  1. 100% I did, but not just for FF/dynamic, but all the time. I also take it further to say that you should be wearing knee pads when you're skydiving for kneeling in the plane and packing.   2. I don't think it makes a difference whether the helmet is plastic or carbon fiber. Carbon fiber does look good... My motorcycle helmet, Schuberth, is one of the best, if not the best, and it is plastic and not carbon fiber. Motorcycle helmets are tested and must pass to be certified. I don't think that any skydiving helmets get tested. I'd have to agree with Danornan here. I have both a carbon G2 and have had many plastic G3's and both worked great with little difference between the two other than the look. Agreed that skydiving and tunnel flying helmets aren't designed or tested for impact. Not that they shouldn't be, but most aren't. I fully realize are a range of options out there as good or better than the G3, and others that are worse. I've updated the article to reflect that. Specifically I added Skyhelmets as an option. I do believe it is a superior product to the G3 when it comes to flying in the tunnel, the issue is that it's not readily available. You have to do some digging to get your hands on one - not ideal for a beginner. With that being said, I believe the G3 is the closest to a universal recommendation. It's a solid helmet with most of the necessary features needed for indoor flying. As a product, it provides good value for your money. The article is aimed at helping everyone, including a complete beginner. The goal was to make a recommendation that has a darn good chance of being a helmet they will like, use, and have for a long time. I think of any option, the G3 fit's that bill the best.   10. If the 3 story description is true, this indicates it would be similar to what you see in naperville, rosemont, portland, ashburn etc - not the ground level design of the woodlands. The Aerodium mobile tunnel is a mobile propeller below tunnel - totally different beast than a recirculator. I would never describe it as a 'POS'. Flying in it is just an entirely different experience. I had the chance to fly that tunnel in downtown Chicago before they moved it to St Louis last year and literally had one of, if not my favorite tunnel sessions in it ever.   12. The Aerodium tunnel was there last season and as far as I know it is not there now. It's a travelling tunnel that is on the road in different locations all the time.   14. To explain, I wrote the article based on the only published material available on the subject (known to me). I work hard to keep ISS unbiased. The industry is obviously split and heated over this subject. True, I could have covered more aspects of the decision, but it would have become an opinion piece - something I don't want on ISS. I actually purposely wrote it as dry as possible. The goal with the website is to promote the sport of bodyflight as a whole, not one perspective. It's a touchy thing to do when you're reporting subjects like this. Clearly there are enough opinions on the subject and plenty of outlets to voice them (the comments section of the article being one).   17. The only additional bit of information I have to share is that the tunnel is 'private'. You can't really tell by looking at ISS though. The site has a private/closed section where tunnels that aren't open to the public end up. The way the site works, all coming soon tunnels are lumped with the publicly available tunnels. That means if it is private, it won't live in the private/closed section until after it opens. I never speculate when it comes to openings, but placing a private tunnel in the middle of a tourist area so close to the action as you say - its interesting to say the least.   19. This is not a SkyVenture tunnel. The tunnel is being constructed by a new company out of Dubai called Extreme Flight. I've been working with them to get information on their projects updated on ISS.   24. A tunnel that has a constant/increasing wind speed throughout a tall flight chamber vs a tunnel with a decreasing wind speed as you gain altitude in the flight chamber are very different. Consistent or stronger wind speeds above the head of a standing instructor have a big impact on the potential horizontal speed and amount of control an instructor has over a flyer. Plus if there is an issue with the flyer is above an instructor there is no opportunity for control of the horizontal situation except for making a catch when a flyer descends. FlyStation has a wind profile where shortly after a flyer goes above head height of an instructor, the naturally come back down. Some new, tall tunnels this is just the opposite. Agreed that horizontal speeds can be dangerous, but have to add that new tall tunnels add to the possible dangers.
