  1. an update regarding concerns about the facility: http://www.kmbc.com/news/plans-for-indoor-skydiving-complex-draws-concerns-in-overland-park/31078322 Indoor Skydiving Source - The Leading Indoor Skydiving Resource
  2. I can only assume it will be similar to the new models that iFLY is coming out with. They are either shorter, dug deeper, or both to put the flight chamber closer/at to ground level. This could be similar idea to other machines like Airspace. I won't know for sure the full answer on the construction of the new iFLY models until I see detailed pictures or visit. You can see the general idea of this on the iFLY Houston Woodlands image on ISS: http://www.indoorskydivingsource.com/tunnels/ifly-houston-woodland/ Indoor Skydiving Source - The Leading Indoor Skydiving Resource
  3. Not much information out yet, but chances are it is going to be another of the newer style "two story" iFLY machines like the one still under construction in Houston. http://www.indoorskydivingsource.com/tunnels/ifly-ontario/ Indoor Skydiving Source - The Leading Indoor Skydiving Resource
  4. Found a student, thank you. Indoor Skydiving Source - The Leading Indoor Skydiving Resource
  5. When I went through my AFF course at Lost Prairie years ago, I was awarded a Blue Alti2 Galaxy Altimeter through the Joel Atkinson Memorial Fund. I was cleaning up some old stuff and found the old altimeter in my gear bag. I no longer use the alti, and it is still in fine condition. As a student skydiver it was great to have such a necessary piece of equipment given to me for free (from such a great cause) and I want to pass that along. If there is a student who has recently passed AFF out there, or someone who knows a student who would put this alti to use, please message me with the details and I will forward the alti along free of charge.

  7. 138 way world record. Did a 142 way on the second day, but because the formation submitted to the judges wasn't drawn correctly it didn't count. Indoor Skydiving Source - The Leading Indoor Skydiving Resource
  8. AKA Panic reaction. That makes sense. I wonder if he waved off too? That low my only panic reaction is a quick shit in my pants and my reserve handle. Indoor Skydiving Source - The Leading Indoor Skydiving Resource
  9. The thing that confuses me about this video is why the guy with the camera sees his friend open then looks at the ground that close and goes for his main Indoor Skydiving Source - The Leading Indoor Skydiving Resource
  10. i had a slammer today that about knocked me out, luckly i only had my cx100 on. It came down to sloppy packing on my part. It made me realize that taking the time to pack right is always the best option... screw that 5 minute call, I want to be able to jump for 10 more years. 11. I own a t1i and have the xti armor for it. It fits fine, but it does not seem like the armor fits tight enough for freefall wind speeds. Does anyone have any experience with armor moving around in freefall or any tricks to prevent this? Indoor Skydiving Source - The Leading Indoor Skydiving Resource
  12. If your not set on the laptop, for 800 you can buy a hell of alot faster desktop that will be more suited for editing hd video. If not I would suggest going to dell and customizing something that meets your needs, not something they can push off the shelf at bestbuy. 13. This isn't a bad idea. if you could create a bond between the mount, the metal plate, and the plastic of the camera the whole system would be much stronger. Indoor Skydiving Source - The Leading Indoor Skydiving Resource
  14. A note is that my last mount broke while I was attaching it to the flatlock plate which does have a small foam pad. On my new cam mount the screw sits directly on the metal. I haven't had problems with this new mount, but I also didnt have problems with the flatlock mount by being much more careful. Indoor Skydiving Source - The Leading Indoor Skydiving Resource
  15. I just pulled the plate apart for some reinforcement surgery. The last time this part broke, the tab off the screw mount sheared off from the pressure. My idea is to take the stress from the tab/screw section and spread it out across the whole assembly. I took the whole deal apart then cleaned and scored the metal. I put some jb weld around the tab of the screw piece that sits on the bottom of the plate and put it in place with the screw. I put the whole 3 piece combination back into the plastic elbow and screwed it back together. I plastered the top of the screw mount with some more weld. I am still going to tighten this thing like its going to bust, so I won't be able to report on how it works but its some peace of mind to know its better than it was. 16. I bought the whole bottom assembly for some ridiculous 66 bucks or something. i did add express shipping so i could jump with it the next weekend. I think the part was something like 45-55 bucks. I am in the process of reinforcing this piece and i will post pictures of the part I had to buy in a bit. 17. I have had this break already. I am going to investigate a way to reinforce my new unbroken mount to prevent this for the future. If I find anything out ill post it here. Indoor Skydiving Source - The Leading Indoor Skydiving Resource
  18. has anyone found a way to reinforce this part as a preventative measure? Indoor Skydiving Source - The Leading Indoor Skydiving Resource
  19. DSE, Would you be able to post some comparison shots sometime in the future? I am sure there are more out there than just me who would like to see this, it would be appreciated. Indoor Skydiving Source - The Leading Indoor Skydiving Resource
  20. heading over friday morning, cant wait! you can put me on the list for the night jump and a large tee. my palms already sweating for the night jump... hold me to it and dont let me wuss out! Indoor Skydiving Source - The Leading Indoor Skydiving Resource
  21. I broke my cx100 in the exact same way. I ended up ordering the bottom l bracket piece that you have pictured. Its something like 45 bucks if you call the sony parts and accessories line. They are very hard to understand, and after getting two different part numbers i ended up with the right one. Crappy deal, but worth the money to have the cam as good as new. I cant remember what the part was called or what the part number was, just make sure if you have to order one that you tell them it is the part that contains the tripod screw and they should get the picture.
