned some good tips from the WARP video though, about slowfall. Harry
