  1. As it turns out it was a night shift nurse, pretty much what I thought.
  2. Understood and agreed. However, comatosed women generally get their periods. Pregnant women cannot get their period, but can experience vaginal bleeding/spotting. I believe Bill's implication to be that a caregiver should have noticed the lack of period and therefor the indication of a possible pregnancy. My comment was aimed at that. Post #31 - As I noted above, jclalor works (or used to work) is a long term care facility. If anyone on here would know what is typical, reasonable, possible; atypical unreasonable or impossible, it would be him. If I had to take a wild guess, I would say something like this could have only happened between 1-4 AM. There is way too much going on during the day, evening, and early morning. Therapist, nurses, house keeping, CNA’s, and family are all in and out of the rooms during these times. At 2 in the morning, many CNA,s, nurses, and respiratory therapist hide out in vegetative Pt’s rooms to sleep for an hour or two, some even shut the doors. There would still be a huge element of risk. With males making up about 20% of the typical staff, I bet they have a list of around 4-5 suspects who work nights. I’m not sure how well you can distinguish visually a new borns ethnicity, but they're are many different ethnicities working in health care: Asian, Caucasian, African and Hispanic, so that could also narrow down the search. If something like this happened where I work, I couldn’t take a DNA test fast enough.
  3. Wow!!! 911 operator doesn’t know what an ambu bag is?
  4. It’s usually rare after ten years in a vegetative state to remain obese. All calories are going in through a tube and are easily controled. Sometimes vegetative patients can end up with weird body shapes. The fact that she stopped menstrating could easily go unnoticed, in a typical facility, they have several nursing aids providing personal care, and none of them are keeping track of that type of thing. I'd start asking for volunteers, starting with those who work nocs. I can’t see how this type of thing could happen during normal hours.
  5. I can’t see how this could be legal, what would be the difference between a large facility and a small town? A rape in a small town wouldn’t require all male residents to be tested. I would think just asking for volunterry samples would get LE off to a good start.
  6. Male workers who worked at the time of the vegetative patient’s impregnaten have been court ordered to provide DNA. https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/09/us/arizona-woman-vegetative-state-gives-birth/index.html
  7. Stationed at North Island NAS 1982, the base’s civillian jump club offered a FJC for $40. As best as I can recall, they made a deal with Arizona’s National Guard to teach them the FJC in exchange for using their Hueys to jump from. My first civillian jump was from a Huey. I was 19 and it was on my bucket list before their were bucket list.
  8. A nun is doing a crossword puzzle on a long airline flight when she asked the passenger next to her if she knows of a four letter word ending in “unt” that describes a certain type of female. The passenger thinks for a couple of seconds and then says “Of course, the word would be “Aunt”. The nun then says, “Damn it, can I borrow your eraser”.
  9. And yet our president gives White House press credentials to InfoWars.
  10. What type of meat do priest eat on Friday? Nun.
  11. From Alex Jones https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/jim-acosta-trump-cnn-press-conference-pass-white-house-infowars-sarah-sanders-a8623441.html%3famp
  12. Imagine the great wailing and gnashing of teeth if Obama wanted to get rid of the 2nd by EO.
  13. Didn’t Jesus, Mary and Joseph flee their country to avoid violence?
  14. We don’t have to wait, it’s simple enough to figure out now. I will receive half of what I received last year. It’s no biggie for me, but their are lots of folks that that use their refunds for down payments on cars, vacations and so on. They will be disappointed. Of course it’s ideal to have your deductions at a minimum and invest it on your own. But the reality is most working class folks won’t do this.
  15. With Trumps new tax cuts, he had the IRS reduce the amount that’s withheld, this gave the illusion his tax cut gave you more. This will mean your tax refund for this year will be a fraction of what it was last year.
  16. I just paid $300 RT San Jose to Fargo, I could have flown RT to Paris for $280.
  17. Band on the run Joshua Tree Joe’s Garage
  18. Absolutely insane, flights to the continent from San Francisco for under $300.
  19. I desire eternal salvation for others. My happiness is not related to or determined by their decision. You don’t care about eternal salvation for others, you want others to co sign your absurd beliefs. And when you Make absurd claims like Obama is a secret Muslim, it really reveals your critical thinking skills. You are much more interested in what you believe as opposed to what you know.
  20. The irony of all these folks who had no problem backing those on the Bundy ranch protesting by putting LEO’s in the cross hairs of loaded high powered rifles, but now get their panties in a bunch for a couple of the brothers taking a knee. I wonder what’s so different?
  21. Arguably the most clutch archery shot in history.
  22. Have any of you ever had to deal with a friend who insist (Violently at times) on paying for everything? Everything from golf, restaurants, bar bills, and so on. We’re going fishing in Cabo in a bit and I can only imagine how that’s gonna go. He’s an immigrant from Ethiopia and I’m unsure if this is a cultural thing. Should I be annoyed or just continue mooching?
  23. A quick search reveals I'm slightly under-qualified for federal jobs in my field that pay my current salary, in similar real estate markets. That would suggest that civilians make more than federal employees in my field. Do you have similar retirement benefits? I have a pretty good benefits package. It might be inferior to federal benefits in some respects, but I suspect it's better in many ways. I almost certainly have better working conditions than my federal counterparts. For example, I enjoy my unshared, top-floor office with its 65+ square foot window and the view that it provides. For the most part, I set my own hours, and if I want to work from home I can. Your window is only 65+ square feet? How ever do you manage with such a horribly small window? I’d refuse to work the day my window was less than 100+ square feet. But seriously, brag much?
  24. Have you ever pondered the fact that these civilian “Counterparts” are actually the ones that are being underpaid?
